SDS has advised that the minor league rosters have been updated and that they have spent time on accurate “offline” rosters. I also have it on good merit (via friends) who know a few members of the SDS community that the ratings have been adjusted accordingly. They have been given some love for offline modes for the first time in a long time. This wasn’t catered for DD this time around.
They confirmed that the potentials have been adjusted to determine real stars vs a utility player, More C rated and D rated over B rated. A rated players have been dropped as well. Finding a true Stud is harder to come by to reflect the reality of the sport. This is all amazing to hear.
However, for all the roster editors out there… If we don’t have a player scale for ratings like in years past… im wondering if editing certain players will cause an issue in Franchise. Increasing certain players could and will cause a influx of 70 rated players in a year or 2. Dont get me wrong.. Some players need to be edited, Tim Anderson being 58 is ridiculous. He may suck, but come on. Even a Try-out contract should warrant a 64 rating at minimum with his history. But again, he was given a 58 for a reason. Same with other players on current rosters.
So for the basic scale (over the years) for a C-D rated player in the system:
AAA: 64-70
AA: 60-64
A: 50-59
Obviously, some B rated players and certain C rated players would cross over that scale. With that being said… are we certain that before we all start editing these rosters.. that we are doing the right thing?…. If SDS did truly update the ratings scale… we could be heading into uncharted territory and not the norm that we are used to.
Thoughts?
