For those with Netflix. You owe it to yourself to watch

    The Battered Bastards Of Baseball.

It is a great documentary on the Portland Mavericks.

Hey what's up Armor? Are you taking an extra step before stealing? I'm getting thrown out a lot (1-6) with decent baserunners

Don’t take a extra step. Just hold L1 and release it on pitchers first move. You will have better success.

These sliders (well what's on the 1st page, haven't tried any of your tests) were awesome for me! Just wanted to say thanks! I batted from the broadcast camera and had a blast with the clean screen. It was so cool! I think my only difference was keeping the offspeed pitch slider at default and bumping the fastball one up 1. I tried up 2 and up 1 and was getting just embarrassed at the plate on HOF so I'll work my way up to that lol.

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider

I have played every single game and every single pitch on the first 2 days of the season now. starting to get a sample size as far as the sliders go

I found that on day 2 that I started getting lots more runs now. this seems to happen to me with MLB the show. either it's rust or what I really think it is I struggle to hit and see the ball on day games. I really think that is what it is and on night games I hit so much better which is why heaps of offence has happened on day 2.

There was some fun games on day 2 and LOTS of gran slams hit making big come backs happen

the Giants gave the dodgers a scare in the 8th down 6-1 brang it back to 6-5 in the 8th. almost tied it but couldn't. but the dodgers slipped away and won 8-5

in the game of the day the Angels BP completely blows it against the Astros and implodes. Fowler hit a 2 run homer in the 8th which made it look like the Angels were on their way to the first win of the year with a 6-3 lead..

but Altuve hits a grand slam in the 8th and the Astros win the game 7-6 Angels were in control the entire game until then.

Twins up 4-1 then Olson hits a Gran slam to go up 5-4. but the Twins hit back straight away and win the game 8-7 . and for the 2nd straight day Texas blow a 3-0 lead early. and lose 4-3

So day 2 was full of offence and comebacks ! lets see if my Theory is right when more day games are played again. if not then I may have just had rust!

                  I have a 3 year old and a 9 month old..

I have 3 hours a night to myself before I go to bed.. that is my time. I play 2 games a night. There is always time to fit things in. I probably sacrifice sleep to have that time on my own. but the kids are in bed between 8 an 9pm and I am all good for that time.

I enjoy playing this way looking forward to different match ups different stadiums and knowing that every stat has been created by me!

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider

So after re-installing MLB 16,17,18 and going back and playing some 19 (never deleted that one). It truly is cool to feel, see and experience the incremental progression the game has taken in terms of gameplay, animations, ball physics and presentation.

                    Some observations:

                    1. Yes, I miss the heck out of season mode. Huge swing and kiss taking that out to put in March To October.

                    2. I really dislike the “phases” user interface they put in. Why? Well I think I would be very cool with it if they never would have taken out the great league recap screen which was last seen on MLB 17 when you could see the days pitching matchups around the league, game recaps/scores around the league and scroll through them in conjunction with the “Inside The Show Radio Show”. It also listed who’s hot and who’s not. The removal of this immersive feature in hindsight is absolutely freaking mind boggling.

                    3. The color palette on MLB 18 is nothing short of stunning. IMO it has the best presentation ticker (love, love love the black background on the score ticker vs the white one we have on 20). The colors of everything (uniforms, parks, score bugs etc) are simply bursting from the screen.

                    4. Harold Reynolds was great and it is such a shame he could no longer commit to the team after just one year (MLB 17). DeRosa makes me cringe.

Those are some small but for me impactful things I have noticed.

But make no mistake.....gameplay is supreme on MLB 20.

I have settled into 5 franchises which I will be playing over the next several years.

                    Yankees Year 5 (MLB 20)
                    1980’s Strat-O-Matic fantasy draft Royals Year 1 (MLB 20)
Bacons Fictional Marlins YR1 (set to start this week on MLB 20)
                    1993 Yankees/Marlins Year 1 (MLB 20)
1990-2007 Fantasy Flashback Giants Year 1 (MLB 18)

Of course we will play various classic rosters as well and simply enjoy this series to the fullest.

I have seen videos of MLB 20 in action on the PS5.....holy mother of god.

So my goal is to purchase a PS5 disc version Christmas 2021 so I can play 17-20 on the PS5 for several years and hope....hope by 2023 The Show 23 will be impossible to pass up.

I believe after going back and doing this exercise it reminded me that the series truly took off on the PS4 starting with 17 but 18 was where it truly started feeling gameplay wise next generation and refined with 20 being the defining version.

Ok. Before I made the original post, I had been holding L2 and releasing on the pitchers first move. I tried L1 and nothing happened, so I am assuming you meant L2?

Anyways, I have been testing with 2 baserunners and 1 catcher. The catcher has 74 arm str, 52 arm acc, 64 react, 50 fielding. Baserunner A has 85 spd, 76 stl, 67 agg and baserunner B has 66 spd, 75 stl, 50 agg.

I have done 5 tests on each, with no CPU slide step. The pitcher throws 94 mph 4sfb and 91 mph cutter, so not a whole bunch of gas.

Baserunner A has been 3/5 (decent) but Baserunner B has been nabbed every time, even when the pitcher throws a breaking ball. With the catcher's mediocre arm, I would expect at least one attempt to be successful. Is it that I shouldn't be trying to steal with someone with such a low speed?

FYI, every attempt is 2nd base.

Pre load the steal by pressing L2 and you should feel a rumble. Then hold down L1 and release the the moment the pitcher makes his move home.

With a good to great base stealer you will get a great jump most of the time. Also the best counts to steal are typically:

                          2-0
                          3-0
                          3-1

Man I’ve been watching a ton of these replays on 16 17 18. It is cool to see the little things just get better in this game.

20 is so damn good but from 16 on this game has been so amazing. I do miss some of the features on the old games you’re making want to download them and play them. Lol.

And man I need to start watch these streams live again and chat with you guys. I’ve been so busy lately so only have time to play the game but I miss the live streams. I will be back. Lol
