Imo with it on 4/4 pitchers miss over the middle of the plate to much. It is easier to walk guys and strike out guys with thing on default. That's just what I have seen. I honestly think this game on default is perfect. I even put my fielder speed and reaction time back to default. I was see to many crazy things on defense that I didn't see in my first 35 games all on default.

I've got a fever. And the only cure. Is incremental and regular adjustments of sliders to alter the experience of playing a baseball game [emoji27]

We all succumb to it. Some just more so than others. I am definitely in the camp of thinking contact is the culprit of low strikeouts by the CPU. Thinking of just returning it as well as power and solid hits to default (5).

Playing on default HOF other than Armor's fielding and base running settings, I do not have an issue striking out the CPU. I initially did when I was relying on the CPU catcher's pitch calls, but since calling my own game I am able to strike out the CPU. The key for me is working the CPU inside to get in 2 strike counts and then finishing the CPU with low breaking balls and change ups or high fastballs. Most of my strikeouts are on pitches outside the zone but if you properly set up the CPU, they'll swing and miss at balls inside the zone as well.

Yeah, I wasn't having an issue striking out the CPU either on default Hall of Fame. But my problem was I was never giving up hits or runs.

I was about to make a tweak to my control and consistency sliders to force a bit more walks but then I just also turned off vibration and that helped out a good bit for me.

The issue is and will always be, that anything is eventually mastered in terms of user input. That means that even without vibration or a ball marker, eventually you get used to and know exactly how far to move the analog stick to get the ball marker (although it's invisible) to be placed precisely where you want it.

With that in mind, the important thing is to have the player's individual attributes decide how effective he is on any given pitch.

I need to find a balance between getting the CPU to strike out and allowing hits and runs to be scored.

I'm interested to see Armor's strikeout numbers using contact and power at 6. If he's getting good numbers then it's possible, and I'll keep it there. I just like to know it's possible to do it. Other than the low strikeouts everything else is good. Actually walking guys a little now and giving up some hits and runs.

I definitely don't want to go back to striking out 12 a game, giving up 2 hits and no runs.

FWIW - I follow Armours exact sliders on HOF. I listen to the catcher 100% of the time (however may change location a bit. For example if I am up in the count say 1-2 and the catcher calls for a fastball low on the outside corner I will through the ball off the plate. Played my first game of my Yankees franchise last night. I won 6-2. Severino and the bullpen gave up 8 hits, including a solo homer to Travis. I stuck out 9 batters.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders

I am having a lot of the same issues as other people on here. HOF pitching is just a little too easy on default and when you make any adjustments you can't get the CPU to swing and miss at very many pitches. I can't tell you how many times I've had a 3-2 count go a good 7 more pitches because the CPU fouls off any good pitches. Eventually I just have to throw a meatball and hope I dont get taken yard which is exactly what happens half the time. I know for a fact this has to do with the sliders.

For about the past week I've been slider testing on All-Star. The reason I was playing on All-Star was because I wanted to see the CPU swing and miss way more. At the same time I wanted to see if I could get some more extra base hits as the USER on All-Star. Eventually I settled on this for the CPU:

                                Contact - 8
                                Power - 9
                                Timing - 8
                                Solid Hits -5
                                User Pitch Contr. - 2
                                User Pitch Cons. - 2

Those may not be exact, but are very close to what I was playing on. Though I was getting some good stats, the game just felt stale. Almost every game the CPU scored 3-6 runs, and struck out 8-12 times. Which seems good but can get boring when it happens every game. By moving the sliders I just made the game play to universally. I think we have to be careful with how far we stray from default. At default the game has every single possibility available to it. The further you move away from default, the closer you get to the game only having one outcome for every scenario. I believe that is the opposite of what we are all looking for out of the this game. Another good example of this was my hitting. Though my hitting stats were pretty good, the hitting did not feel dynamic or fresh. I was consistently getting the same pitches and same results every single game. Yes at the end of the game I would have 9 hits, 5 runs, 1-2 homers, 4 walks, and 10 K's. But the issue was those 9 hits felt the same every game just like every out felt the same. Either a hard hit ball to an outfielder or a hard grounder. As soon as I switched back to A&S sliders the game felt new again. USER hitting is pretty much HOF default and the first hit I got was a hit I hadn't seen in over 20 games on a slider juiced All-Star difficulty.

In conclusion I believe if we can find ways to as close to default as possible, wether thats on All-Star, HOF, Legend, or even in betweens using DD like HOF+, I think we will get the best and most dynamic game possible.
