Pass balls in the dirt getting by the catcher

Is this a slider issue or a game flaw, or just me? Seems like curveballs get by to the backstop way too frequently, any thoughts??

Haha no one in particular just in general.......I'm scared to throw breaking balls with runners on base

It's not a slider problem, I don't think. Though the Show could use a couple new sliders specifically for catching. The only other slider that might do anything would be pitcher control and I think tinkering with it could create more problems than it solved. Maybe it's something a patch will fix.

I think there are too many balls that get by for sure. Some new sliders/attributes for catchers would be a welcomed improvement.

Re: Pass balls in the dirt getting by the catcher

I think it is just that the catchers in the game are not as capable in keeping the pitches in the dirt *in front of them* than the catchers in real life.

Unfortunately, increasing the Block attribute does not quite make them better enough (though it helps somewhat).

It is just a game tuning issue that you could avoid by avoiding thowing pitches in the dirt.

Why did they say they really worked on tuning this part of the game - catcher blocking and reacting and especially throwing. I still see lollipop throws to the bag when the catcher blocks a ball and throws to a base. How did this make it's way back into the game??

True but it doesn't help the CPU side.

Raising Control/Consistency help (some) but create other side effects.

They really just need to add a Blocking/Receiving slider. Call it Catching Errors or something.

It seems to be the trajectory or something. I can only remember one time the bounced up into the catcher. Normally, it skips away. Almost like a groundball. I remember it because I audibly said something about it. Lost a game on Familia spiking two splitters in a row. A nice change of pace from the rally or HR he loses on...

Yeah that's a lot of it for sure. They need to get those rocks from around the plate. The ball keeps hitting them and deflecting away lol.

Put that brush to good use, blue, and get these grounds crews on the ball.

I remember them saying that. It has improved some, but is still a problem in game. And the ones the catcher fields always lead to an automatic out because the overly aggressive base runner will try to advance regardless.

Lol. Thats true. The other day there was a rock actually on the plate. Just left it there. Cant wait until the feature where you can not only switch teams, but you can choose to control the umpires. Hows that for a feature?? Road To The Show Umpire: You Make the Call.

Hahaha Hopefully, it's better than in 2010-11? when they introcuded catching with RTTS. Woof. Now you guys are going to have me on the lookout for the rocks...

Is it just me or does it seem to happen more when runners are on base?
