A&S, as always, thanks for doing these. I use these every year, and never fail me. I appreciate the effort!

Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
Outside of the power numbers, I think this is the best Show yet and these sliders are taking it next level for me. I have always been a patient hitter (even in past years I could manage to hang around with some of the last place teams in walks) and I am currently first in the Majors with walks by 2 with 66 (possible that this could even be slightly tweaked lower if it becomes a problem for me, but really I think this is something individually we need to set to our own play style as some are much more free swingers than others). I really focus on pure sim numbers and walks have always been an issue for me. People didn't realize, but in years past the user walks being so low meant to have comparable numbers elsewhere the user needed an inflated BA at the least. Really it was a domino effect that resulted in some areas where numbers just didn't add up "sim" enough for me.
Almost 20 games in, I am absolutely loving what I am seeing on the field and in the stats. The only things really sticking out to me are that I am first in the majors at GIDP by a decent margin (6 more than the next closest team), and I have swiped 10 bags without being caught yet (all with Segura and Gomez though and they have good/great speed).
Also, I am curious to know, what are other people's feedback with the hit influence and normal/contact/power swing? I so far have not been influencing my hits or using anything other than a normal swing, as in years past I felt like it inflated power numbers, but maybe this year it is more balanced. Thanks again to A&S for another year of awesome sliders and I cannot stress enough to people to use it as a base. I have done it for years now with slight tweaks to my own personal playstyle and when you hit the sweet spot, especially on this year's game, it plays an absolutely fantastic game of baseball.

Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
As always, thanks for the set A&S.
Quick question (may have been answered but I'm at work and can't really dig through 20 pages, sorry):
Will these sliders have any side effects in franchise/season mode? I did a fantasy draft season mode and on the first day there were 7 CGs thrown. The next day there were 5 more. I'm wondering if it's because of the increase to starter stamina.
It could totally be a fluke or something else as I've only started this one season so far, but I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this.

Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
Excellent sliders!!! I've gone from 3-6 unbelievable plays per game to 1 or so every three games. These sliders greatly reduce the game's most glaring faults. (Superhuman defensive feats, strike percentages, etc) Thanx!!!
Now if only we could stop the pitcher from throwing us out after being drilled by a line drive...

Can anyone recommend what changes, if any, I would need to make if i'm playing with manual fielding and analog throwing?PSN: Lynx2069

Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
Quick question for the QC players.
I'm not using these exact sliders (I'm on Default AS), but Armor's set is so close to Default I figured you guys would be a good group to ask...
Everything feels really balanced this year. It's such a huge improvement over 14. The CPU is fearsome at the plate. K's especially were crazy out of control, and now they feel great. But how do you all feel about the K rate of relievers?
I swear, and this is no joke, I've played around 20 games in my Yankees and Padres Franchises and I've struck out the side with random relievers around 10 times. It's weird.
It's like all of my games play out realistically for every single second and it all feels remarkable and then my reliever comes in and K's the side and doing this over and over is throwing off my stats.
Yet other than Sabathia with his 11 K game, my highest with a starter is 7 so it all feels really good. Sometimes I wish my starters would K more. Lol. But scrubby McReliever is whiffing dudes like nobody's business to balance it all out.
Is this just a small sample size anomaly with QC's?Last edited by Heroesandvillains; 04-11-2015, 12:35 AM.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
As Heroesandvillains will attest, it seems that each year I go through about a two week period where I'm trying to figure out the perfect balance of a difficulty setting and sliders. For years I've played on Hall of Fame using analog pitching and have gotten good results, minus the fact that my strikeout totals are not entirely where I'd like them to be. I've been toying around with different sliders and difficulty settings tonight and figured I'd give this whole classic pitching thing a try.
The game I just played started out like any other game I've ever played using classic pitching. Hitting all my spots, striking out hitters with ease (with Jason Hammel) and around the third fourth inning when I registered my sixth strikeout I was beginning to think, am I just that good? And then I was served a nice big slice of humble pie.
A few hits, a walk and another pair of hits resulted in my small lead evaporating. As the game progressed I was missing spot (which I really liked) but still getting some swings and misses. If anything, I felt like I was getting hit around a little too much (and I'm used to the Hall of Fame difficulty).
I also really enjoyed (as Armor&Sword has said) the look of the clean screen. For years I've watched a meter and never really looked at the pitcher or the pitcher's motion when delivering to the plate. Long story short, it may have just been one game and I may be singing a different tune tomorrow, but this long time HoF analog pitcher may be converted.
The only real question I have now (since I'm convinced you can't just place the ball wherever you want it using classic pitching) is do games tend to follow this path or is it more dynamic and, for lack of a better term, random? I don't want to cruise through four or five every game, hit a wall, and no longer be able to throw strikes.
For those who have used classic pitching (and these sliders or something similar) and have a large sample size, do you guys experience a good variety of games? Meaning low-scoring pitcher's duels, high-scoring slugfests and everything in between? I want to know that it's still possible to strike out 15 hitters in a complete game shutout or a perfect game, which by the way, I've never done in all my years of sports video games. But I also want the games where my starter can't get through the second inning.
Oh, and one last thing, to answer Heroesandvillains question above, Jason Motte got lit up like a Christmas tree when I brought him in. I think he gave up three runs on four hits with a walk. So no, I did not experience my bullpen doing any sort of dominating. Given, it was just one game.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
Would there be much of a difference using meter instead of classic pitching with these sliders. Tempted to try out classic though, suppose meter is one of the easier methods since you have more control over velocity and accuracy?Comment
