That happens on HoF or Legend or anytime your pitchers don't have good stuff and it's not working out for them.

Of course - I won 20-6 and had a stretch of scoring 46 runs in 4 games and won 12 straight mostly due to offense, including comebacks.

    Stuff happens.

On my Franchise - man it has been hard to get playing time lately. I haven't played much, but i plan on starting the Cleveland series tomorrow. My team is going to need a long winning streak at some point (without being coincided with a long losing streak somewhere) to make it interesting, at all, by the All Star break.

Of course, when i say "interesting", i will be interested no matter what. But it sure would be nice to at least smell a faint aroma of the wild card at some point, as improbable as the wild card may be. I just want to smell it for now.

Yeah. I like that perspective on these things happening to both teams. It’s easy to forget where I put up a crooked number or fan everybody in sight. Always easiest to remember the losses...thanks for the viewpoint.

Well, a good evening of games. Stats are posted. Milwaukee is playing me tough, but I have a split this far with the rubber match to go.

Bullpen has (for the most part) been performing nicely and is taking shape after the addition of Kela. I feel like I have the roles defined.

Archer makes his Pirates debut tomorrow.

            Re: FenwayMac 2018 Legend Sliders

After 11 games of playing exactly as the OP using Zone on Legend I have 22 home runs. That is 2 per game. But I think that might even out cause if you take out the 6 HR and the 4 HR game I am at 1.3 per game. 20% of my hits have been HR. But I am also the Yankees. My BA is .270 and my BABIP is .302.

              Re: FenwayMac 2018 Legend Sliders

Wrapped up another game using Fenways legend sliders with some tweeks for analog controls and CPU Hitting sharing the same sliders as human adjusted sliders which I shared in my first game post. Only...

NY Yankees @ Chicago Cubs (ME)

              NYY 2 R, 6 H, 0 E
              CHC 4 R, 6 H, 1 E

              CHC
              Beaz 2 for 4, HR (103 MPH Exit Velocity), 3 RBI, R
              Rizzo 1 for 4, 2B
Almora JR. 2 for 4, HR (inside the park), R
              Bryant 2 for 4, SO

              Hamels 8.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 SO
Morrow 1.0 IP, 2 SO, Save

              NYY
Judge 1 for 3, HR (104 MPH Exit Velocity), RBI, R
              Gregorius 2 for 4, 2B
              Bird 2 for 4, 2B, R
              Garner 0 for 4

              Happ 6.0 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 0 BB, 10 SO

A couple of observations from this game: 1) Almora Jr. led the game off with an inside the park home run. It was a shallow blooper down the right field line that Judge had to come in for and dove to try and catch it in the air and the ball landed just ahead of him but rolled under him before he hit the grass rolling all the way to the back corner. I have never hit an inside the park home in any MLB the show before. It was an exciting play and so glad to know moments like that can happen with these sliders. 2) I'm not walking AT ALL lol. Its not that I'm playing aggressive but I normally play with fastball pitch speed and off speed pitch speed on 10. I wanted to give these values a try and have been pressing hard trying to get my timing down but it just isn't happening so I will move those two back to ten. I like how on 10 it rewards/punishes me for guessing Fast/Off Speed more so than on lower settings. I know this would be harder on zone controls cause you need some time to move the PCI but on analog 10 just feels right/realistic. 3) the bottom of the ninth was the first time i have sweat playing this game in a while lol. it was tense and fun. Morrow struck out the first batter and then the next guy up hit a sharp double I was able to cut off that had my heart pounding. was able to strike out the third batter before getting the fourth to ground out to Rizzo. I mean it Fenway you have really found something special here. Now when I play its just as fun as when I watch the cubs on TV. Round of applause for you Sir!

What I would like to know now is if I wanted to get into stat tracking for my games like BABIP and things like that is there a thread I can study or did you guys just come up with your own way to track things?

Chris Archer shined in his Pirates debut...until the 6th, where chaos reigned supreme

But Pirates hang on to win 7-6. That’s 5-1 in the homestand. So I am getting it done.

Pitching with Archer is pretty fun. I really like his slider. This could bode well.

Yeah, I like to get to the point to where I just get lost in the game and enjoy it rather than moments off “hmm, that’s odd”. When the game feels right, it is an amazing play. I have had really great games since the last set of tweaks that really make me look forward to the next game each time.

The stats I use are all gathered from the end of game summaries. I created a spreadsheet that is linked to post #1 and I update it each game. Everything is found post game for me. Now Nolan kicks it up a notch (which I appreciate) and I will let him speak to how he goes about his analysis.

                      Re: FenwayMac 2018 Legend Sliders

Playing time has been a bit slow for me lately, so i am running further and further behind most people.

But i finally got my first 30 games under my belt. 30 games is still a small sample size, so i am not too concerned about anything that stands out yet. The games feel realistic and i dont notice much that stands out negatively as i play the game.

Here is my 30-game Franchise Update:

                      Texas Rangers - 10 Wins 20 Losses
(Yes we suck lol. But compare to the real Texas Rangers start of 11 Wins 19 Losses. It makes me feel better lol. Its gonna be a long season.... haha)

As always these stats are Mine - [2018 Rangers] - (2018 MLB AVG) - from earlier in the season.

I use a spreadsheet based off the one nomo17k does for his CPU vs CPU sliders.

You can find it in his thread on here.

After setting up what I want to track, I get the MLB averages from fangraphs mostly and all the data you need is from the Pitcher and Batter Analysis screens and the box score.

Once you get used to finding where everything is in the game, it takes hardly takes that much time to punch in the numbers.

Hey BigMo, glad to have you aboard and sharing your results! Like I said in the longwinded notes of my previous post, I consider this thread my "Home" on OS. Glad to see more people hopping aboard with input and results!

As far as stat-tracking goes, it really depends on how far down the statistical rabbit-hole you want to go lol. (I tend to hang out near the bottom haha). Also depends on if you are happy with just keeping team stats only, or want to track every player's stats on your team (and/or opponents) as well (the game does a "meh" job at this, and they aren't as accurate or as sortable)

You made a mistake when you wanted to hear about my tracking! Lol. Just let us know how detailed you want to get.

Which leads me to testing and testing tweaking and testing lol. But i enjoy (almost) every minute of it. And i can honestly say this years version blows every other version out of the water for me. Some sacrifices must be made, because hey, its a video game. But when stats get this close, and gameplay feels like being at the ballpark, the areas that don't exactly line up fall into the background anyway, and are soon forgotten.
Nolan, is there room in the rabbit whole for one more lol? I already tweak and test and tweak and test and do it all over again and I enjoy it. Its why i love baseball more than any other sport, cause its an intellectually stimulating game. I get bored watching other sports but not with baseball. Every pitch, every out, every pinch hitter or reliever changes EVERYTHING. Its why I watch all 162 games plus when we make it to the post season (luckily that's happening much more now!)

I'm not looking to track for a Franchise, since I mostly play road to the show with daily match ups sprinkled in between. I'm actually looking to track and see if statistics stay in line with team and league averages over a seasons worth of games to further support my Min/Max theory and how it pertains to not only a person using analog controls but providing better CPU sliders.

Since road to the show is much more CPU performance heavy I have found myself bouncing all around different sliders sets cause the games would be all over the map and ruin my experience. I got tired of coming up for my second at bat and there already being a 6 run differential and the starter out of the game whether it was my team or the others. This was happening way to often. So far with Fenway' s sliders the games I have played while testing these sliders out have been much more realistic and closer as opposed to lopsided all the time. I have had more games where it came down to the last few innings and Its become enjoyable, as it should be lol.

I have played two full daily match up games so far with the slider adjustments I posted a few days ago and the box score stats I dont feel are telling the whole story about how much more natural Im seeing the game play with Timing at 0 and Solid hits at 10 for both the CPU and myself. If I can start looking at the saber metrics I feel I can finally put my mind at ease and trust the adjustments and not panic every time a blowout happens thinking I dont have the sliders correct and changing them yet again. Im committed to playing an entire season without changing any more sliders just to put my theories to bed and play some ball! Im certain there are others who have tried analog and bailed on it because it doesn't work (in my opinion) any other way unless timing is 0 and solid hits are 10. So I have decided to contribute and hopefully help those who are still using analog as well as open a door for others to come back cause I still believe it is the best way to play...

But i finally got my first 30 games under my belt. 30 games is still a small sample size, so i am not too concerned about anything that stands out yet. The games feel realistic and i dont notice much that stands out negatively as i play the game.

Here is my 30-game Franchise Update:

(Yes we suck lol. But compare to the real Texas Rangers start of 11 Wins 19 Losses. It makes me feel better lol. Its gonna be a long season.... haha)

That is a whole lot of numbers to digest (thanks for taking the time to do that), but overall I would say they look quite successful!

Jumping for a game and saw patch 1.13. sounds like some good stuff. I am looking forward to some new commentary, or ar the very least a little less of the phrases I hear over and over and over. Bring on the Diamondbacks!
