Re: MLB THE SHOW 24: 2024 OPENING DAY ROSTER BY HOUSTON

I ran into a issue on first team in Double-A that I forgot about existed. We can only have 45 pitchers total on a team.

    • 13 MLB
    • 13 AAA (Which on paper some had 17 or 18 due to injuries and that development list that got moved to Single-A)
    • 13 AA (Same as above)
    • 6 A (I store injured guys here that wasn't even mention on paper but we know are on the team)

So I racked my brain last night what can I do because I still want to have whos mentioned on paper on the roster which that's hard because it surpasses the 45 pitcher limit.

    • The Minor League Baseball (MiLB) Development List (DL) is a system that helps teams manage the workload of young players and monitor their progress:

      • Purpose
The DL helps teams manage the workload of young players, while still allowing them to stay with their team. It can also be used to give players time off from games to work with coaches or clear their head.
    • How it works
Players can be placed on the DL for a minimum of seven days. While on the DL, players cannot compete in games, but they can remain with the team and may be able to act as a bullpen catcher, batting practice pitcher, or coach.

    • When it was introduced
Major League Baseball (MLB) established the DL in 2021 as part of an overhaul of the minor league system.

    • Examples of use
For example, the Pirates placed Paul Skenes, the top pick in the 2023 Draft, on the DL to get an early look at what it's like to prepare to start every fifth day.

The "development list" is for healthy MILB players who consent to it. They go to the alternate site but aren't on the roster there. Sox have Bobby Poyner, Mike Shawaryn, Austin Rei and Jack Lopez on that list.

    https://theprospecttimes.com/minor-l...-need-to-know/

So I am considering removing the LEGENDS players either just the ones in FREE AGENTS area only. It would be easier to do and track radther importing over other minorleague players I have in there right now, I also thought about the LEGEND TEAMS and use those for development list players.

I hate having to exclude anyone from the teams roster at all but it might half to be the development list players, just sucks I'm sure after a few weeks or month they were added to rosters normally.

There is a few Single-A players floating around on teams Single-A teams on this roster, but not sure with this issue if I am going to half to move those to. The main issue is the 45 pitcher restriction.

I will get everyones thoughts, but moving the development list players to FREE AGENTS seems the only way which technically they wasnt on the affilates team OPENING DAY ROSTER.

I’m afraid the FA list is your only option indeed. If I remember you mentioned you were adding team name as a prefix to their name for easy retrieving ?

Something like TEX John Doe or something ? I like this idea.

Re: MLB THE SHOW 24: 2024 OPENING DAY ROSTER BY HOUSTON

After much headaches and debating on how to do them the Double-A ORIOLES are done.

        ORIOLES:

SP Trace Bright - I had to create him.
RP Dan Hammer - I had to create him.
RP Dylan Heid - I had to create him.
RP Ryan Hennen - I had to create him.
SP Ryan Long - I had to create him.
RP Zach Peek - I had to create him.
SP Jean Pinto - I had to create him.
RP Houston Roth - I had to create him.
RP Kade Strowd - I had to create him.
SP Peter Van Loon - I had to create him.
RP Kyle Virbitsky - I had to create him.
SP Brandon Young - I had to create him.
1B Maxwell Costes - I had to create him.

        * There team is such a mess overloaded with pitchers with injuries, development list and extras listed that I just had to move the INJURED and DEVELOPMENT LIST ones to FREE AGENTS.

        * [INJURED] RP Tyler Burch (2)
        * [INJURED] RP Conner Loeprich (1) FCL
        * [INJURED] SP Jean Pinto (0)
        * [INJURED] SP Peter Van Loon (12)

I didn't want to but had no choice I had to remove these 3 INJURED pitchers from TRIPLE-A rosters that were moved to SINGLE-A then to FREE AGENTS to allow room to complete DOUBLE-A.

        * [INJURED] RP Noah Denoyer (0)
        * [INJURED] RP Jakob Hernandez (9)
        * [INJURED] RP Nathan Webb (0)

RP Zach Peek - There was no room to keep him on DOUBLE-A roster because game only allows 13 pitchers. I moved him to SINGLE-A for now. He was in least amount of games - 3.

SP Brandon Young - There was no room to keep him on DOUBLE-A roster because game only allows 13 pitchers. I moved him to SINGLE-A for now. He was in least amount of games - 7.

RP Kade Strowd - There was no room to keep him on DOUBLE-A roster because game only allows 13 pitchers. I moved him to SINGLE-A for now. He was in least amount of games - 9.

        * I did half to keep of RP Jonathan Heasley and SP Albert Suarez they can be found in FREE AGENTS.

Nope, not going to do that. You guys can on your roster when you get it. I will have a list put together who I had to put in there. I am going to try to leave legend teams in tact, but the FREE AGENT ones will be imported over.

Re: MLB THE SHOW 24: 2024 OPENING DAY ROSTER BY HOUSTON

It's only going to half to be the pitchers that I half to move to FREE AGENTS when and if I need the room for said team.

The very first team was such a headache and changed how I thought things would be. I figured it out though it's not ideal but works for me. The most important and cool thing with this roster set is at least there on the game not left off for whatever reason. Most people would be "I'm out" after the ORIOLES headaches. LOL !!

I will have a list like I mentioned above who was sent to FREE AGENTS any person can decide who they want on there roster then.

I am sure they will be other teams that might need this to happen liek the ORIOLES, but sure am praying that not every team is this bad. It's already tough creating 13 missing players then you get to the moving around part and OMG it becomes a headache. But now that I had that issue with ORIOLES take place sure glad it was 1st team to instead 10-15 in and had the issue pop up. I know how to handle the situation when it arises again.

I am not going to do every team like that just because will only do it if there is the 45 itcher restriction popping up which could very well be the case on every team wont know until I start RED SOX.

RED SOX only need 7 which Is an improvement. I think I'm not going to take the screenshots and post as much as players go etc it does take extra time away by uploading those and posting here. I figure slows things down just a little. I will still post the progress who was created etc and moved where, but that will be it. I wanna spend as much time as I can knocking out Double-A as quickly as possible.

Just a small update, due to the holiday things kinda slowed down some compared what I was getting done before. Double-A in itself is a more tedious process its not so much creating the missing players, but the moving around of players and deciding who to keep and who to ove to FREE AGENTS for room.

The RED SOX needed 7 created I got those done and have set the team. I had to move a couple to FREE AGENTS I really didnt want to, but this allowed me to get the Double-A team correct. Remember guys there are notes who went where.

I just half to go over there jersey #s and height and weight and they will be complete.

SP Angel Bastardo - I had to create him. [Not sure if this is going to prevent roster upload but his name was found inappropriate 🤔 I had to use the work around of turning internet off in order to enter his last name]
RP Felix Cepeda - I had to create him.
RP Alex Hoppe - I had to create him.

                              * RP Brandon Walter did not pitch at all in 2024 and I needed room for DOUBLE-A guys so I moved him to FREE AGENTS.

                              * [INJURED] RP Wyatt Mills (0)

                              * I also had to move SP Bryan Mata to FREE AGENTS he only appeared in 11 games in 2024. I needed the room for DOUBLE-A players.

RP Ryan Zeferjahn - There was no room to keep him on DOUBLE-A roster because game only allows 13 pitchers. I moved him to SINGLE-A for now. He was in least amount of games - 7.
