I ran into a issue on first team in Double-A that I forgot about existed. We can only have 45 pitchers total on a team.
- 13 MLB
- 13 AAA (Which on paper some had 17 or 18 due to injuries and that development list that got moved to Single-A)
- 13 AA (Same as above)
- 6 A (I store injured guys here that wasn't even mention on paper but we know are on the team)
So I racked my brain last night what can I do because I still want to have whos mentioned on paper on the roster which that's hard because it surpasses the 45 pitcher limit.
- The Minor League Baseball (MiLB) Development List (DL) is a system that helps teams manage the workload of young players and monitor their progress:
- Purpose
The DL helps teams manage the workload of young players, while still allowing them to stay with their team. It can also be used to give players time off from games to work with coaches or clear their head.
- Purpose
- How it works
Players can be placed on the DL for a minimum of seven days. While on the DL, players cannot compete in games, but they can remain with the team and may be able to act as a bullpen catcher, batting practice pitcher, or coach.
- When it was introduced
Major League Baseball (MLB) established the DL in 2021 as part of an overhaul of the minor league system.
- Examples of use
For example, the Pirates placed Paul Skenes, the top pick in the 2023 Draft, on the DL to get an early look at what it's like to prepare to start every fifth day.
The "development list" is for healthy MILB players who consent to it. They go to the alternate site but aren't on the roster there. Sox have Bobby Poyner, Mike Shawaryn, Austin Rei and Jack Lopez on that list.

So I am considering removing the LEGENDS players either just the ones in FREE AGENTS area only. It would be easier to do and track radther importing over other minorleague players I have in there right now, I also thought about the LEGEND TEAMS and use those for development list players.
I hate having to exclude anyone from the teams roster at all but it might half to be the development list players, just sucks I'm sure after a few weeks or month they were added to rosters normally.
There is a few Single-A players floating around on teams Single-A teams on this roster, but not sure with this issue if I am going to half to move those to. The main issue is the 45 pitcher restriction.
I will get everyones thoughts, but moving the development list players to FREE AGENTS seems the only way which technically they wasnt on the affilates team OPENING DAY ROSTER.
