Roster limitations for pitchers in Show 21

The new rule for 2021 rosters is: “ Rosters once again feature 26 players, after expanding in 2020. Roster size will increase to 28 players in September. There will not be a limit to how many pitchers can be on a team's roster.” LINK
However, in the game you have a limit of 13 pitchers. Is that a tech problem or just SDS not keeping up with the new rules?

Might have to do with the A.I. roster management, maybe? I'm waiting to play '21 (Standard version).
Its always been bad imo. Seeing teams with only 4 starters & no long relief pitchers is dumb.

This was in last years game too. The covid rule changed it and mlb put it back in last minute thx year Too the game didn’t bother updating it. They can still get away with roster updates though because if only effects franchise (surprise surprise) screws the angels the most here with Ohtani counting

Feeling ya re: LAA. I’m a Braves fan and can’t make an accurate opening day roster because they chose to carry 14 pitchers. However, I don’t have a 2-way player like Ohtani. I can see how that’s a mega-problem and sucks! Maybe a patch will update it? (I know, I know, I can dream can’t I?)

I think it is likely because the rule is still in place however they are making an exception this year to allow teams more flexibility with issues the virus may cause

as I've read multiple times in other threads:

as it's a COVID-related rule, they probably don't want to overwrite their code for a rule that will stand (hopefully) just one year, once COVID isn't a thing anymore that affects baseball.

So i guess that's why they decided to leave it as before and after COVID

They didn’t perch it last year when the rule came in so 0% chance of that happening.

The workaround for this brw is to keep sending fish your 5th start so you can have 8 men in the bp then send him back to when it’s his turn to pitch and send down your 4th starter. Then give versa (as long as they have options too)

Gotta micro manage it’s the only way for this to work

As simple as that is, I hadn’t thought of that. I had (in the case of the Braves) put Ynoa in the bullpen and had only 4 starters but hadn’t sent him down. My only concern, as I think through this is about his options running out and if I use the same guy won’t he eventually have to clear waivers? I guess the work around for that is to send down a different guy each time?
After reading through the answers in this thread I realize that re-writing code for a CoVid related rule is probably an unrealistic expectation. As the guy said who swallowed a quarter... “This too shall pass.”

I took it to mean, “..sending down your 5th starter - you can do this in edit mode or in franchise.

This may not be the correct thread... but any idea why they still have not fixed the way clubs use the DH. They said this year they’d fix lineups & I am in season & looked... ohtani is benched, he’s available but not being used.

The twins are using Cruz in RF & using Kiriloff as DH. The Red Sox are using JD in LF & using Boegarts at DH.

This drives me insane. I don’t want to lose injuries to having to do a franchise with complete roster control. Beyond frustrating.

Yes the options are a problem
                            But you can do
It as many times as you want in 1 season and only counts as 1 option. But yes of out of options have to wait for waivers so I control all 30 teams to avoid that

I wish, for offline play, they would give you an option to set up your own restrictions. That would include being able to set up a 6 man rotation if you wanted.
