Thanks Guys For Helping Out! Really appreciate it. I play On The Show 2015 view because it gives me the most realistic 60' 6" view from mound. I will give the show 2016 view a shot and give you my thoughts on it soon. I do play the show on a 52 inch 4k HDTV, Might not need to change the view I am playing on now but I give the 2016 view a shot.

Also on that note I decided I am going to start my franchise season with these sliders, they are great! and awesome! they have given my so much variety on both ends of the field which no slider has done but these. Great Work FenwayMac!! Cheers!

          For sure!

I play on Show 15 too. Pretty sure he switched because of the monitor. I dont think you can go wrong with either one, just depends on what is best for your setup.

Glad you are starting your franchise. Looking forward to some stats!

2 wins in a row - and won the series. Thats going to make the flight back to Texas in my flight simulator much more pleasant. (I should really do that lol).

            Another fun realistic game.

Their two runs came in the 2nd and 3rd, then it was shut down after that.

I scored all 4 of my runs in a 45 pitch 5th inning, with a walk and 5 hits.

Another win against St Louis in a game that had a completely different feel to it. Several key run-scoring singles, plus my pitchers inducing a season-high 38% miss percentage fueled the tight win. Rivero worked out of a tense bases-loaded jam in the 9th to close the door.

All these games lately feel really good and have been a lot of fun. My team stats are slowly creeping up and the law of BABIP says that should continue. Happy times!

                Re: FenwayMac 2018 Legend Sliders

So I tested these out in exhibition playing with the Cardinals. I use timing hitting and classic pitching so I was interested to see how these do since you guys are using meter and zone. I played 4 games against the Brewers. Restarting the game at the end of each game so I was using the same pitcher and lineups. I lost all 4 games. The 2nd game I had a 7-3 lead in the 9th and gave up 5 runs to lose. I was keeping track of the stats but I didn’t keep them. But the CPU had about a .330 BABIP.

So I decided to try to lower the difficulty to Hall of Fame on both. I started to play the Pirates and I pitched only. I quick managed offense so I can test out the pitching. I played 5 games with restarting the game so I didn’t change the starting pitchers. I lost all 5 games. So I played 9 games today and didn’t win a single game. But I wasn’t too worried about it cause I was just testing out the pitching.

                CPU
                Avg: .297
                BABIP: .314
                HR: 7 1.4 per game
                K: 38 7.6 per game
                BB: 15 3 per game

                Hit Distribution
                Singles: 32.4%
                Doubles: 11.1%

Ive never play timing/classic. Nothing against it i just dont prefer it. But usually those that do, and care about accurate stats, end up needing quite different slider settings than those tested with zone/meter. There may be exceptions, but generally this is true from what ive seen.

Thanks for trying out the sliders and providing your stats!

There are definitely a lot of different variables from my slider set they you are using, so it is really hard to narrow down why your results are as they are. I will say this though: I generally would not use exhibition mode to test sliders simply because I feel the exhibition is giving you the absolute best of the players, because they are not fatigued and are designed for a one-game exhibition where attributes are all firing on all cylinders.

When I am testing sliders for the most part I will do it in regular season (I don't even really like testing in spring training mode either), and I find that the numbers really play out nicely after you have gone through the rotation at least two times and players are setting into their rhythm (or funk).

Some of the most challenging games to play are when your team are absolutely gassed from 10+ games in a row without an off-day.

Thank you. I guess I never thought of just starting a test franchise with these sliders. I know Armour says he don’t recommend hitting on legend using Timing cause of the PCI being smaller.

I just didn’t know how the control would be at 1 using classic pitching. But I was walking 3 per game. I was giving up quite a few hits though.

I just didn’t know how the control would be at 1 using classic pitching. But I was walking 3 per game. I was giving up quite a few hits though.
I test sliders the exact same way, all games are played in Franchise in Regular season. Armour is probably right about that legend timing. I have no idea when it comes to timing, but Armour knows his stuff when it comes to classic / directional / timing.

Sounds like you had pretty decent results with pitching, maybe bump control up a little bit? But hey i give up a ton of hits anyway lol.

Are you trying to move up a level from where you were, or is this your first franchise in 18?

If you run some more test games i would love to see your stats and how it goes for you.

                          Three W's in a row!

This game started out brutal. I could not figure out Ramirez's change-up (he also has the "illusionist" change-up quirk) and he used it perfectly, combining it with a high fastball. Best pitching i had seen all year. He struck us out 9 times in 5 innings. Our first hit of the game came with 2 outs in the 4th inning.

The 5th inning started with a ground out, a walk, and a single. Behind 2-0 to the M's, Guzman struck out late on fastball (because of that stupid changeup!) And with 2 outs, and finally something going, i desperately needed not waste this opportunity... Odor grounded a ball through the right side for a single, and Nelson Cruz was out there. I decided to send Mazara home from second and test Cruz's arm. i knew a good throw would get him easily. But sometimes you just have to create havoc and make something happen. I knew Cruz had a very strong arm, but iffy accuracy, so that helped my decision (Tip: always know which outfielders you can test, and why). The throw short-hopped the catcher and he could only smother it. We were on the board! 2-1.

Odor moved up to second on the throw home, then Deshields worked a walk. Bases jammed, Choo worked the pitcher into a hitter's count and got the pitch he was looking for - a fastball out over the plate and he parked it in the seats for a Grand Slam. Oh that felt good! We had nothing going up until that point. (I know how that pitcher feels lol) 5-2 Rangers.

For the second game in a row the 5th inning has been our magic inning. 5 runs, 3 hits, 2 walks, 32 pitches.

We added two more in the 6th and another in the 7th to make it 8-2 Rangers.

Hamels went 6 innings, 100 pitches, only 2 runs and 6 K's. The bullpen was nearly flawless.

                          Final Line:
                          SEA - 2R 7H 0E 5LOB 2BB 8K's
                          TEX - 8R 9H 0E 3LOB 4BB 10K's

The quest for .500 is slightly delayed as St Louis absolutely destroyed me 15-9, ruining an otherwise great hitting display by my team. Every pitcher got touched up right from the get-go. That’s just the way it is.

On a positive, I really enjoyed my scoring variety in this one. Two singles, a double, a triple, and two home runs.

This important set of games continues with a home series against the Cubs and then off to St Louis to rematch on their turf.

I haven’t said my input in awhile so here it is, if anybody cares. I had a really exciting 9 game stretch, I had a series vs the astros at home, a series vs the cubs and another series vs astros. I went 4-5. Sliders are still amazing. I’m officially 50 games in. Edwin Encarnacion is having a career year so far. He’s slashing .310/.415/.755 with 24 homeruns in 55 rbis in 50 games. Which is absolutely insane. Everything down the plate is blasted for like 450 feet it seems. My record stands at 33-17 right now. I’ve admittedly became frustrated with Legend pitching so I went down to HOF with my sliders at contact 4 power 6 timing 4 and solid hits 4. I see you guys have found a sweet spot in Legend pitching too so that’s awesome.

So far so good tho Fenway. Loving my franchise

I believe I still have another eight games or so to go before I do a true evaluation of dropping CPU contact to two, but if you average the BA of the CPU since I made the change, the average is still right about where it was.

However, I have to say that the way the game has played over this time frame has been much better. I don’t know whether the CPU is spreading their hits barrage out more evenly at this setting. I have to say that I cannot remember the last time I have had a game where I felt cheated. Good for my blood pressure.

Bottom line is...this is Legend, and the CPU will find a way to differentiate itself from the lower skill levels. It is just what it is supposed to do. But at least with a better spread of when the computer attacks, it creates more opportunities to work out of jams.
