But I have not noticed any real issues. Another example is Tanaka. I had him go 112 pitches in one start (8 strong innings) then his next start he was tired by 85 pitches. I was able to push him to 92 and had to pull him.

    All answers in bold.
Thanks for the speedy response. Looking forward to stealing without worrying about getting picked off.

And I'll definitely be standing by to see what adjustments you make once that roster is out. Thanks again

I really don't know what to do anymore. The bullpen blows 3 of every 4 games. Oakland has a good bullpen. The computer gets double digit hits every game. They get hard opposite field hits with guys who are pull hitters and are late on the swing. The game has become not fun. I like a challenge but if they r just gonna get hits no matter what then its no longer a challenge it just down right frustrating.

Ok....first off. Chill man. Relax. It's a game and you will be ok.

Secondly. Are you playing HOF/HOF? AS/AS? What difficulty are you playing at for both pitching and hitting.

Third....this is not a "slider issue". I am practically at default save for a few sliders (fielding reaction and fielding speed being the biggest departure from default and for good reason as this completely opens the game up in terms of hitting variety and fielding ratings really mattering with auto field and manual throwing). This is obviously to me (and I am saying this not seeing how you play at all) a user skill issue.

So my best advice is to turn on dynamic difficulty and play till you can't keep advancing and lock it in. Use the sliders on the OP....you will go through a period early on where you should be destroying teams at rookie and veteran...you may end up at veteran plus, All-Star, All-Star plus.

But that is what you should do. And Oakland....while they have a good bullpen....are not a very good team at all. I watched Houston light up that very same bullpen 11-0 the other night.

Good luck and I hope you can lock in where your skill level is and enjoy the game as much as the rest of us here.

Which roster do you use with your sliders, any 40 man roster recommended?
I am playing with MLB 17's OSFM 1.5 40 man as I carried over my yankees Franchise which is now in year 2.

I am waiting for the OSFM Hybrid this summer. But I would highly recommend using the latest version of OSFM 25 or 40 man (whichever you prefer). The roster is outstanding as always.

The slider set will work with any OSFM, classic roster out there as well as stock SCEA rosters.

This sounds eerily similar to my issues. How exactly do you turn on dynamic difficulty and make it work?

How many games have you played? That was happening a little bit to me in April but now I'm in June and my bullpen has been soild. Keep playing man. This game is amazing.

I mean no disrespect. I use your sliders every year and love them. Just this year has been a huge struggle. Just frustrated some. I'll keep plugging away.

Three things (two "real life" and one "slider related")

                    1. Do the warm-up pitches. I cannot stress how important this is. They get slight confidence boosts for throwing strikes during the warm-up pitches. This is also a great way to judge early if he has "his stuff" that game or not. If he is all over the place during the warm-up pitches, it is quite likely he is going to be the same way when he is facing batters.

                    2. Most RPs have two (maybe three) effective pitches; which is why they are relievers in the first place. Even if a RP has a 4 pitch repertoire, there is a strong likelihood that his 3rd and 4th pitches are "show me" pitches. Example: I use Wandy Peralta of the Reds out of the bullpen (FB, SL, CH, SPL). The FB and SL are quite good...but if you start spamming the other two pitches, he will get murdered. I use him in lefty-lefty matchups and throw about 75% FB, 20% SL, and 5% the others. He is quite effective with that usage pattern. If I stray from that...well, it isn't pretty. Short version: don't use RPs like you do SPs.

                    3. The slider one. I am personally a huge fan of User Control at default (Armor has it at 4). I hit about 60% strikes and definitely see hung pitches at times. But there is a little less randomness to how you miss....yeah, sometimes you get one that is way off, but I feel like I have a wee bit more control.

Hey no worries man and I did not see your post as any disrespect. I see you are frustrated and hey...the game is great. I know you will find your wheelhouse with what level you should be playing at...and also at the same time you gotta remember the A's are a bad team. Plain and simple. So you will go through some very rough stretches with them.

hell i went through a brutal 6 game losing streak with the Yankees where my entire pitching staff was sucking. That is the beauty of this game, the settings and approach we play with. You really will go through a roller coaster with them. Even with very good teams.

Stick with it. And more importantly have fun.

These are fantastic points here. And pretty spot on (1 and 2). The slider is a personal preference. I am a very experienced Classic Pitching guy and I need that extra bit of dice roll randomness to my control to keep me from going on too many stretches of pure domination on the bump. And I view the control slider to the old classic table top games of Statis Pro and Strato-Matic where you would either flip a fast action card or roll the dice to determine before the game if a pitcher had their great stuff, normal stuff or bad stuff. Most of the time in the Show your pitchers will have their normal stuff. But you will get games where it is horrid and some games where it is majestic.

The control slider ups the bad stuff component for me ever so slightly. But I agree with Josh that control at default you will still get amazing results. It is simply my personal setting (which is what i share with everyone on the OP).

The warm up pitches are huge. Josh even saw it in action a few nights ago when I brought in RP Trevor Rosenthal and warmed up and I immediately said this may be a very quick night for Trevor. In warm ups I could not locate anything...even the fastball was being left up. Two straight hits......good night. Took him right out.

Use all of your warm up pitches.....always. Make sure you are setting your pitchers to "Ready and Waiting" no later than when they are 3/4 full on their energy meter. By the time you bring them in they will be either fully warm and can throw warm ups with no side effects or at 3/4 full and you can get them to full in warm ups. Don't let them keep throwing in the warm up phase and never put them to ready and waiting. Also if you plan on using them an inning later....stretch and toss first. Once the energy meter is half way full, put them in ready and waiting or warm them up if you want to bring them in earlier.

Those are some pro tips for bullpen management.

Just had an epic performance from Evan Gattis in my Astros carry over franchise. He went 3-4 with 3 HRs 8 RBIs (Solo, 2 run and Grand Slam), his 49th, 50th and 51st of the season.

I’m pitching on AS with these sliders, except CPU contact on 6 to cut down on strikeouts. Bad teams are hitting me too well but I don’t want to lower contact. What would you suggest, raising CPU timing?

5 game winning streak came to the end. Split the series with Boston 1-1. Thanks to Adam Conley for throwing a no-hitter through 7 innings helped us take game one. Second game our offense was pretty quiet for the most part besides few runs. The bullpen lets us down in game 2. But oh well! On to Toronto!
