2 games on HOF and Cruz now has 30 homers in 62 games. It hurts immersion as I'm actually kinda pissed when he goes deep. Maybe lowering power by 1 would help?

Don't know man, power lowered would help but it will hurt all other extra base hits as well. I had it at 4 and ground balls were being cut off up the middle and in the hole too much for my liking. I honestly think they overdid the power ratings to match the bomber quirk and it's coming through with elevated HR totals. I don't have this issue across the board only with guys with higher power. Nelson Cruz had 13 HR's in 120 AB's before going down to injury which is a HR every 9.2 AB's. My issue with HR's is Kyle Seager is hitting them even more then Cruz did (35 HR's in 263 AB's or 1 HR every 7.5 AB's with his previous best being 1 HR every 19.9 AB's which was last season). What's weird is Seager doesn't have the bomber quirk in the roster screen but in game he does so not sure what causes that.

Outside of Cruz and Seager hitting them at an elevated pace the next highest HR total I have is Jean Segura at 13 but that's in 274 AB's, he's on pace for 29 HR's on the season so it's literally just Cruz and Seager for me.

Unrelated note, I'm going to stream a game at home against Detroit. My team is literally in a free fall at the moment after another crushing 5-4 loss at home to these same Tigers. I've not lost 7 of my last 8 games, I went from leading the division to being 4.5 games back and in third and even fell out of the lead in the wild card race as I sit 1.5 back of Baltimore now. It's been a tough stretch, between May and June so far I'm a combined 21-25 with June being the worst as I'm 7-11 in the month so far.

That's why I want to try HOF to see if it helps. It definitely is harder to make good contact which should help but hits may be too low.

          Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 17 Timed/Classic Simulation All-Star Slider

Good Lord, the skid continues. I don't know if it's the games way of trying to immitate a team wide slump or if it's a by product of pitching on HOF but I literally can't avoid the big innings. I lost another one to Detroit this time by a score of 7-3 to run my losing streak to 6 games. James Paxton didn't pitch horrifically but whenever he missed it was hit hard and then the CPU would hit pitches out of the zone and hit them with pop for singles and/or doubles, it's kinda hard to win games when your pitcher is getting hit when the pitch is in the zone or out of the zone. I had Nick Castellanos up and got jobbed on a 4 seamer on the black outside so what happens on an 2-0 count, he turns on a 98mph fastball up and in and crushes it for a no doubter HR, because ya know he's such a prodigious HR hitter and all. To make matters worse I can get hits but I consistently leave runners on base, it's just abysmal playing the game right now. I went from really enjoying the game to watching as I feel like I have zero control over any aspect of the game and loathing it. It's a little deflating when you get a pitch belt high, down the middle of the plate, time it right and hit a chopper back to the pitcher then watching the CPU take a fastball low and out of the zone and rip it for a double into the gap. I'm clueless what I'm doing wrong, clueless how to pitch all of a sudden and clueless how to turn things around. I'm about ready to blow the entire roster up and be done with the season, at least then the losses will be expected. I'm open to any and all suggestions as I literally am sitting here dumbfounded as to what I'm doing wrong potentially.

In terms of how I pitch. I nearly never go full strength on any pitch and I base how long I hold the button on a combination of the pitchers control in the pitch itself and his confidence in it, more relying on the control rating to dictate length of hold on the button. Even with my own control and consistency at 5/5 I can go minimal effort due to a pitcher having less then ideal control in said pitch and he can and will miss by an extremely wide margin anyways. I think the confidence meter swings too wildly and is too overpowered. Get it high and the CPU suddenly doesn't get penalized for leaving hittable pitches right there to be hit, get it low and suddenly you can rope hits off the pitcher even when they aren't near the zone, it's a confusing mechanic to me. Anyways, any and all help would be much appreciated.

One thing that has nothing to do with sliders. Why is the temperature in Atlanta 60 degrees in July and people are wearing jackets. It's hot as balls in Atlanta in July. Lol just something that annoys me.

Yeah funny you mention that as I did that this last game, figured I had nothing to lose at this point.

Alert the press!!!!! The losing streak finally ended, it's a miracle. I was able to beat Detroit 7-2 behind a stellar start from Smyly thanks to maxing out pretty much anything that had movement on it, it might not work very often but for at least this game it worked and got me back in the win column.

I know you have issues hitting HR's, mine have come down to realistic levels finally, I'm hitting them at a 1.35/G clip which is lowest of any month to date (1.85 in April, 1.46 in May) so I'm trending in the right direction. In fact in that 7-2 win I had 0 HR's, 3 Doubles and 5 Singles but I was able to draw 5 walks and scored my first run of the game off of 3 walks and a HBP. Having said that watch I hit 5 HR's in my next game to completely skew my numbers and fly in the face of what I just said lol.

I won my game earlier scoring 10 runs on 18 hits while only hitting one homer, a solo shot by Brett Gardner. It was my most satisfying offensive game so far. The biggest hit was a bases loaded triple to dead center by Judge that blew the game open. It was actually nice to have that many hits and score some runs without needing the homers.

I love it. Little more unpredictability with fielding errors.....injuries are an adventure....yeah man I like it...... I like it alot (in a Jim Carrery Dumb and Dumber Lloyd voice).

I do, I've seen 2 errors in the last 3 games by the CPU, 0 for me however. The CPU air mailed a throw to first on a double play and Miguel Cabrera whiffed on a hit that I guess he should have fielded. The Cabrera play was a little weird as it was a hot shot down the line meanwhile the RF over ran it in the corner allowing Martin to get to third on the play but instead of giving the error to the RF they gave it to Cabrera at 1B. In the end an error was scored just wasn't on the right guy obviously.

As for injuries, I'll let someone else chime in there lol. I can't take any more injuries so I'm perfectly satisfied with it at 8.

The gameplay sliders on the OP are the exact same I use in RTTS.

Well words can't describe, the train is churning down the tracks and there's no stopping us now.....we are on a 2 game win streak lmao. After just watching my pitching get obliterated for 6 games in row, in which I gave up 30 runs on 69 hits over those 6 games, I've managed to only give up 4 total in the last two games on 18 hits. To add to this sudden turn of good fortune I finally will have Nelson Cruz back and my lineup completely healthy minus Taylor Motter (who is sorely missed as he is my super utility player and was hitting .309). I got Robinson Cano back 4 games ago and since his return he's gone 5/14 (.357), 5 Runs, 4 RBI, 1 Double and 2 HR's so he made an immediate impact. If Cruz comes back and provides the same impact I might be able to overcome the shaky pitching I currently have and then try and make a deal at the deadline for a SP to get my team over the hump. Man this game sure does provide highs and lows, hopefully my team is on the upswing now though.

I wonder if my high home run total has more to do with the early Hr issues than a currently unbalanced game. All star played much better than HOF so back to all star for me.
