Armour, do your Yankee relievers get hit hard on HOF pitching? Keep in mind I don't add any human input when I pitch. I listen to catcher's pitch and location all the time

I have always played from behind the pitcher if I can. I'm an old bases loaded fan from way back and that was the way that game played so to me I am very used to it. Also I just rally like seeing the stances of all the batter from the broadcast perspective as that's what we see on tv.

Like I was saying if you pull back straight above the pitcher you do get a good look at pitches. I prefer pitch speed the highest but I am still able to read breaks. I gave read thproblems some have been having hitting and it seems you just go in spurts. Some games I feel locked in, some I wonder if I am even watching the pitch lol.

I play a 30 team franchise and there is defenitely a different feel from team to team on both hitting and pitching which is awesome.

I think I can take some of the advice from this thread in order to reduce some of my hitting. After 7 games, I'm hitting .331 as a team, I am 1st in runs (43) and top 3 in hits, homers, doubles and triples. However my question is how do I get more walks on both hitting and pitching ends? I have 6 walks batting and 2 walks pitching after 7 games. That's just too far out of whack.

I'm somewhat hesitant to do that because I'm making good contact I'm just finding gloves constantly. I'm open to trying it and seeing, last year I used DD a lot and it seemed to have me hovering between veteran+ and all star for hitting so it's possible that I'm just destined to hit on veteran but, and I should have mentioned this in my prior post but was in a rush and forgot, I was hitting just fine the first 3 games of the season then I switched TV's and this one has input lag issues which is compounding my problems. Now I have issues turning on inside fastballs because of that input lag which has led to getting jammed up and being late resulting in numerous outs.

Make sure your TV is in "game mode". That will get rid of the lag.

Done that, googled my model to see if there is anything else I could do and there isn't. This TV is just a stop gap while my main TV gets fixed but for the time being I'm stuck using it and the results have been less then ideal.

The other issue I'm having is nearly half my hits are of the extra base variety which seems high. I'm not complaining too much as that's pretty much the only way I can score but seems a little over the top with the extra base hits so far.

Give it 25 games and if you are still hitting .331 as a team make some slider changes.
Believe me I thought the same thing when I first started my Reds season. I has batting .350 after my first 6 games. Then I hit .230 over my next 10.
I am currently 20 games into my Reds season and I am batting .251 as a team. In real life the Reds are batting .241 this year.

I either cant hit period or I can string a couple together but cant manufacture any runs, hell last game I played I had bases loaded with only 1 out and watched the next 2 guys hit pop ups into foul territory for easy outs, inning ended. I've never been more irritated with the hitting on this years game then I am now yet I have no idea how to fix it when it keeps telling me I'm making good contact yet the ball never seems to find a hole anywhere. My stats are beyond abysmal....

                  58/270 (0.215) 29th
                  Runs (14) 30th

                  OBP (0.258) 30th

I'm not striking out a ton, I make what appears to be solid contact yet nothing. I cant even score on singles with a guy at 2nd because apparently everyone is too damn slow so they get thrown out at home. Hell I've scored fewer runs in 8 games Ive played then my Dodgers did on opening day alone, its not as if I have zero talent I simply can not get a hit and if I have a game where I can (last game had 10 hits and 0 runs) then I cant score so theyre all pointless in the end anyways. Any suggestions appreciated.
You will go through ruts like this no doubt. Here is the best piece of advice I can you give you though as I go through the same struggle every so often. Take pitches. I notice once I get runners in scoring position, the CPU is not so generous with the fastballs. They get tougher and I have a tendency to swing at the first pitch with my middle of the order guys with runners in scoring position. That pitch always ends up being a change up and I roll over into an inning ending double play. Sometimes in those situations, I literally put the controller down to make sure I don't swing at the first pitch. My general goal is to get the CPU's pitch count around 100 by the 6th so I can chip away at the bullpen.

Baseball is a game of wonders and this set solidifies that.
Quoting this because I pitched with Wright again and his very next outing?

And you're pitching on HOF, correct? Any tweaks at all, to what A&S has posted?

I started my Yankees franchise over (again, still trying to find that sweet spot) on AllStar hitting and pitching with Armour's sliders. I won the first game 2-0 thanks to 2 solo homers. I was in a bit of a rush so my hitting suffered. Astros got 3 hits (all singles) and struck out 10 times while walking 3 times. The only time I felt threatened was when Chapman walked 2 guys in the 9th. I got 7 hits, with 2 homers and a double. I struck out 4 times and walked twice. It was nice to see Miller pitch a perfect 8th and Chapman get the save, although it was a little scary. Having said that, I still think I need to go to HOF pitching in order for me to feel challenged. I've played the Astros now about 10 times (thanks to starting over a bunch of times) and I've only felt challenged on HOF. My only meltdown was when my bullpen gave up 10 runs in 3 innings in a 13-8 loss. So I'll be starting over once again using HOF pitching. I just need to figure out how to stop my bullpen from getting hammered every time I use them. Wish me luck!!

I must say that these sliders are really good. Armour always talks about sample size and how you must keep playing to see results. Sometimes I laugh but man is he right. I am 17 games deep into my Rockies season and I have seen everything. I have had 1-0 games and 12-10 games. It is quite amazing how each game just feels so unique.

I have 2 complaints: The first is the computer AI. They are awful at matching up when they bring in relievers/pinch hitters. I would say 90% of the time they screw it up. It really takes away when I have a right handed hitter up in the 7th/8th and they make a change and bring a lefty in. Makes me so mad.

Second: I know the Rockies bullpen isnt the greatest but 99% of the time I blow the lead in late innings. I will get 6/7 strong innings from my starters then all hell breaks loose. Some could be user error but I just feel like there's something in the game that makes the computer come back. I am 10-7 and I blew 5 games in the 8/9th inning.

Is this on HOF pitching? My relievers do well on AllStar (my whole Yankee pitching staff does too well) but on HOF my relievers get pounded. I'm still trying to find my happy place in terms of which level to pitch on
