Hall of Fame (Pure Analog Pitching)

Does anyone play on this difficulty with this interface? I have for a while, going back to MLB 12 but I always seem to have trouble getting strikeouts. However, if I go down to All-Star all of my pitchers have ERA's around 1.50-2.00.

Re: Hall of Fame (Pure Analog Pitching)

In the past I used analog pitching and I found all star to easy but Hall of fame to hard. Last year I went to Pulse pitching but I am thinking about going back to analog. In the past I found on all star to often you could get away with a mistake but on hall of fame it was to hard not to hang pitches and to often the CPU would hit good pitches so I would either go Hall of fame with CPU hitting down some and my pitching sliders up a little or I would do all star with my pitching down some and CPU hitting up a little. I am going to try DD this year and I am thinking maybe if I get up to all star + pitching that might be the level for me. At the same time I have heard people say pitching is harder this year so we will see.

Pitching on analog is easier this year, u can breeze through the over aggressive cpu

I love hof, but I am hearing that this mode has a "comeback mode?" I am curious if there's actual confirmation from anyone at SCEA one way or the other as that seems to be the yeti of sports games.

Either way, rooting for this level as it's pretty good.

          The proper term is cheese.

I can confirm cheese exists in my fridge. What about The Show?

Although I'm in no way 100% certain, Russell has been pretty adamant about how there's no programmed comeback coding in MLB The Show. It would be rather surprising if they decided for some reason to put it in the game this year. Most of the time comebacks, in large part, by the CPU can be attributed to poor management of pitchers late in the game. Make use of the mound visit, it is your friend.

Anyway, it seems that just about everyone pitches on the All-Star level. I've pitched on Hall of Fame for a good while now and just like the challenge. But I'm finding myself coming down with a case of slideritis. I really need to figures out what difficulty setting(s) I'm going to stick with as I hate constantly tweaking sliders.

The main problem I'm having with pitching is that I just don't issue walks. I've played probably 15-20 games now and I bet I've walked 4-5 batters at the most.

I've turned off all visuals. Even pitch selection. Makes you really focus.

I am now using classic pitching and am walking guys. I love zone hitting though, and consider that my "being hitting coach" haha. Classic pitching is more realistic to me that hitting some stupid meter that has nothing to do with baseball. Pitchers are more themselves on classic more than any other setting.

I don't disagree with that but I just can't bring myself to simply press a button. To each their own and if you like it, do your thing. But you're basically just calling pitches. I like to actually control my pitcher, making pitches. You can really tell a difference between guys like Lester who can hit spots with velocity versus some guys like Edwin Jackson or some minor league relievers.

Playing with analog now no pitcher feels different then the other imo

im in the same exact spot - between AS and HOF on analog pitching. interested in the discussion here.

right now im on AS at 4 for control and consistency and having fun, though im not walking enough batters.

That and ill probably need to bump up CPU offense a bit.

Same here. I tried analog when it was introduced a few years ago, but went back to classic cause I was rarely walking anyone. As far as another poster's opinion that classic is just pushing a button; I've found that you have to find the right release point for each pitch and adjust them throughout the game, and for each different pitcher as well. Just my opinion and preference though.

Haven't tried out your slider set yet, but on default, other than pitch speed at 7; I seem to be getting too many cpu strikeouts, and not getting stuck out enough.

Terry, give them a shot if you'd like. They should be fine for classic pitching as well.

Mike, I'm confused, are you using classic or meter? One of your posts mentioned going back to classic but your slider set indicates meter. Thanks.
