In regards to your power and non power hitter breakdown, what do you consider a power hitter? 80 or more for power?

70 or more.

A power rating of 70 is good. 80 is very good, 90 plus is elite. Also keep in mind the quirks match up of that particular AB vs the pitcher, the situation, and how god that player is going (hot streak or cold streak). Lot’s of factors outside of the rating to consider as well.

man this just shows the randomness and realism of this game with these sliders.
Nationals had a 9-2 lead against Miami going into the 5th. then Miami just went nuts hitting and then a gran slam took them to a 10-9 lead within the 6th innings!! they went on and won the game 13-10

that sort of thing really would happen in the real world too. no other sports games like this would let a bad team come back against a good team from 9-2 down and just blast the other team with 11 unanswered runs.

the Blue Jays have the injuries bug right now. and the reds have now lost 3 starters in their rotation after the 3-1 start! Injuries most certainly happen. once again adding to realism

Armor, do you have any other house rules in your franchise? Like if a pitcher drains his energy or goes into the red? I’m thinking about having the bullpen count for 2 days if they go 2 innings in one game.

Everything I do is on the OP....we just aded that injury matrix which I am very excited about.

Good morning Show Freaks!!!!


This afternoon we will be giving our first Yankees Year 6 Update since the season began. April is in the books and we have some great stories already brewing in Bomber Land!!!

Also we have begun a Bacon Marlins Franchise and are already 17 games into the season! This is also an every pitch every inning franchise that will be played on MLB 20 long term. If you have not used Bacon’s Fictional Roster yet......you simply owe it to yourself to dive in. It is without a doubt the best fictional roster experience for any sports game in history....ever created. This roster has been a labor of love that started back on MLB 17 and has evolved into what it is today. A fictional baseball world rich in detail, personality and flair. Truly a new world and it will make MLB 20 feel brand new to you. The only problem is trying to decide what team to use.

They all have unique traits and styles. I do not suggest using the universal DH. If you take a NL team....let the pitchers hit! Trust me on that.

If your a traditional AL guy with your real world franchise I suggest going over to the N.L. and taking a shot in the senior league! And Vice a Versa.


So let’s talk about the forth coming MLB 21 on the PS4 (I do not own a PS5 and won’t till most likely the end of 2021 unless retailers get stocked this summer. I refuse to play one penny over the $499 suggested retail for a disc version PS5).

If.....IF the roster import function is still available for the PS4 version of 21 I will be purchasing the game. I have no doubt the gameplay will be incredible as usual. But I simply will not leave behind all the classic rosters.

My plan would be to continue the Hardball Classic Series on 21 with all the amazing rosters we have and use the Strat-O-Matic 1980’s roster to do a “redraft” world for lack of a better term. Meaning draft a team, play a season and then rinse and repeat.

My fingers are crossed that Y2Y makes it’s return in 2022.

So there you have it. If we can import rosters for 21 I am in and will of course develop a new slider set for the PS4 version of the game (I am sure will apply to the PS5 version as well). We will continue our Yankees and Marlins franchises on 20 for many years though...make no mistake.

Speaking of random, I started year 2021 of my Giants franchise (every pitch every game) and went 5-0 to start the season. Then went on a 6 game road trip through Colorado and San Diego and got beat up, went 1-5 and those 5 losses were not pretty. But thats why this game is so good.

Indians as Yankees (Indians up 1-0 in the series).

It can happen when a player gets old. It can happen even when they are considered young due to injury’s, wear and tear on their body because of how hard they may play (Griffey Jr). Or mentally they can lose it (happens a lot at the MLB level actually, AAA is full of head cases).

I would lime the Show to better represent some surprise regression based on lack of performance, or too many injuries.

But their progression and regression is not bad and I use some house rules Warm Wind came up with to counteract some premature regression purely based on age if they are coming off a great season.

The great thing is the game gives you the ability to do whatever you want with 30 team control.

These top few sliders threads are the place to be for real fans of the game. Trust me on that. I skim the main page here and there, but I spend most of my time with these guys on the sliders threads.
