Computer sending guys down to the minors

I'm playing a franchise w historical roster (82). I finished year 1, renewed all the contracts I could and start year 2 with my full mlb roster. I have it set up where I do everything w roster management.

I play 2 of every 5 games and sim the other 3.

Somehow, a week or two in, the computer is sending guys down and I have like 20/26 at the majors in order to fill out the AAA and AA rosters. I signed a bunch of cheap guys and sent them to AA and fixed my MLB roster. Hoping that fixes it, but no clue...

Haven't had a chance to play since then.

Has anyone else had this happen? Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Roughly 2 weeks into the MLB season the AAA and AA seasons start. There is a minimum number of players needed in order to fill out the roster spots for those teams.

It's hard to do multiple season franchises with only 26 or 40 man historical rosters. Most function for one season then run into the problem you are having.

But it is not season mode so you need a full roster. Not just a full 40 man.

Thank you! I bet that is the issue. I think I am using a 40 man roster. I guess I thought the joe random guys would just continue to fill out the minors.

The hard part is that players that have a low enough overall will retire. No matter age. So you can lose a lot of players like that. All across the league.

I've found the best thing you can do with 1982 rosters is make the filler no name generic players set at an Overall of 55, with 60 potential age 26.
export , import , export , import , rinse , repeat , repeat , repeat until all fake players are set this way

you'll be good to go for 4 years but I dunno beyond that
