hey guys! im in my last game of the season, of my 2021 franchise with the rangers on mlb the show... and i just wanted to show you the madness in the standings....

crazy!! every game every pitch!

we can win the division, get a wild card spot, play a tie breaker or go out without playoffs!

What’s the best way to setup 8-man bullpen for cpu controlled teams? Is SU2 spot “broken”?

In my experience it is used but nearly enough as we would like. You can try abandoning it and trying the second SU in a MRP slot

How do you set it up Armour?

Obviously someone has to be in the LRP slot to free up a MRP slot if your are rolling with 13 pitchers.

Try two LRP with guys 40 stamina or less.

Should work better.

The logic behind LRP is the programming thinks it's a SP in those slots so it's programmed to give him starting pitcher innings over a season. It doesn't matter who you put in the LRP. Programming is going to give him Starter innings per season. That's why you see 3+ innings and why the cpu uses them so much.

I found putting guys with 40 or less stamina was resulting in them being pulled much quicker.

The bottom line Forme is this is an inherent flaw of this game going on….forever. Bad bullpen logic. It is ignored year after year after year.

I love The Show but there are things that have no reason not to be improved….bit are consistently overlooked.

We are on the third console generation since I started playing this series and 22’s bullpen logic is as bad as 20,19,16,15 does not matter.

I don’t give passes for poor AI. And people want to play single team control with the lineups the CPU rolls out?

Hey if that turns you on…..have at it (not talking about you Forme).

There is no wrong way to play. And thank god we have an excellent 30 team control option to keep things in check around the league and in my case have the ability to dice roll contract extensions, trades etc. it opens up the universe for me.

Other folks don’t want to bother, or ha e no time or whatever….that’s cool.

Options are the spice of life.

But lord the bullpen logic is basically unfixable unless you use a second controller and manage it during the game which I am not going to do. That’s ridiculous and SDS is has clearly neglected the CPU AI in many areas of the game. Please don’t trot out “improved CPU AI” when in fact it’s as poor as before in trades, no contract extensions….lineups….bullpen….laundry list of annoyances we play thru.

The game itself is great on the diamond and what keeps us playing 1000’s of
Hours.

But they deserve some heat on these issues and how many times do we have to politely say:

Improve it????

100% agree. The gameplay, animation, and somewhat variety are good and add some slider adjustments really opens up variety. I am with you on if they would just go in and clean up franchise flaws logic wise, this game would be unbeatable. After this long, a pass is no longer logical.

30 team, single team whatever the players preference, it's what makes the game enjoyable for the player. I love playing this game, but I want to get deep into seasons and therefore, I need to manage mode. Not everyone's cup of tea and I wish I could play more because the variety is more open in played games then manage. I can plainly see it between my MoM games, your streams, and my own played games.

My view is, I'm hoping with this new gen, they're working on a WOW iteration for 23 or at most 24. Still got to put a product out so I get that. However a WOW iteration needs to happen

That is the issue. Luckily, we do have 30 team control. But that could be intimidating to new players or general players that just want to play a realistic sim game. We shouldn’t have to play that way to get that.

100% agree. I would love nothing more than simply playing my team and not having any micromanaging duties to do. Am immersive intelligent AI is the unicorn in sports games yet it feels like we have gone nowhere from the PS3 generation to now with The Show and Madden in terms of WOW AI.

I would even go as far to say that AI as a whole as slightly regressed. And we continue to not only accept it, but make excuses for it. And why? Why should we make excuses for EA and SDS? We owe them nothing.

It is 2022, I am fortunate enough to own a PS5, and I'm playing the bulk of my video game football experience on my PS3. If that doesn't speak volumes...
