Suggestions on making hitting easier without decreasing strikeouts
Looking for suggestions. I'm struggling to hit. Using directional. Thinking of raising contact and/or timing. However I do not want to reduce strikeouts. What sliders should I increase? In the end I guess I'm looking to get better hitting results with the balls I'm putting in play. Hope that makes sense.Tags: None -

Re: Suggestions on making hitting easier without decreasing strikeouts
If you're enjoying the amount of variety in hits you're getting at rookie + I would suggest just turning foul frequency to 0. It'll make it harder for you fight off tough 2 strike pitches. I did this on Vet + and now I have games where I still only strikeout 2-3 times, but if I'm facing a really good pitcher and/or bullpen I've struck out upwards of 12 times before.Comment

Re: Suggestions on making hitting easier without decreasing strikeouts
I would first try lowering the pitch speed so its easier to read the pitch the pitcher throws.
and maybe up timing by 1 click. I used to have trouble hitting. But with the lowered pitch speed and timing at 6 im hitting on veteran now. Games a lot more fun is you can hit and am able to read pitchesComment

Re: Suggestions on making hitting easier without decreasing strikeouts
You have to be more specific. What is "struggling to hit"?
Are you having trouble making contact? Always late on stuff? Hitting balls weakly? Only singles? Not enough authority on hits? Not enough line drives?Comment

Thanks for the feedback.
Gonna give pitch speed a go at 3 and raise timing to 6. At least til I get better. This is a me problem for sure, not a game issue.
Bobhead-I'm making contact. Lots of weakly hit balls. Late on fastballs and early on offspeed pitches. I think it's purely a timing issue. Struggling to adjust from hitting in 14. I just need to put the time in to get better. However, I want to have fun in the meantime. Struggling to get >5 hits and one or two runs a game gets old quick. Getting more impatient the older I get!! LolComment

Look for pitches higher in the zone.
Also, I would consider giving Zone hitting a try. You can cover a zone with the PCI and only swing if it is your zone (depending on the count). I have gotten a lot of solid contact that way. Directional gives more weight to the player you are controlling. So you might be using a bad team, which leads to less hits.
I don't know all the details thoughComment
