Dude if you start over you are officially certifiable in my book.

Replay the game and keep going man. 162 games + postseason is a lot, there’s a decent chance that something random like that that really isn’t in your control is gonna happen somewhere along the way. Down 3 runs the game still could’ve went either way, there’s no way of knowing. You’re not restarting the game to cheat.

Your season is only ruined now if you let this ruin it for you.

Ha ha. But unfortunately I was rear ended about 6 months ago and suffered whiplash and a severe concussion. As a result I couldn’t play for about 5 months and just getting back into it now. So I’ve only played 16 games of both my Reds and Yankees franchises so not a lot invested yet. Admittedly I’ve kind of lost the feel and momentum of my seasons as it’s been so long since I was able to play. So maybe this is as sign to delete and start fresh?

Have you ever been losing a game and shut it off out of frustration (rage)? If so, don’t you feel like you cheated and ruined your season?

Okay guys need some help. I just got the PS5 hooked up and put the Show in. It installed and copied but I don’t have any of my franchises. It says nothing is saved when I click continue. I don’t have anything in the cloud. What do I do?

Just go back to ps4 and save your franchise to the cloud. There is a option for that. Then it should be there on the ps5

First off man I’m glad you’re ok. I personally never turn off the game out of frustration. Now I have simmed the rest of a game before if I got pissed and am getting killed.

If you play 162 games you are going to have those games that just suck but that’s baseball. That’s what makes the show so damn good. Take the good with the bad.

And in your situation with the game getting turned off mid game just start over man and don’t worry about it. Living in Florida I’ve had plenty of game shut off in the middle from a quick power outage from the thunderstorms.

The ones that suck the most are when you’ve been on a cold streak and haven’t been able to hit **** than you get hot and score a ton of runs early and boom there goes the power. Lmao that pisses me off. But seriously just keep playing man it won’t affect the rest of your season.

So, on the subject of restarting...

If you guys have to quit mid game and resume later, do you find there to be any issues with gameplay when doing this?

I am always skeptical to quit and resume as I don’t want to throw off some back end coding that makes the game “feel” completely different upon restarting later.

Anyway, just curious if anything is noticeable to you guys? I’ll hang up and listen..

I don’t stop mid game to much but what I do is just put the ps4 on rest mode and start it back up at the same spot as where I left. I like that much better than saving mid game

I have to do this quite a bit. The 2 biggest things I have seen are,
                    1. I have had an injury pre mid game save that looked like it was going to be serious and then when I come back and finish the game no injury at all post game

                    2. I have saved mid game after a rain delay. Then when I come back I have had a second rain delay in the later innings. Talk about messing with your staff.

Oh wow. Glad you are ok Burgess.

16 games in? Starting over is a very viable option if you feel it will allow you to get back into your universe better. But at the same time....I have picked up and started older franchise files I started back on MLB 17 and am having a blast. I simply go through all the teams, transactions and get myself caught up and get going.

I just know you......you have restart syndrome.

Look up on you tube how to transfer your data from your PS4 to your PS5 via ethernet cable.

You really should become a PS Plus member. It is only $50 bucks a year, your get free games every month, you get cloud storage (I also use a 2TB external HDD) so I have dual control of all my save files. I have dozens upon dozens of rosters and franchise files I never want to lose.

I also heard when you transfer your PS4 MLB The Show 20 files it keeps intact your Sounds of the Show so you do not have to set them all up again. That is huge. I have both 19 and 20 fully set up with SOTS and actually have started the process of setting up my SOTS on 18 now as well (yeah I gotta have it because it is that good).

I use the feature all the time. In fact I'm using it right now in my carry over from 2014. I rarely notice any difference when I come back, and the few differences I do notice align with the rate that my players change inning to inning. Sometimes, guys just Jeckel and Hyde you midgame.

I've had 1 happen to me a few times without a midgame save. One time, my ace got smacked in the head with a line drive, he was down on the ground writhing. Taken out of the game immediately, yet at the end of the game no injury. I took the win. A few games before another one of my starters went down for the season with a fractured skull on a soft foul ball. My team had quite a few injuries that year.

It is possible to have 2 rain delays, it's happened to me, again without a save and quit. It's just really rare.

The only negative I've noticed about using a save and quit is that it doesn't save game highlights and replays from the earlier pre-save part of the game.

Thanks Armour. I still get headaches if I play too long so I can usually only play a few innings at a time. But yes, you know me too well (unfortunately for my start over-itis). But, at 57 years old, I have no plans to buy a ps5 or any more The Show games, so I am going to start over and begin new storylines for my franchises. Maybe I’ll post updates like you do to help me stay motivated and to keep me from starting over. Hold me accountable!!! Starting my Reds franchise later today. Wish me luck!! And thanks again for all of your work in regards to your sliders and your helpful advice. I wouldn’t play the game without your sliders

Thanks, Armor. I googled it this morning and think I know what to do. I was wondering how the SOTS would do with the PS5 if it carried over to the game. I am glad that it will carry over that cause I hate to take the time to do that again. I'm going to try tonight after work. I read that I have to be a PS Plus member to save it to the cloud.
