He'll likely be on the Cardinals as he started the year with them and played 108 games with them but only 32 with the A's ---- so likely this is a start of season roster perhaps ............ noticed on the Reds he might be getting a bit tired as the equipment is not as high quality as previous teams mainly meaning he has some non-Basic helmets along with a fair number of two-tone bats --- those are two issues with most pre-90s type rosters in my opinion --- I spend a fair amount of time correcting those two issues in rosters I decide to use.

Good point. Makes sense that he is doing start of season. I was doing a WS exhibition so edited a AAA player and made him Alou and promoted...

Starting to see some issues with helmet flaps. But overall still high quality. Out of curiosity... does anyone know why we can only change basic helmets to either one flap or two? Seems silly that we can't choose no flap

Yep, a couple of teams previous to the Twins there seemed to be a bit of slacking with Helmets & two tone bats but looks like he's back to OK with the Twins ........ did you ever notice that with the Texas Rangers you can't switch to the Basic helmets ..... you have to export those Ranger players out then back into a temporary roster on a different team to make that adjustment then export them back out and then finally back into the Rangers on the roster you are changing .........

My 2 biggest pet peeves with this series is the helmet flat and retired numbers. To me these should be so easy to fix???
On a side note... playing 61 season. Cpu vs cpu, took top 15 teams and put all in NL. Created uniforms for all. Using only classic stadiums. Even for Red Sox cubs and dodgers. Really creates thst 61 feel. Play to keep season schedule current with current date. Using A&S sliders with increased pitcher stamina and decreased hook. As of now...
Maris leading league with 18 HR
And Mickey 2nd with 16.

I have really enjoyed PJSnell10's '61. Have a Postseason in progress with it now ...... Great Idea on your setup ! Kiss75s & rt444's '69 is another good '60s to use but they do have a few Helmet & Two-tone bat issues with it but I am making those changes as I go .......... PJSnell10s rosters have very few issues with player gear they are really well done ! I agree with the retired # issue but at least that can be mostly resolved but the Flapless Helmet issue makes no sense to me what so ever as with them removing the catcher's chest protector that didn't have that shoulder pad which wasn't used in the '60s for sure.

Using those rosters and bring able to create the 61 stadiums. Throw in some 60's equipment. I know, a pipe dream.
Since that season was 6 years before I was born I have been researching it, as I do with most seasons I play, and am having much fun learning about that season as I am watching it play out in the show. I never realized how much animosity the NY fans had toward Maris in his pursuit of the record. Clearly a "golden age" of baseball.

I was 12 at the time and remember all of us in the dugout talking about if either one would do it ............ very few picked Rog ...... but do recall our baseball season had ended way before it was all said and done thus we never got to settle up on all those bets ---- mostly of baseball cards !

I grew up in north Jersey. If it wasn't the Yanks on WPIX channel 11, it was the Mets on WOR channel 9. You have to admit, the Mets had the better theme song

The classic rosters you guys do are the only way I have been able experience what I never got to see!! I had a blast running a 1961 Post Season mode. PJ did a great job on that roster.

I am eagerly awaiting Boston Rob’s Spectacular 60’s roster which will also feature the great negro league teams as well. It should be a beaut. He is also uploading logo’s for it so everyone can make custom uniforms for those teams. His Sensational 70’s roster is pretty freaking awesome too if you have not checked that one out.

Thanks for the kind words, Armour. I was born in 1966 and that 70s set was near and dear to me as that is the decade I fell in love with the game. If all goes well, the Spectacular 60s should be out next weekend. If not, it'll be shortly thereafter. Still just finishing the 2 new Negro League team CAPs and after that, it's done.

I'll try to upload the uniform pics for the Negro League teams on my thread. PJ's '61 roster was instrumental in making this project a reality along with Kiss75's '69 set and doncropper's early/late 60s sets. Hats off to those great roster creators.
