    @stecropper - 1967 & 1964 wip for 20

    I just wanted to give a shout out to @stecropper for his great work overall, and for his current, ongoing work on 1967 and 1964 for MLBTS 20!

    They are both a wip. 1967 was just posted, and 1964 was posted a few months ago. Sending positive vibes and encouragement on completing these for us to enjoy. Thanks!

    Re: @stecropper - 1967 & 1964 wip for 20

    Thanks bbgeek,

    I'm actually working on finishing the NL for '67 this morning with full plans of bringing both '64 & '67 to completion eventually.

    With these two season sets - for now - I am just filling those existing teams during those 2 seasons with an appropriate 26 man roster - by grabbing players from some of my other previously created sets - along with those that I hadn't created yet from other sets where folks built with JTommy67's RBU making them fairly compatible.

    Then eventually I will rerate each player/pitcher with their ratings for that specific season using JTommy67's RBU.

    BUT, even before rerating them for those specific seasons, they are fairly decent to play with as is.

    These are meant mostly for Play Now & Postseason modes of play.

    Each season has a handful of players I will "need" to create from scratch as they couldn't be found in other sets (handful meaning less than 10). Those are easily identifiable in these sets because I place the word "need" in front of their first names which allows you to easily do a player search with the term "need" for 1st name which then lists all of them.

    "IF" anyone would like to take charge of either or both of these seasons and perform the Re-Rate please feel free to do so and then reload as your creation. At 74 years old for me to complete this task might take a while.

    THANKS,
    Don Cropper

      Don when it comes to classic rosters there are far and few in between any better makers than your work.

      Thanks so much for this and past rosters.

      Stay safe and healthy.

        That is so awfully kind of you to say --- I feel blessed with all the great roster makers that have contributed so much to MLB The Show 20. I've been doing this since the early '80s when Strategic Simulation first put a baseball game out on the Commodore '64 titled simply "Computer Baseball" ..... and I had to do that by editing in octal machine code ...... I was a programmer at the time and knew the hexadecimal numbering system but had to learn the octal numbering system to accomplish that ...... Thank Heaven SSI soon came out with Old Time Baseball on the IBM PC and that made my roster building efforts a whole lot easier.

          LOL. Glad I'm not the only one going back that far.

            Yes, Mr. Don Cropper is a Legend himself when it comes to Classic Baseball sims, the rosters and more. I will say there are several who have come and gone and come back who have contributed sooo much with the Classic Baseball theme here and elsewhere - but Stecropper has always been 'The Man' who has also inspired many of the Classic roster roster/player creators (including myself).

            Thank You from so many through the years and a 'Tip of the cap' to you my friend!

              Alextony - You & I go back a long way Ole Podna, One of the most enjoyable, rewarding & productive times was way back when You, Fuzz, Jim825, Capa & I were the "Team Classics" Boys modding MVP Baseball 2004-2005 ....... Man did we create some detailed stuff back then and FuzZ had us laughing the whole time! I think the "Stars" were truly aligned getting us all together and I will treasure those days 'till my last pitch!

                Thank you also to all the Great Classic modders throughout the years. A few too many to mention - but you all 'know' who you are - and are not 'Unidentified' :wink:

                    How long does it take to do a season? Month or 2 of work?

                      There is no correct answer that fits everyone.

                      BUT, my best offer at an answer is:

                      If you consider you will finish each team over a period of 3 days (and that may be shorter or longer depending if you are doing 26, 40, or 93-man teams ---- plus the amount of detail you wish to put in the equipment, stances/deliveries etc etc etc)

                      Thus a 30 Team roster would take about 90 days or so.

                      I would start by trying to complete 1 Team and then estimating from there how long it would take you.

                      Hope this Helps,
                      Don

                        Thanks, that is helpful. Is there a guide or reference to help guide someone in being 'efficient'?

                          No guide that I know of ONLY will say that you should use JTommy67's RBU (Roster Building Utility) for setting ratings.

                          Reasons:
                          1) It is a very good utility that provides excellent results;
                          2) Many others have used it and thus will make your roster very compatible with those rosters;
                          3) It is simple to use
                          4) It will quicken your pace tremendously

                            Hi Don, If so desired, I have Bobby Richardson in the 20 vault and just edited him to your ratings. User ID is Y-KNEE-DAD all caps.

                            Thanks for your rosters.
