Wish there was a slider for positional player stamina
Drives me crazy how so many players have to sit so often because they're out of energy. In real life, a lot of players have only had 1 or 2 off days since the start of the season. In the game, those same players need to sit every 8-10 games. It's crazy. I wish there was a slider that would control this, but there isn't (right?). Any ideas on what to do? Should I go into each player's attributes and move their stamina slider (that's the one, right?) all the way to 100? Thanks.Tags: None -

Personally, when I've tried this, I've seen increased errors in the field. I'm not sure if I've noticed decreased batting performance, but fielding does seem to take a hit with fatigue, so it's kind of up to you if you're willing to live with lower performance in the field to keep your players' played games totals in line with real life.
I just give in and rest the guys when they're at 50%, or I take certain guys out during blowouts. And if I have a defensive replacement, I utilize that guy to give starters a breather in late innings when defense is at a premium.Comment

My carryover team has a lot of good defense, so maybe they can fight through it better. My new MLB16 team - they get erratic in the field at times anyway, so I can never tell if it's fatigue or just being themselves."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: Wish there was a slider for positional player stamina
I usually wait till about 25% or the bench coach says so and so need a rest and I will dh them a game and/or then give them the next day off.
I try to remember this is a video game and no matter what you do, there will always be human intangibles that this game can not create.

Re: Wish there was a slider for positional player stamina
Thanks for the responses. I guess I'll just try to push my players through and hope they don't get injured as result. In terms of there potentially being more errors due to low energy, I'm ok with that, as it is somewhat realistic. The game just really needs to add a global slider for "User Batter Stamina" or something.Comment

Re: Wish there was a slider for positional player stamina
I find keeping an eye on all of the players stamina adds a layer of managerial responsibility to the game which I enjoy. I'm usually planning 2/3 days in advance and look for weaker pitchers or lefty/lefty match ups to give guys a rest. In game I use double switches and pinch hit/pinch run a lot. If guys only play 6/7 innings they often end up lasting until the next break day.Comment
