I will also be here helping Armor with the testing. I have work until Noon, but afterwards I will be spending a lot of time with the game. (This has been approved reluctantly by my wife)

        Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 17 Timed/Classic Simulation All-Star Slider

        Update

        Fastball slider up to 5

        Changeup slider up to 7

New framerate makes it much easier to see pitches.....and I was way out in front at 3 and 5.

This is butter at this setting. Thank you Philliesfan13!!!

Have you tried pitch speed at 10 for both? I have switched to that and love it!

Would this only apply to PS4 Pro or all PS4s?

All of them. I am testing on a Pro though with HDR on and Enhanced Visuals.

My son will be playing on a regular PS4 on a 1080P TV so I will test them out there as well.

              Sit tight guys.

It’s week one. Give me and Marino some time to get everything together. I need to play a dozen or so games before I certify a set gold and ready to roll!!!!

The game is gorgeous with 4k and HDR but the frame rate does drop quite a bit. I switched to HDR at default and enhanced visuals. The game still looks fantastic and the frame rate is night and day compared to 4k

PS: So you haven't tried pitch speed at 10 for both? I feel like they lowered the pitch speed at default so this setting isn't as scary as you would think.

Working may way up my man. I want to play a nice sample size. After 2 games it was obvious pitch speed seems much slower than previous years and that is due to the incredible frame rate and seeing the ball so clearly out of the pitchers hands and seeing the spins.

                  It's truly amazing.

Base-runner Speed at 3 again is working really well and letting plus runners truly shine and slow guys getting nailed.

Going to focus on CPU pitching which so far.....has been awesome. Realistic pitch counts if you know how to work counts. That is the key to getting starters outta there. But Ace's and front line starters still kick *** more than having off nights. But they still will not always have their stuff. User pitching takes focus without the ball marker on. You really need to feel your zone out with it!!! I love it.

Also focusing on infield and outfield errors and arm strength as always.

I am confident by this weekend....we will go gold. The game is a freaking joy to play.

Sheer poetry in motion on MLB The Show 17. I can't get over how incredible it is.

I can't make threads yet, so I'm posting this as a reply. Which '17 sliders can we all agree on? I can understand personal needs to lower pitch speed, but shouldn't pitch speed be objectively correct or incorrect? Last year, I timed pitch speeds with a stop watch, and 10 for both fastball and non-fastballs seemed right. Is that the same case this year? Other objective sliders: Wind Baserunner speed Fielder speed Arm strength What else?

There is no such thing as a universal slider one size fits all set.

                          Not going to happen.

I play a specific style with my settings. using certain hitting and ptiching interfaces, auto fielding, manual throwing, no visual aides, etc etc etc etc.

My skill level is different from others. So it is impossible to create that magic bullet slider set where one size fits all.

Read the OP. Do you approach and play the game with my settings as I describe? Do you use my clean screen pitching approach? If so this set can be a great base set for you to tweak pitch speed to your liking.

That's about all I can tell you.

As far as wind speed? Certainly at default this year with the new ball physics.

Arm Strength? Still testing. Baserunner speed? Pretty locked in on 3 IMO. Errors? Still have to play and test...it's day one.

I didn't get a chance to play much last night so I wasn't paying too much attention to all the detail. I will need to check out reading pitches when I get home from work with HDR and Enhanced Visuals.

I'm new to this forum, so I apologize for what appears to be a massive failure in my communication. For some reason, you presumed me saying "'17 sliders" meant "'17 slider set". One thing I'm not new to is the Show, so I'm well aware that no slider *set* is universal. No need to educate me on that. I'm also aware that there are some individual sliders that ought to have essentially objective, universally agreed-upon values. Those are only what I was referring to. Lastly, I don't need to hear that this is "day 1". I don't understand why you feel the need to be condescending. Perhaps it has to do with dealing with so many slider questions? I don't know. I have no idea who you are and have never used your sliders before. I only replied to your thread because I'm new and can't make my own. Given that '17 basically has the exact same slider set as '16, I'm sure there are some individual slider settings like pitch speed, wind, and running speed that can carry over or at least work as a starting point.

                                O.K.

I will just start over with you.

I am using 16's set as the base to test 17 and going from there. I can tell you wind will be universal at default when all is said and done.

The rest? I highly doubt will be universally agreed upon. You will have detractors for almost every setting IMO. So many different interfaces people use and play with. it's impossible to agree on universal sliders settings for certain ones in a game that has this many interface options and combinations in which you can use them.

It's personal preference....it always has been for me and always will be. I get a solid feel for how the game is playing and experiment with the sliders to get it to where I hit the sweet spot for me personally.

If we agree on it awesome!! If we are off on a few sliders. Tweak to your taste, style, feel etc.

I simply provide a starting point for 99% of the players who follow my sliders once I deem them finished on my end.

                                And welcome to the community!
