Re: BYU 14's "Old Guy" Quick Count Sliders for the Show 18

The Yankees come home and host the Cleveland Indians. The Yankees are at 23-10 and the Indians come in at 13-18. Montgomery came in to tonight’s game 4-0 with an ERA under 2.00. He did not have it tonight and the Indians got to a 7-3 lead in the 4th after the Yankees got within a run at 4-3. The bullpen shut the door and kept the Yankees in the game. Yankees scored 1 run in the 4th and 6th. It was 7-5 going to the 8th inning and Stanton hit a game winning 3 run HR off of Miller to make it 8-7. It was his 2nd of the game. Chapman came in and closed it out for the save.

I am hitting on Hall of Fame still and I am at 5 with human contact, 6 power and 5 for solid hits.

    Modifiers:
    HUM Contact -1
    Injury +1
    HUM Timing +1

It was interesting to see how my offense would do with contact down to 4. Didn’t have a problem.

    Indians 7 13 0 4-2B, 1-3B, 1-HR, 6-BB, 11-K
    Yankees 8 13 0 2-2B, 3-HR, 5-BB, 14-K

Made 1 minor change for HOF, bumping timing to 5, was seeing some K's that had good timing, but I missed. This should not impact K's for hum player by anymore than 1-2 per game based on testing and reviewing replays.

Re: BYU 14's "Old Guy" Quick Count Sliders for the Show 18

The 2nd place Red Sox came into town for a 3 game mid week series. Yankees came in at 26-10 and the Red Sox were 22-13. The Yankees took 2 out of 3.

        Game 1
        Sale vs Tanaka
        Red Sox 4 10 1 2-HR, 2-BB, 9-K
        Yankees 9 9 0 1-2B, 3-HR, 2-BB, 4-K
Judge hit 3 home runs this game. He has 18 on the year.

        Game 2
        Price vs Gray
        Red Sox 8 13 0 3-2B, 3-HR, 4-BB, 6-K
        Yankees 3 6 0 1-2B, 3-HR, 2-BB, 9-K
Rolled a 10 on wind so wind was blowing out at 18 mph. Gray lost his 1st game of the year falling to 6-1.

        Game 3
        Rodriguez vs Montgomery
        Red Sox 0 4 0 no extra base hits, 4-BB, 5-K
        Yankees 3 7 0 1-HR, 4-BB, 2-K
Montgomery was dealing in this game. He is 5-0 with a 2.52 ERA. Had Solid Hits HUM -1 so I had trouble squaring some balls up.

So I have played 11 games with Hall of Fame hitting. I need to increase doubles and lower home runs but I don’t know if it’s the sliders or just the Yankees.

        AVG: 265
HR: 21 (averaging 1.9 per game) 21% of total hits. League average is 10-12%
2B: 12 (12.1% of total hits are doubles) should be around 20%
3B: 1 (1%) should be around 2% so not worried about that.

        Averaging 8 strikeouts a game.
        BABIP: .293

These are my stats after 39 games. I played the first 28 games with All-Star.
I was 20-8 with all star hitting.
I am 8-3 with Hall of Fame hitting.

          Hitting
          Avg: .279
HR: 62 1st, averaging 1.6 HR per game.
          RBI: 213 1st
          2B: 72 6th
          3B: 5 23rd
          K: 260 7th fewest
          BB: 151 3rd

          Pitching
          ERA: 3.88 16th
          HR allowed: 50 28th
          BB: 128 15th fewest
          K: 320 3rd

          Human Stats:
          BABIP: .302
          Average K: 6.7
          HR: 1.6 per game
          Hit Distribution:
          Singles: 63.6%
          Doubles: 18.8%
          Triples: 1.3%
          HR: 16.2%

          CPU Stats:
          BABIP: .305
          Average K: 8.5
          HR: 1.3 per game
          Hit Distribution:
          Singles: 68.7%
          Doubles: 15.9%
          Triples: 1.4%
          HR: 14%

I notice the doubles and the hit variety was better at all star.

I think we need to look at moving timing back to 4 and keeping power at 6, then moving human foul frequency to 5 to balance things out. I had a much better mix of 2B/3B/HR with the 4/6 timing/power setting.

Also just blew my biggest lead ever. Led the Twins 9-0 after 4, 10-2 after 6, then Gray unraveled. By the time the bleeding stopped I led 10-9. Then, top of the 9th, bases loaded, 2 outs, 1-2 count and Sanchez called for a fastball away. I aimed it well off the plate, but my timing was off and Chapman left it over the middle of the plate. The ball was caught by a fan in the second deck, 13-10 loss!!

LOL, I won't lie, I cocked my arm once then quickly remembered they are 50 bucks each

Went back to 5 on power and I am good staying there, timing will stay at 5 and foul frequency up to 4 on HOF. This doesn't neuter home runs much at all as timing makes up for it, double are about where they should be as well. The key, which always gets me is to track the pitches well and be patient.

Came back in game nicely with a solid 6 innings from CC and the pen doing what they are supposed to!

Update - Still completely comfortable with the OP sliders, the only issue I have is user error strikeouts, but I am working on that patience piece

Yankees are 19-12 3rd place in the AL east 2.5 back of Boston

first two games against the Astros, both much needed wins.

                  NYY 9-12-0 (2B-2, HR-2, BB-5, K-10)
                  HOU 4-7-1 (HR-3, BB-2, K-7)

                  NYY 4-4-0 (HR-1, BB-8, K-7)
                  HOU 3-6-2 (2B-3, HR-1, BB-5, K-9)
Fun game, winning run came when I set the runners in motion with 1 out and a 3-2 on Gardner. He fanned but the catcher threw the ball into LF going after Torreyes at 3B!

                  Some numbers after 31 games
                  Hitting
                  Avg .264 (12th)
                  2B 54 (7th)
                  HR 46 (1st) Top 5 are 4 HR's apart
                  BB 125 (5th)
K 282 (30th) 15-20 should not have happened, guessing not tracking the pitch.

                  Pitching
                  ERA 3.83 (12th)
                  Hits 259 (9th)

I started a new franchise with the Yankees using real contracts and doing the start of the season with Hall of Fame. Yankees are 3-2. My offense is starting off slow as I’m only hitting .222. But my pitching has been really good.

The only thing that is concerning is in the 5 games I have not given up a HR. 4 games against the Blue Jays and 1 game against the Rays. The CPU is only hitting .161 so far. I’m hoping my pitching is just on a hot stretch.

Cold weather I actually found that to be the case too early on, but as you can see that leveled out. Gray has been horrible for me, ERA over 7 and Montgomery pleasant surprise. Everyone else doing as expected.

You turn it on before you start a game. It is like the 3rd choice down. I think it’s after you select the stadium.

Thank you, glad you are enjoying. My only concern at this point are human walks, so may change CPU control back to 5, but starting a second dynasty as I would expect the Yankees to draw a lot of walks, to confirm..

BB - 182 1st (6 more than 2nd and this is the one area I may still tweak and change CPU control to 5)
K - 390 32nd (A lot of this is on me, but the Yankees are currently averaging 9.5 in RL per game and this is 8.8)

                              Pitching

                              HR allowed - 45 12th
                              BB - 157 21st
K - 364 3rd (8.27 per game and in RL the Yanks are just over 10 right
                              now)

Yup I lead the league in walks. I often do though.
