How many over 50 adjust fb speed?

Just curious if any fellow over 50 year old players have adjusted fb speed? I'm finding it harder to catch up on the heater. Call it pride but I still have fb speed at default.
Does the adjustment work for human pitching as well? So if I take fb speed to 4, will that help CPU when they hit against me?

I'll be turning 58 this August and my reflexes have slowed a little bit. Enough to drop pitch speed to 4 for both.

Don't think it effects the cpu when its batting.

I'm still a year from 50 but I found with the right camera angle and this 65'' telly I picked up last winter allows me to play with FB's on 7 & off-speeds on 4. the off-speeds kill me more than the heaters, but it sure is fun as hell trying to adjust. I'll repost here in a couple years

Maybe my tv is the problem. I know that used to be a consideration on the PS3 generation. Does it matter for PS4?
One thing that I've noticed is that my checked swings seem slow to act out on screen.

My eyesight is bad so every aspect of my play in general improved when I went bigger. I still stink at hitting, I just stink less lol

You might also increase the human batter timing by a click or two.
Think I did that a couple years back, as I too am a distiguished gentleman over 50, but sense I am related to Benjamin Button 😉, may be lowering mine in a couple more years.

Try a different camera angle. I'm 66 and I have both pitches at 4 or 5 on Wide. Even Snake Eye will give you a bit more time.

I don’t know much about TVs but I have a samsung (idk what model) 4K tv that has “game mode” and the input lag is virtually nothing. I read up on the model and it had one of the lowest input lags you could find in a tv, which I didn’t even know that when I bought it honestly but it’s been nice. It could very well be the TV. I use pitch speeds at 6 and timing at 4 on HOF. I’m also 28 years old though so my reflexes are fine. Lol

But if your tv has a game mode, use it!

                    A few things.

First of all, SDS has confirmed on a few occasions that pitch speed only impacts the player. The speed will still change visually when the cpu is hitting, but has no impact on results.

Secondly, no shame in finding the right pitch speed for you. I've always said the individual should make their own sliders, and that goes double for pitch speed.

Thirdly, yes, TV can have a huge impact. It has nothing to do with the console (PS3 or PS4) and everything to do with the TV itself. Some TVs have a game mode which turns off any post processing (which will cause the lion's share of input lag), but all TVs have SOME input lag.

This year is actually a great year to buy a TV. Monitor technology is starting to compete with current TV tech, and visa versa, so you have dropping prices with more technology options. A lot of new TVs are actually giant gaming monitors.

You have to do your research though. I bought one of the brand new Samsung QLEDs (it had only been out in the market for a week when I got it). At a glance in the store, it looked exactly like its older model cousin for more money, and it had no labelling in store to show off its features. But in reality, it's a 55' 4k HDR 120hrz 4ms response time VA panel with freesync compatibility. To the layman: a really big gaming monitor.

Thanks for the info on TV's Rmiok222& TheWarmWind. My current tv does not have a gaming mode. Time to go shopping. In the mean time, I moved human timing up a tick. That's made
it more realistic. I have a chance on a fastball now.

Again I can't stress enough to do your research. The new Samsung lineup is actually 4 different lineups. Knowing that they couldn't directly compete with LG's OLEDs, Samsung decided to hit the market with 4 different TVs that are all better than the LG OLED in some way. The gaming one is only one of them (I believe it's the Q60, but I actually forgot and my TV has no markings on it).

ALSO, even though the TV claimed that it would automatically detect games and activate game mode, I didn't plug my PS4 directly into my TV, instead routing it through the entertainment set first. This caused major lag when I first started playing games, and the setting to turn on game mode was buried in an obscure menu (external device settings) instead of where you would think it would be (video settings). Was glad I found it, as I actually hate post processing on anything I watch, but my point is don't expect to buy something off the shelf and have an easy plug and play experience. Things are getting better, no doubt, but we're talking about an industry that's participated in anti-consumer practices for over a decade now.

Remember: These things are designed to look as good as possible in the store with the sample video so you will buy them. They are not designed to provide the consumer with the best possible product, nor is the sales process set up in any way to help inform the consumer of what the benefits and costs of certain models are. Add all of that on top of the complete fumbling of the standardization of HDR ratings (very easy to cheat the system and get a high score) and the encouragement of existing consumer misconceptions (higher resolutions does not equal a better viewing experience) and you've got a purchasing environment where it is very easy to make a mistake and buy the wrong product for you.
