Re: OS94 (MLB 22) Thread
I'm happy Don solved his issue and that you guys appreciate the update, thanks for the kind words!
So I got this situation with Heath Bell.
Heath Bell was drafted by Tampa Bay, before the team started playing, in 1997. Bell did not sign, and for whatever reason that I don't really understand, he didn't re-enter the draft and became an undrafted free agent. Despite being drafted. Was there a rule that players could declare free agency out of the draft if they were selected by ARI/TBD before 1998?
He signed with the Mets in 1998.
I really want to help Tampa's roster, and he really did end up playing for them in his final year. But he DID sign with the Mets first and played three mediocre seasons with them. But he signed with them as a free agent in 1998.
So I got options...
1) Help Tampa and put him on the team that drafted him.
2) Put him on the roster of the team that did sign him as a free agent despite it being 4 years after my cutoff date.
3) Put him in the International/Undrafted Free Agent pool where he'll stick out like a sore thumb along with Donnelly and Ligtenberg.
Decisions, decisions!Comment

Re: OS94 (MLB 22) Thread
To the Devil Rays he goes!
Currently I'm adding players (maybe 50ish since last update) and I've rerated EVERY reliever and closer.
I'm thinking RBU has an issue with rating the 1994 season since it was shortened which results in lower OVs. And I think pitchers (and even moreso relievers/closers) are more affected. Eventually I'll do the starters too.
Most rerated relievers have highers OVs, but some have dropped. The changes are not dramatic, but it does mean a lot less players in the 40s and more in the 60s. The rerate isn't linear either, it's meant to line up the players rating towards their career average and away from these deflated ratings. Some have had bigger changes than others.Comment

Re: OS94 (MLB 22) Thread
I wish they gave us options to set positions as DH (I'm doing Travis Hafner right now, over a thousand games as DH, 72 as 1B....) and UT (For, say, Placido Polanco, Jose Oquendo and Mariano Duncan)Comment
