If you do not use the LS at all, it is based solely on timing. The directional is an optional influence on the swing. You can still pull the ball and hit the ball the other way without using the LS.

How in the F*** are you guys hitting HR. 71 games into my braves season I only have 36 F-ing HR. I love this game and sliders are amazing but damn I need HR lol.Comment

I have the opposite problem. 24 games in and i lead the league in homers (32). Granted i use the Orioles who hit a lot of bombs.49ers Faithful since 1985Comment

I am seeing a good variety of home runs in this game for me and the CPU and I have users solid hits and foul frequency on 3.Comment

You mean the yellow lines around the K zone when you push L stick? How do you turn that off?Last edited by tree3five; 04-28-2015, 10:48 PM.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
Also, I love the Braves but they do not have a ton of power, though good contact medium power for me is better than those guys with poor contact and high power. Playing CPU only I trade and work at getting all players with 70 plus contact and could care less about their power numbers. Johnson and Freeman for me hit more Homers than say Trumbo. (I know on different squads but just an example as Trumbo has higher power than contact ratings)
To the OP,
Are the sliders on page 1 the updated most recent set?
What I mean is when you updated them did you just edit that post are am I missing something?
Thanks and I love the ones on page one, just want to make sure I am using the most recent set.
I use different batting and pitching views but besides that what you have. I use Pitcher view for pitching as my tv is smallish and it is better for seeing the pitch placement. Use Catcher Classic 2 for hitting as it is what I am used to.
This game is the only reason I have a PS4 and only game I own, I love it. Here are some things the OP (Armor) taught me (by reading his posts):
1) The game plays best as a sim. Meaning using classic pitching, relying on ratings not my hand eye coordination, using the throwing where I select where but the fielders attributes determine strength and accuracy and last timed hitting and the game is brilliant!
2) Broadcast views are amazing but so is dynamic, one can not go wrong with either. I prefer broadcast but both are great!
3) The more you make the game real the better it plays. Example is removing strike zone graphics and that stuff. Sure I loose more but honestly enjoy it more and love the realistic stat lines.
4) Baseball is a game of numbers and The Show is great at bringing this to us.
5) Making the game more sim does not mean youdo not control the outcome. A poor choice in base running and bingo rally over. Or a three and one 2seamer that gets up in the zone and you quickly learn why my catcher wanted the four seamer or maybe at least keep the two down and away!
Armor thanks for making the best video game ever even better!Last edited by SpritePuck; 04-29-2015, 03:24 PM.Comment

Oops sorry for the font size and all the purple!
*never mind I edited it to normal size and black, still sorry for spelling and grammar. I am dyslexic and well, just know I try and it is not my intention if it is annoying* (:
I use another forum and have to change size or it is microscript and well I thought that was here.
Apologise for that and or spelling/grammar. Ugh I am a mess ):
Armor, thanks again!Last edited by SpritePuck; 04-29-2015, 03:23 PM.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
I may be a) stating the obvious here, b) discovering something that no one is aware of, or c) crazy. But I firmly believe that you can influence the location of the ball after you start your windup. I've been playing around with this the past few games and it's either the craziest of coincidences or I'm influencing the direction of the ball. I doesn't work 100% of the time but if you throw slider out of the zone for example with a right handed pitcher to a right handed batter and hold the left analog stick to the left through the duration of the windup/delivery its way outside. Same thing with any other pitches. Is common knowledge? If so, I wasn't aware of it.
However, this instantly makes classic pitching too easy as I can place my pitches wherever I want them. The easy solution is simply not to do it. But it makes it quite difficult for me not to in key situations.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
Wow guys, with the whole Classic versus left stick thing; like I said before, if indeed it is registering LS movements after the pitch has been locked in then it needs to be tested, proven, and a bug report needs to be filed.
Armor and I are two of the most experienced Classic users on these forums and I will tell you all that I point blank have not seen anything like this. But I also haven't changed my approach.
All of the interfaces, classic included, get locked in once the throw button is pressed. You should not be able to influence the balls trajectory once the ball is mid flight. This is not an arcade game. This is a sim.
Again, please stop with this unless you want to test it (which would take less than 10 minutes). Otherwise you are just misinforming new users and spreading myths. I have written so many pages on OS on the interface over the years that I see no sense in making it EVEN MORE complicated when something like Gagnon was saying is so incredibly easy to prove/disprove.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
We're spending more time talking about it then it would take to actually prove or disprove it. If I weren't at work I'd test it myself.
Go into pitching practice (if it still exists, I haven't checked) on rookie difficulty. Throw 10 pitches, all fastballs, down the middle without touching the left stick at all.
Next, throw 10 more pitches down the middle without touching the left stick, but after pressing X, pull the left stick all the way to the left.
The results should be pretty obvious if there is indeed a glitch in the interface.
Oh and please understand I consider all of you my OS brothers so please take no offense to my tone when it gets a little blunt. I'm here to help people and talk about my favorite game. We all have that in common and I apologize if I sounded a little rude before.Comment

Testing now.
I didn't see any influence with the stick. Will do this again later.
