Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
Armor I hope you don't mind if every once in awhile I share one of my games here , if so do let me know please . Nearing the end of July and we are desperately trying to keep up with Boston and Cleveland as we are in a 3 way battle for that final wild card spot . I'm really feeling the pressure as we head out on a 6 game road trip with the Mariners up first . Marco Gonzales was on the mound for the Mariners in the opener and we he was solid to start , but eventually we found our grove as soon as I figured him out and from there on it was pretty smooth sailing . German Marquez has been so solid for us , without him in the rotation we would not be over 500% and in a battle for the wild card spot , so glad I pulled the trigger on that deal and brought him to Toronto. Mariners vs Blue Jays ,

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
I know, I know extremely small sample size, but played my first 2 games against the Cards. Everything the same as Armour’s v4 (with the exception of pitch speeds at 9/8). The Cards are a decent team aren’t they?
Reds 6 Cards 2 (Cards 7 hits, inc. a homer, 2 walks and 10 K’s. My strike % was 69)
Reds 5 Cards 0 (Cards 4 hits, all singles, 0 walks and 10 k’s). Castillo pitched a complete game on 114 pitches and with a strike % of 67
Given that I play with swing/pitch info on and pitching ball marker at classic on (I’ve tried but just can’t do clean screen when pitching) I’m wondering if human control at 6 is giving my pitching too much of a boost?
As I said, it is a very small sample size, but if you know how my brain works and my issues of constantly starting over, I’m just looking for some feedback from Armour and others before I go any further.
Is my pitching just off to a hot start or should my human control go back to 5 given my settings?
Sorry for rambling post and thanks in advanceYankees modern day

EDIT:
My reasoning for this is from the in-game description of what the slider does. In particular, the part that talks about needing to raise CPU contact if you mess with human pitch control. In case you don't have access to it right now the slider description for human pitch control states, "This adjusts the accuracy of a pitcher's pitches. Shifting this to the right improved accuracy. Suggestion: If you lower the pitcher's accuracy, you should decrease the hitter's contact to compensate."
One can only assume that it works both ways, meaning that if you RAISE human pitcher control you should also raise CPU contact. And that, at least for the time being, is where I don't want to go. I feel like altering one without altering the other as the game suggests, might give me an unfair advantage, albeit a small one.Last edited by Gagnon39; 05-12-2020, 06:17 PM.Comment

I'm getting ready to play a few games but I've decided I'm just going to start with lowering power to 4 for both CPU and human and leave pitcher control where it is. At this point the only thing I'd really like is slightly less home runs on both sides.

Also, with control at 5 I felt that I REALLY had to pay attention to my pitcher. I had to pitch smarter in terms of location, setting up the hitters, and really having to pay attention to which pitches were working and not working (I have pitcher’s confidence turned on). Yes, only 2 games with it a 6 and I didn’t feel that as much.Yankees modern day

Good reasoning. Thanks for the input

I’ve been debating this as well. Not sure which one to do 6 on and which to do 5 on. I can’t get on board with 6/6 though

Man... these are the games that make me fall in love with The Show. This was so freaking epic. Arguably one of my best games I've ever played. The White Sox had the tying run on second in the bottom of the ninth, it felt like a playoff game.
This was one of my most epic games ever... definitely the game of the year so far in 2020.
JULY 7, 2020 | CHICAGO, IL
On most nights Steven Souza Jr.'s three-run homer in the top of the ninth would have been the headline, but on Tuesday night at Guaranteed Rate Field it was Brandon Morrow who stole the show. The veteran hurler made his long-awaited return and tossed a flawless eighth inning, striking out the side in order in his first Major League game in nearly two years.
"It was just great to be back out there after so many setbacks," said Morrow. "I was always optimistic that I could get back but there were plenty of bumps along the way... I just hope I can continue to contribute and help the team the rest of the way, I'm glad to be a part of it."
Morrow, 34, is on the last year of his deal with the Cubs and spent the first month of the year on the injured list before splitting time between Double-A Tennessee and Triple-A Iowa. His dominant inning was rewarded in the top of the ninth when Steven Souza Jr. blasted his 10th home run of the season off of White Sox closer Aaron Bummer to give the Cubs a 7-6 lead.
Craig Kimbrel notched his 26th save of the year in the bottom of the ninth to secure yet another come-from-behind victory for Cubs.
"We've just done it all year," said Cubs slugger Anthony Rizzo after the game. "We are never out of a game and just like in 2016, 'we never quit,' and it showed again tonight. This team is special and I know we have the right mix to make things happen this year."
Morrow was not the only bullpen arm to make a return to the Majors Tuesday night. Arodys Viscaino, who was signed to a one-year deal back in May, appeared in 1 1/3 innings, allowing just one hit while striking out a pair.
Jon Lester made the start for the Cubs and cruised through the first four innings before running into trouble. White Sox outfielder Luis Robert had a career-day, hitting a three-run homer in the fifth and another in the sixth to give the White Sox a 6-3 lead at the time. However, an RBI double, his second of the day, by Anthony Rizzo in the top of the eighth and the three-run homer by Souza in the ninth led the Cubs to victory over their cross-town rivals.
The Cubs will look to sweep the two-game set against the White Sox tomorrow when Kyle Hendricks (9-3, 4.24) makes the start. Carlos Rodon (8-3, 3.51) will be on the bump for the White Sox.Comment

I wish my story was as good as that. I just went 8 scoreless with Degrom taking a 2-0 lead into the ninth. My closer gives up 4 and the Wilson gives up 3 turn a nice shiny performance by Degrom into a steaming pile of crap for a 7-2 loss.

On a 6 game roadie in 2 American League cities and using the DH to rest guys. I've come to the conclusion that you guys using AL teams have a health cheat code with the DH after seeing just how much health my guys regain in one day as a DH. Also what a treat to have 9 real hitters. It's been a very fun roadie.
