Roster Makers... Got A Question

As everyone knows I'm currently making a College Roster for Show 23.

I'm 1/2 way done and I go "Cool, I'm 1/2 way done", then I think "Ugh I've got 15 teams to do still".

The creating of faces is what takes me the longest to do for each team. If people weren't TOO concerned with accurate faces and I got the basics "skin color, hair (if I can find a pic), facial hair.. etc. I could get this done a lot sooner as I have kept my ratings from last years' 2023 college roster.

SO, my question is for each roster maker what keeps you going? motivates you to continue??

Need some guidance. I'll definitely finish but not sure when.

It's a grind to say the least. I've many times almost scrapped rosters just cause I get burned out quick. I usually do a ton then when I'm getting bored/burnt out I usually do something else instead for a couple/few days in my case I'll go fishing instead of play a different game then that will get me wanting to get back on to create. Every year I always take a week or 2 off a couple times a year from creating . But my main goal is what's the finished roster gonna look like. And honestly I'm never happy with the finished roster . But it becomes kinda like your kid after awhile and you just wanna keep going to improve it. Very tedious though lol

The game that needs a roster editor the most doesn't have one.

Is Ridin still working for SDS? Does anyone have his ear? What would it take for them to release something to the community? There is no way they build rosters the way we do. Its too painful and time consuming.

.. I think collaborating is the key. Way too much work for one person if you're doing full 75-90 man rosters. There is just too much detail, unless you sacrifice quality somewhere.

You're completely right. As of now as you said collaboration is the way to go it's so long for one person to do possible but so long.

Like said above, it is true grind.
All you can do is trust the process, fight off the roster senioritis like your life depends on it, and think “I can’t wait to play some games with this roster once I’m done.”

Like with any project,
finishing will lift a weight off your shoulders,
take a monkey off your back,
and let you say
“Hey, I did that.”

Keep fighting.

Just before I finished this post I got my 15TH team done. So I'm 1/2 way home.

Proud of THAT. So just a little nudge is sometimes all you need.

I don't know about the part of making a player looking somewhat like himself and how that part could get better, but the attributes part, Sony could kill 2 birds with one stone. To draw more traffic to their ShowNation website, they need one thing. A widget where it asks for certain stats, then that widget calculates everything for you and spits out the attributes you need to create a quicker and better, say, 1984 Doc Gooden, than you would have on your own. Build it, and they will come.

I've always wondered how OOTP can be allowed to generate any season in MLB history.

Its not even debatable they are using players likenesses. They have all the personal info, and the stats are generated.

Do they pay a flat fee to MLBPA?

If they can do this, I don't see why SDS wouldn't be able to?!

What you will need to do is too create a player and edit the equipment, average ratings, ect then save that player you can name him whatever then go to roster management and hit import . Then select the template player you create and override. And do that about 2000 times and you'll have all the Joe randoms on a roster. Or if you wait for a few days one will probably be up in the vault with all Joe randoms.
