Stealyerface's Sim V2.75 in the Vault

I have uploaded my 2017 Tru_SIM set to the vault for those who were requesting.

This set is based on Armor&Swords baseline version, with what I feel to be necessary tweaks for those of us who play with manual defense.

I am a clean-screen guy, Classic Pitching, with True-Analog fielding on HOF.

These sliders should provide a fantastic balance between the ratings of the players as well as testing your mettle on great routes to fly balls, a step towards the base you are throwing to, good decisions with regards to throwing choices, and above all, an experience that very much replicates the outcomes that should happen when you watch a game in real life.

Guys that should be out by a half step are.
Guys who loaf down the line, and are out by three feet, will be.
Fast outfielders can get away with a misjudged route or a bad first step, but slow guys will have to be smart, or pay dearly.

I have over 30 games tested with these settings and sliders, and I have decided these have had enough testing to be the final set, and are live and available for you guys as of right now.

I love the feedback, but please, please... play a few games. Heck, play ten. Watch how the game unfolds, and trust the sliders to make the ten game set feel as organic as the real game is. You'll see blowouts, great games, missteps and errors, but when it is all over and done, I think you'll find yourself saying, "Man, that is EXACTLY how that should have happened.

Play some games, let me know what you think, and have fun. Aside from some quirks, of which a few I was able to lessen with this set, this is a ridiculously awesome game, and with this slider set, I think will be very much enjoyable.

Thanks to A&S for the shove off the dock with their base set.

If we are going to handicap the CPU so we don't see monster homeruns and too many hits, we need to keep pitchers from being Cy Young out there. With these set at (1) Ace pitchers will paint corners, while 4-5 starters will have to earn strikes, and be careful. These are so good right here with Classic Pitching.

Re: Stealyerface's Sim V2.75 in the Vault

Okay, update from the post-patch world...

Since the newest patch update, I am seeing some really good disparity with regards to games as well as runs, and the thing I love about this game is the fact that from game to game, you'll see some really different results.

I had a fifteen strikeout gem with Sale, and then Porcello can't get out of the first inning, giving up five runs and two jacks in the process.

I have the defensive speed, fielder speed, arm strength, and base runner speed down to where realistic results are happening, and defensive positioning becomes paramount.

I love the fact that there are going to be balls that you just cannot get to, even running full tilt, because in real life.. you just couldn't get there.

Diving once again becomes an insanely fun part of the game because in past iterations, you could just run down the ball with the default speed, so the risk-reward of making the dive wasn't there. This year, you'll need to tread carefully before you lay out for that gapper.

I have not updated my Pitching Control and Consistency yet, as I am under the impression there will be continued work on the catcher/passedball/ wild pitch stuff, and it appears that under the hood, there may have already been some tweaking on this.

So far, this game plays great, is a lot of fun, and if you enjoy manual defense, these sliders may be very enjoyable.

No updates. Still waiting to see what happens with the catcher situation, but I am liking what I see with regards to pitching pressure at the Control and Consistency both still at 1.

How have your games been going with these loaded up?

Re: Stealyerface's Sim V2.75 in the Vault

I think you can keep the sliders in the same set, just take a look at the game stats, and see that they are within realistic values.

If you seem to get a few too many hits, you could adjust the timing window to your preference.

I am not a great hitter, but I love having to work for runs.

Work the pitcher, get yourself into a batter-advantage count, and then I believe there are some PCI expansions, based on the advantage leaning towards the batter.

I find All-Star to be challenging enough to keep it interesting, but I cannot just fire up the game, and hit cruise control.

I really enjoy putting the work into winning, and although I do not subscribe to the predetermined, scripted witch hunts you can find on here, I will admit that sometimes the "variable stuff" certainly seems to be tilted against you.

The best way to see this is to play one inning testers.

Start a Play Now game, and set it up how you like it by loaded sliders and the gameplay options.

Now, play an inning, and restart. It is fascinating to me that you can do this three times, and have a pitcher that is unhittable, or he can give up five runs before you record an out.

Likewise, you can string together some hits, or you can swing at a pitch with perfect timing, and get nothing and like it.

So, while I feel the dice roll for the game's outcome is a thing of myth and legend, I do feel like the table tilts dramatically prior to the first pitch.
