I hate to say it but that’s baseball. I’ve had games where I’ve hit 7 homers and scored 15 runs and then stretches where I feel like throwing my controller through the TV because I can’t score or buy a hit when I really need one. Trust Armours sliders on either HOF or AllStar and enjoy the rollercoaster ride of the baseball season.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders

Just to update, I have come to the end of the season. The Indians finish 93-69 and win the division. Overall it was a great season and fun. This is my first every pitch completed season. Had awesome numbers and stats. Everything fell in line around the league. I didn't have any that were to over the top. Matter of fact, I don't think I led (player or team) in any stat. The Indians did not have one cy young, batting title, or award given. A few players were in the running, but just couldn't close the deal. I ment to stream a end of season showing player stats and team results. I was so excited about the season, I immediately went into the off-season.

ALDS Game 1: I was going to stream it (and after the game, I wish I would have) but I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get through it as I had a back injury and wasn't sure I'd be able to play the whole game.

Boston @ Cleveland game 1: Boston takes win 7 - 4. Sale had a great outing compared to Kluber's normal post season troubles. Kluber lasted 4.0 innings giving up 6 runs, by way of 2, 2 run HR's and had 3 k's and a BB. Sale lasted 6 innings with 4 runs, striking out 7 and a BB. JD took player of the game having a 3-4 day with 3 rbi's, HR and 2 2B.

Getting ready to stream game 2 of the ALDS Red Sox @ Indians. Update to follow.

EDIT: Game 2 in. Indians come back to win 1 pitch into the 10th inning. Edwin E comes out and on a 1st pitch fastball pulls it to LF 400 ft for a walk off 5 to 4 victory. What was almost a certain 0 - 2 going to Boston, the Indians stayed in the fight all game even when down by 3 at one point. Zimmer came in off the bench to pinch hit for Martin and digs a ball low in the zone for a towering shot to center to get the Tribe drumming and cheering to put it back and keep them within striking distance. What a game, what a set of sliders, Im out of breath lol

When I downloaded these sliders last night, for some reason it had my settings on dynamic difficulty, and meter pitching. Anyone know what I did wrong?

You can only download the slider numbers eg. Hit power etc. All the general settings like difficulty etc. you need to input yourself

Does anyone use auto baserunning? If so, what sliders do you use for the stealing? It feels like my good baserunners attempt a steal everytime on base and are successful. Not trying to break the steals record with all of my guys.

I use auto baserunning and have the sliders the same as Armor does. I haven’t had the problem of baserunners successfully stealing all the time though.

Hmmm, I use this slider set as listed and I have the opposite problem. I use auto baserunning, and my guys get thrown out ALL THE TIME. I bet my success rate is in the 40-50% (which is low for MLB avg.). I attribute it to the cpu pitchers slide step AND my guys never seem to get a good jump.

Anyone have any tips to get a better jump?

Learn how to use default base running.

I don’t recommend auto base running. Not a fan of that at all.

I pull R2 and hold it and release on the pitchers first move (RHP) the moment I see his front foot lift. Knowing what counts, what pitch you anticipate, etc. Stealing bases is an art and a lost art in todays game.

I love playing that cat and mouse game with the pitcher and catcher. It is one of the things I love about the game of baseball.

Your sliders make a great game even better and I can't wait to get '19 in my hands after having such a blast with '18. We're almost there, gents!

I totally agree that it's a lost art. I use default baserunning but I only really use it to make decision in plays such as balls hit in gaps, etc. I honestly almost never even bother with stealing bases. It's just one aspect of the game where I never felt good at it so trying to steal bases and get leads usually does much more harm for me than good.

First of all, I get picked off almost every single time that I take an extra step lead. I know a lot of people say the standard lead is enough to steal a base successfully, but I just haven't been able to get stealing down.

Whenever I hold L2 and release, it seems to not matter when I release the trigger.. there will be a split second delay anyway, even if I release it at what would have been a good jump (right when pitcher lifts foot). If I ever just tap L2 and the jump is automatic, it's usually never good and I frequently get caught even with a guy like Brett Gardner.

For these reasons, I only even attempt to steal bases a handful of times over the course of a season and almost always finish last or close to it in terms of team totals for the year. I really don't mind it since I do well anyway (won 111 games in '18, played all 162) and I don't feel like I'm missing out on any runs or wins by not making stealing a part of my game.

Sometimes I get lousy jumps too. But I am able to steal bases with real bases stealers at a decent clip. I think the mechanic can improve though. No question about that.

How does Mike Lowe’s sliders compare to this ones? I like how he presents the data he is trying to accomplish (real MLB percentages). Which one is closer to real life mlb statistics? Some of his sliders seem drastic compare to this ones. Thanks!
