Pulse is way too accurate. Even with human sliders at 0 you can throw strikes a solid 90% of the time if you try. When you miss - almost guaranteed the pitch will go right down the middle. Doesn't matter what pitch or where you are aiming it. It doesn't matter your confidence in the pitch (the little ring around the pitch) or your overall confidence. To add to that absolutely terrible "feature" of pulse pitching, when said pitch misses and goes right down the middle, the batter turns into Barry Bonds. Barry after he just did a full month's cycle of PED's 10 minutes before his at bat. Stand up double at least.

That is interesting to hear because I have not tried pulse this year but in the past I found I would walk and throw a lot more balls on pulse pitching then I would on meter or analog. That and being able to watch the pitchers motion where the 2 things I liked about pulse but I didn't like that you cant control speed or break with pulse. So either this is not really true or pulse has gotten much worse then in the past.

I have to admit pulse is a little too accurate this year. I like the fact that it's accurate on precise inputs, but it needs to be a little less accurate on imprecise inputs. Mind you I'm pretty good at pulse pitching so not a lot of those.

Here is my advice if you want to use pulse pitching: Try to imagine that the circle getting smaller is your thumb coming down on the button in a smooth motion. Basically you time your button press to start at the same time the circle is at it's largest, and end when at it's smallest. It's not a race to press the button.

I try to paint the black most of the time and when i miss the right release spot i almost always throw a ball outside of the zone, very rarely a meatball - but guess what, there should be some meatballs in there from time to time - thats realistic.

Simply not true.

I pitch with Pulse, always have, and walk the league average of around 3 men a game. I try to paint the black most of the time and when i miss the right release spot i almost always throw a ball outside of the zone, very rarely a meatball - but guess what, there should be some meatballs in there from time to time - thats realistic.

We are having different experiences, because my misses are juicy meatballs and I'm not the only one on the forums saying pulse is too accurate especially when compared to classic.

I haven't really played with Pulse this year but I did try it in practice mode and I was throwing balls and not ever miss was a meatball and that was on HOF with control at 3 and the consistence at 4. So I think this Meatball thing may be over blown.

It may be that I have both human sliders at 0, as I mentioned earlier. That has to have a pretty big part in it. Regardless of results, as everyone is different with different pitches, confidences in said pitches, etc, I'd like to see pulse a bit less accurate. Especially after playing classic. Classic is so awesome, I'd just prefer more involvement/user input so I am drawn back to pulse.

With it on 0 when you miss you are missing miles from your intended target, hence pitches you wanted on the black more often go down the middle.

With them on 3 and 3 (as per my and TNK's slider set) when i miss it tends to not be by much, so when im aiming for the black and miss the result is usually a strike a little further in the zone than i wanted i.e. more hittable or a ball outside where i aimed.

Apologies for the tone - i just wanted to reassure others the experience you were having is not universal.

Having been at the slider game for years im as certain as can be thats your issue - having them at 0 doesnt guarantee more balls as people think, often quite the opposite.

No worries, dude. I think you're right about zero'd sliders also. So right, that I'm probably done with them because as much as I'd like to be less accurate, as you said - it's likely leading to more strikes...and bad ones at that. I'm also going to go at the game with your slider set for the next few days and see where I end up. I'm pretty excited, if I'm honest!
