I am starting 2 franchises. One for my future Indians where I sim then play in the future then a quick manage Rockies franchise.

I was sure I was going to do an RTTS but at this point I am still deciding!

Thank you. Hopefully SDS fixes the vaults soon so we can download them.

Default rosters fall apart after about 5 to 6 seasons. There are too many high rated and high potential SS and CF.

Potentials need to be adjusted and positions changed.

I agree.

But that is not my roster. Must be a download issue. Freeman is a C potential in my roster, Edwards a C, and Arias a C.

This is Edwards in 2021 in my roster. Zero chance he jumps to an A potential in 6 years.

I know some ages need changed and the roster isn't perfect but I think the download issues are causing problems loading the rosters.

I have a total of 4 or 5 prospects rated an A.

Do me a favor, check if Spencer Torkelson is on the Tigers or in the league, if he is not, you have the default roster still. I added him to mine. That is the key to tell the difference.

No rosters are loading now. You can save them and load them and you don’t see the new roster. I even downloaded a fantasy roster and still seen the same default roster.

So I discovered that some of the prospect ages are wrong in the base roster. Some are off by 2 years so I am going to take some time tomorrow and work on that. I will post a new update when I have that done. Won't be a lot but it seems that guys like Franco and Gore have the wrong age on the roster. Gotta fix that.

Shouldn't take too long tomorrow. I figure with the way the vault is right now I have a little time before everyone can download anything anyways. Which sucks.

Scratch this. We can not edit the age of a scanned player. I did not know that.

Nice. Will your roster have Jackey Bradley Jr on the Brewers and Sogard on the Cubs?

Sogard is on the Cubs. I didn't look for Bradley before I left for work this morning. I will check tonight for you.

Testing with editing draft classes and 5 years in at this point.

I know there are vault troubles still but I wanted to share some of my observations:

*After the first year, there are a bunch of low level high potential A and B fake player free agents in the league. About 20-30. I went through the rosters in franchise and fixed this. I am debating on fixing it because of the next point. Plus most are 25-28 years old with overalls in the 50s. They will never have an impact.

*Multiple big prospects have their age wrong. I noticed after my first season simming and could not edit their age. I tried outside of franchise and it would not let me edit it either. A lot are 2 years younger than they should be. Kind of ridiculous.

*Each off-season the last day before spring training after year 1 there are no players above 80 sitting in free agency unsigned.

*As far as high overalls, I am definitely seeing less of them. Morale being gone is a huge factor here. Monumental even. There are a few teams that are stacked compared to others still but it is teams like the Dodgers who already were in 2021. This creates less high end clutter and let's your system develop players and play those players who are ready.

*There is no real change in progression though some players seem to regress slower.

*Draft class edits are definitely needed. Later this week I will populate my future use post with some of these edits. I have a few new ones I have been testing out and they work wonders. Draft classes have pretty much stayed the same. There are still problems with not generating enough power hitters at the corner OF spots and first and third baseman as well as catchers need some boosting. This is where more draft class edits come in.


*Though I mocked it initially as trivial, the extra 3 slots per team on the roster really seem to open things up a bit and allow for some better roster management when it comes to free agency not having high overall players left. It only proves that further adding roster slots will be a good thing. Give us a full 26 in A ball and keeping it not playable is fine with me. Obviously other fixes would need to be done first.

With the above being said, at this point I am happy where most things are at here. Especially in the balancing, overall, and free agency arenas.

I am very much debating doing any more work on these because I can't edit those prospect ages of scanned players. I am bummed about that.

I am still undecided about the trade and budget logic changes so I won't go into that here.

As far as my plans go play, those have changed slightly. While this roster is RTTS ready, I will not be doing an RTTS character this year.

Instead I am doing 3 franchises of sorts:

*My future Indians franchise: This is what I am doing my testing on. It's how the original came about in 2018 after testing. I plan on going 10 years in and playing 2031 so the five year rotating schedule gives me the current schedule.

*Colorado Rockies Quick Manage Franchise: I am a month in and boy do the Rockies need some help.

*Chicago Cubs: As an Indians fan, you may be asking why here. I am intrigued by their roster situation and for the first time since MLB14 I will be playing every pitch from the start of the current season. No simming ahead years, nothing.

I hope that when you download this roster and it loads, you enjoy your MLB 21 current or next gen world as I am likely not looking back.
