Come on man!!!! I'm working hard to win this division. Lmao. I took a half game lead last night and your Nats have a off day so I hope today to make it a full game.

Armor, I have hit plenty of home runs with the usual suspects JD, Mookie, Moreland etc. However none was sweeter than the one I just hit with Christian Vasquez that scraped over the short porch at Tropicana. Your sliders have the game beautifully balanced for me this year. I’ve been especially pleased with my Red Sox tracking closely their real life counterparts in doubles scored. Thanks for making a great game even more enjoyable.

So 152 games down 10 to go and the Braves and Nats are tied with a 83-69 records. What a fun season it has been so far. We are both a half a game ahead of the Giants for the last wild card spot.

Update in my mariners chise: currently 15-9. Rattled off 7 in a row including a 4 game sweep of Houston. Began to think the game was too easy. But then I got swept by the White Sox on the road. Currently 15-9 and about to go on a huge 4 game road trip against the 15-9 Indians. Nelson Cruz is a monster with a .327 avg, 12 homers and 30 rbi so far. Mitch is also hitting well at .305 with 7 homers and 20 rbi. Starters have been good but not great and middle relief has been terrible. Though sugar has 7 saves and Colome has yet to give up a run. Ben gamel and ryon Healy have 3-4 weeks before coming off the dL and so I signed Hanley Ramirez and melky Cabrera who have both been very good. The variance has been amazing so far.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders

I must say, these sliders and options have done wonders for me. I am using the clean interface as you suggested as well.

Before I half way sucked on rookie. Been playing on AS and may need to go up 1. 3 games so we will see.

Using the Astros and am 3-0. .299 avg, .467 slg, .379 obp and a 1.29 ERA. 16RS and 4RA. Struggling a bit w Altuve as he is 2/14 w a HR. Going to a down away contact swing to see if I can get him going.

              Springer Bregman Correa Gonzales and Gattis are a combined 23/56 11Runs 3HRs 12Runs 10BB and 9Ks.

Love the clean screen. I see pitches and can hit breaking/offspeed stuff now. Not focusing on picking pitches and location.

Loving pitching too. Wondering if the hold down on classic has phases. In practice it seems there is a "good" release for early mid and late timing.

Do hot zones do anything or are they cosmetic only?

Also using TheWarmWind's hitting guide and JoshC1977's classic pitching stuff that I can find.

Hot and cold zones have a small impact on the hitter's contact/power ratings (and as such any under the hood calculations).

I wouldn't totally ignore a guy with mostly blue if he had good raw ability (ratings), but all things being equal, give me a slightly lower guy who's all bright red.

                  Will do, thanks KBLover.

Shoulda kept my mouth shut. LMJ just got shelled 4-1. Gave up 6H and 5BB. Fister shut me down in 8 1H 0BB and 7Ks. Profar of all people went 2/2 2BBs a 2B and a HR. Oh well, that's baseball.

Would lowering Reaction and FLD Spd to 2 help raising BABIP? Would that do too much damage or throw things off? Or would I be better raising solid hits?

Those two sliders are a great way to raise babip without affecting hit types, etc. If you are already happy with the way the ball is coming off the bat i would keep hitting sliders the same.

We could explain it quick but classic pitching takes a while to get used to. Its not just about aiming, you have to know your pitchers pitches and the way the break, they are not all the same. Also the longer you hold the pitch button for each pitch dictates how much break the pitch will have and for fastballs it gives you more gusto on that particular pitch but uses more stamina so your pitcher tires faster. It seems simple at first but there is much more to it. There is also a vibration , if you have it enabled, if you hold the button long enough. Aiming the pitch has to take into account how long you hold the button and what pitch you are throwing. Hope this makes sense and helps you. If not read the OP as there is a detailed section explaining all of this. IMO classic is the way to go so hopefully you get the hang of it. Good luck and enjoy this awesome game!

How to aim? Entirely by feel, just like real pitchers do it.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders

I am toying with the idea to increase power and solid hits to 6 for both user and cpu, and decreasing contact to 3 for both user and cpu.

Today's MLB is all about power and just making contact is a thing of the past.

My bigger "fear" is fld rct and fld run speed staying at 3 might be to slow if balls are coming off the bat at a faster speed.

                              Thoughts?

BTW - Armor's sliders play beautifully as is, so I know I can always go back to original settings and avoid slideritis altogether. I just want to check out this idea in an effort to mimic real-life MLB #s (even though I completely disagree with the approach most real-life hitters take in 2018).

About ready to fire the Yankees hitting coach. We have lost 5 in a row and 7 out of the last 8 games. No offense at all. Some bad swings and some liners right to the fielder. Sometimes I think the cpu has 10 fielders out there. Yankees are now 8 games behind the Red Sox at 31-22. Last game I lost I scored my first run in 22 innings. I felt that was a victory.
