Re: Graduated Sliders: MLB The Show '15

    Merry Christmas, everyone!

I decided earlier this week how I'm going to continue my franchise into 2016.

As soon as the real life spring training games begin, I'll be firing up MLB The Show '15 for one last month using my 2016 Tigers. Once The Show '16 is released, I'll be porting things over and playing the last few Spring Training games to tune up the sliders some, but otherwise will be ready for Opening Day with the new game.

I may still consider starting a new franchise too, but we'll see...

I've been playing the show for years now and consider myself a pretty good player. That being said, I've found that fielding fly ball's in this year's game has been incredibly difficult. Am I the only one that has turned outfield fielding errors down to 0?

Auto-fielding is your friend. At the expense of "not doing everything," it'll be well worth it with the added suspense of "Oh no! Is that gone?!?!"

I think if you start Spring Training your 2016 schedule would be messed up when porting into the new game.

Re: Graduated Sliders: MLB The Show '15

Kudos - these are by far the most fair/challenging/sim like sliders I have found. Sure HOF level can leave you scratching your head more times than not, but after a loss I find myself realizing that if i had only done this or only done that then maybe I'd have a W instead of a L. Overall this is by far the most rewarding set I've played with. Unbelievable thinking when it comes to how to use the Manager hook slider. Now innings 6 thru 9 replicate real life more than I've seen in the past Show series/sliders.

One thing I'd encourage everyone to try is using the batting camera angle CATCHER ZOOM 3.

I saw this recommended with another popular slider set so I figured WTH - why not. At 1st I couldn't stand it, but after playing roughly 5 innings with it I saw myself raking at the plate and having a better feel for the strike zone.

Pitching I toggle between broadcast or outfield view (recommended with this set). Not sure which I like more???

Re: Graduated Sliders: MLB The Show '15

Picked these Sliders for my Grand Return to the Diamond after having an affair with the likes of NBA 2K16, and FIFA 16. Played two games into my Rebuild of the Tampa Bay Rays, and have lost both games but I am satisfied with my performance in each game. I really like the power numbers I am seeing, about 3 HR's combined between the two teams in two games (Instead of 6-7 Total or absolutely nothing). Striking out a bunch though, but that has more to do with the Pitch speed being lower than what I'm used to, however I love the fact that players are hitting where they are supposed to hit the ball (Pull, Push Hitters). In combination with WTNY's Opening Day Roster, these sliders play as close to Simulation Baseball as I have found in the Show this year.

I strongly recommend using these sliders, however they are not for the faint of heart, you really need to practice and work to get better (Get into deep counts, look for you're pitches).

Thanks for making my return to THE SHOW a blast. Looking forward to OSFM Season and the SHOW 16.

                Gents,

Thank you for the kind words and support. I'm looking forward to 2016. My big dilemma now is do I continue this Tigers franchise or start fresh?!

Have to stick with my hometown Tigers - great ballpark, you have Miggy and only need to fix the bullpen to contend.

I'm starting a new Franchise and playing until the release of MLB '16, gets me more and more hype for 16. I've already played an entire season in Franchise (Brewers) but can't seem to get enough of this game.

Couldn't agree more. I play a game a day (and lose sleep over it).
I have never found a way to shorten a game less than 90 minutes - but I am OK with that. HOF Level really makes you think and not just go through the motions.

Hey Mike, just a quick question. I've been thoroughly dominated at the plate in each of my first 6 Games, pitching has been ok, but i've arguably given up a few games (Including Jake McGee blowing a 2-0 lead with 2 outs left in the 9th). My real question is, I'm only averaging about 5 hits a game. I want to keep this level of realism, but at the same time be able to hit the balls that I think I should be hitting, I raised pitch speed up to 4 and increased timing to 7 but still seem to not be able to perform late in the game. Do you have any tips regarding hitting the ball against this pitching?

It sounds lame, but just practice. Have a plan for each at at, and STICK TO THAT PLAN. I'd say 100 times over, practice before adjusting the sliders.

Try catcher zoom 3 camera view while batting. I have know idea why different camera angles yield different offensive production, but I rake at the dish far more on this view then the default catcher view.

Going to stream a redo of the offseason as I made the mistake of advancing to Spring Training the first go-round.

Here's to a successful offseason for these Tigers!
