Re: BYU 14's "Old Guy" Legend/All-Star Quick Count Sliders for MLB The Show 19

Updated the OP after testing all day yesterday with the new OSFM rosters. The main issue with the current version was the lack of CPU strikeouts and that fact that when the CPU was dialed in offensively stats were a bit inflated. Definitely have a much better balance now and I am happy with that now. Human offensive has been solid for me throughout testing, so no changes to those sliders. I will have these in the vault under BYU's old guy sliders V2 later today.

    Changes from original set
Human Pitcher control -1 (Walks were a tad low and classic is easy to hit your spots on once you are dialed in to your staff, so this was needed to reduce corner painting a bit.)

CPU contact and timing -2 (All about brining CPU strikeouts and batting averages in line, without neutering the offense and still retaining the challenge of pitching on legend. Raised CPU solid hits by 1 to keep a variety in CPU hit types, which is affected by the smaller timing window.

Version 3 updated 4/18/19 - CPU contact, timing and FF to 1 and it looks like the sweet spot. K's are up to where they should be and good pitchers are harder to get good wood on. Reduced human contact to 4 and human pitcher control to 3 as walks were a tad low. Finally had to bump base runner speed to 4 and lower OF arm strength back to 5, just seeing too many poor decisions on the base paths (not trying for the extra base) with OF arm on 6. OP updated.

I didn't get to play a lot over the weekend, but results are staying consistent. Even with quick counts getting strike percentages that range from 62-68% and a nice variety of animations and hit types.

QC just doesn't work with many sets that aren't out to set a premise for them.

I've even done something with these that I've wanted to do for years (probably since "Bases Loaded" on the NES) and I spent 20 games on dynamic hitting learning how to hit from the broadcast Cam

It was reinventing the wheel....but after 500-600 at bats it's finally down.

(I do have to make a custom camera every road trip and raise it up, but hey...)

For a spell I thought maybe human con needed to be 2, until I played someone besides Kansas City and Detroit hahaha...

                Good work man, good stuff

Thank you, happy they are giving you good results and props for hitting on broadcast cam. I tried that last year and just looked foolish LOL.

Had a fun game against Baltimore at Camden in my "official" franchise.

Alex Cobb retired the first 9 in order and I trailed 2-0 after a 2 out HR by Trey Mancini off of Severino in the first. A bobbled grounder led to a missed double play opportunity by Baltimore in the 4th and I scored 4 runs with 2 outs when the inning should have been over.

Baltimore got 1 back and it was tight, 4-3 Yankees going into the top of the 9th as I pitched out of jams with runners in scoring position in both the 7th and 8th innings. Gleyber Torres then took a 2-2 curve that caught too much of the plate deep in the top of the 9th to make it 7-3 to make it comfortable.

                      Yankees 7-12-0
                      Orioles 3-8-0

                      2B - 3 each
                      HR - 1 each
                      BB - O's 4, Yankees 3
                      K - O's 6, Yankees 9

I have to make more time to play, LOL. We just finished spring football this week, so that was taking all my time. Gonna dig back in this weekend.

Right on man. I've been going through a generational upheaval of staff at my work, leaving me to do 16 hour days, 7 days a week, for nearly a month now....but the end is in sight and I'm going to cram it full of gaming. I've learned a few things post patch here, however, I'd like to share

These sliders are the best out there. Best variation I’ve found in terms of outcome...which is how baseball should be.

If hitting is too easy for anyone on this set; just do HOF hitting and Legend pitching...
