    Dynamic Difficulty?

I’m looking at starting my franchise soon since the rosters are now out but I’m not sure what difficulty to play. Does dynamic difficulty work well? I like the idea of the game tailoring it’s difficulty around me but have a feeling it won’t be as good as I’m thinking. I’ve been playing mostly diamond dynasty capture a haven’t tried dynamic a whole lot.

It works fairly well, though sometimes the easy ones can be way too easy and the difficult ones can get you in a pretty good drought. I'd set the sensitivity up to 10 so it changes quickly until you start to lock in on a particular difficulty.

What batting interface are you using? Dynamic is really bad for Directional because the difficulty effects the pitcher strategy, leading to way too many meatballs on lower difficulties. This is fine for zone, but for Directional it will lead to a lot of early swings, where directional is weakest, and a lot of easy outs and ridiculously low pitch counts, I was made a victim of the lower difficulty settings for years. I play on Veteran now, but even then with a lot of slider settings to make pitchers more strategic.

There have been others who have been unable to climb on dynamic here on the forums, but did just fine playing and higher difficulties when they chose them.

Yeah that’s what I was wondering also, regarding difficulty not climbing. I use zone hitting by the way. I haven’t played much but I’m up to veteran plus hitting and veteran pitching I believe as of now. Like I said I’ve been playing on rookie mode in capture most of the time so far (rookie so I can get through it faster).

I use zone as well. Dynamic can be good... I usually start off with the dynamic and once I've got a good 20-25 games under my belt, and it's settled in on a certain lvl, I will either keep the dynamic on, or switch to all star. It can be a boon to your play style, but like an earlier poster said, it can sometimes put your TEAM in an offensive drought. It's at the very least worth trying to see how well you do.

            Re: Dynamic Difficulty?

I have a friend who is new to The Show and is using Dynamic Difficulty. It started at Rookie but he had a bad game (and with the slider set to 10 so it changed quickly) it dropped to Beginner. Whatever he tries he can't get out of Beginner level now. The CPU throws a ton of meatballs down the centre of the plate so the pitches are there to hit but it means you can't work the count at all because everything is a strike; and if he gets a few hits it's followed quickly by a bunch of pop-ups and grounders and the difficulty slides back down. I told him to dump Dynamic Difficulty for that reason. Not sure what anyone else's findings are. I was playing with the slider on 10 but when I reached a level I was happy with I set it back to 5.

I was doing Dynamic Diffuculty and found that I actually hit better on All-Star than the lower levels of Dymanic. I think it's because of the pitch speed changes. It just feels like the hits are more solid when the speed is a little faster. If the pitch speed didn't drop on dynamic it would be better.

Yeah I was struggling so bad on rookie and beginner because it seemed like every pitch was a strike, or at least most of them so I just started hacking at everything. Once I hot veteran I felt like I could finally work the count and get a better feel for when I'm getting a good pitch to swing at

                  Re: Dynamic Difficulty?

So within each difficulty level, there seem to be sub levels, like All Star and All Star plus. Does anyone know what these represent? I really like hitting on All Star plus, but if I want to change my difficulty from Dynamic, there is no All Star plus, just All Star
