I’m not really good at the show. I’m mostly early on offspeed pitches and late on fastballs. What sliders should I change first to help me hit? Should I think of changing difficulty lower at some point?

If you're still struggling, then I'd absolutely drop down your difficulty level - there is nothing wrong with that. It's all about what works for you and what you enjoy playing. Now Playing

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
Yankees Year 6 still going strong. We are in September and marching to October!
Trying to win our 3rd straight World Series and 4th overall in 6 seasons.
Once we complete Year 6 we will go to the off-season and then start up Year 7 in February 2023.
We will focus heavily on Playing our single season Yankees journey called “the Captain”
Currently we are in 1995 which will be followed by:
1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000
No....it is not an every pitch every inning but we are playing at least 100 pus games in these seasons.
Thanks to our amazing roster community we have a decades worth of content to keep us playing MLB 20 literally forever.....and I am deadly serious when I say this....I am going to probably always play MLB 20.
I really gave 22 an honest run.....it just can’t compare to this game for me personally.
Anyway.....I know a lot of you are playing 20 still. I look forward to finishing up Yankees Year 6 and we will mix in some Fantasy Flashback 1990-2007 Giants along with The Captain Series when we stream MLB 20 the rest of this year. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
I have come to a point in my "gaming", that I much prefer historical season/classic roster play rather than using modern day players.
There is a ton not to like about real sports and the modern day athlete in 2022 IMO.
That being said, I have uninstalled and traded in MLBTS22 for NBA2K23.
If Armor's streams tell me anything, it may be the best sports game ever made.
My video gaming time will now be invested in the following:
On MLBTS 20
Single season play
Years 1998 to 2007 with the DBacks
Their inaugural year
+ a separate "file"
Single season play
Years 1998 to 2007 with the Rays
Their inaugural year
NBA2K23:
Once all the draft classes are created, I plan to start a 1981 chise with the Pistons (Isiah Thomas' rookie year)
+
a 1996 chise with the 76ers (Iverson's rookie year).
I am still not sure how this new "era play" works, but hoping I can start (separate files) with those 2 years, and eventually have access to all the real draft classes from 81 on. Armor, can you shed some light on how these draft classes will work in franchising?

Ok it does not work like that.
Era My League works like this:
The Magic/Bird Era - If you choose to start here you choose any team you want to play as (and you can do all team control if you wish) and start in the 1983/1984 season. So for example you want to be the Pistons? You start in that season with Pistons. You will then use the 1984 historical draft class with Jordan, Hakeem etc. And you will have all the exact rules and salaries from that era and as you play each season....you will Load in the 1985 draft class, 1986 etc etc etc. You are rewriting history. You can choose to allow expansion teams to come in (1987 Miami Heat and Hornets) or not. You get to vote on the new rules that came into play as you progress thru the years. It is entirely up to you. The roster community for the PS5 has two guys named Clutch and MJ Wizards. They are both fantastic. MJ Wizards is currently updating and filling out all the teams from the Bird/Magic Era and Clutch is currently doing the Jordan Era. They do there own thing (not working together) Clutch is also going to fill out the historical draft classes. The stock historical draft classes have many of the key players but also a bunch of fictional guys. Up to you if you want to wait around for the filled in classes or just roll with the out of the box historical draft classes.
If you choose to start in the Jordan Era you will begin in the 1991/1992 season and load in the 1992 historical draft class and go from there.
If you choose the Kobe Era you start in the 2002/2003 season and load in the 2003 draft class (Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Mello) and go from there.
Each Era has specific presentation elements from that time (it is amazing) courts, uniforms, play styles, and the actual real schedules of each season as you play along.
The customization options you have at your finger tips is unparalleled in console sports gaming. You can set everything to exactly how you want. You can control as much or as little as you want.
And the gameplay is second to none.....and that is saying a lot.
Anyway I don’t want to get off track here. I have a 2K23 slider thread up and running in that forum.
Word of advice.....just stick to the slider and roster forums there. The general forum is nuts and full of sweaty palm babies whining about everything wrong with the game.
But I am with you.....I play classic rosters 95% of my time with sports games. Now Playing on PS5:

This was exactly the breakdown I was looking for...thanks Armor!
I am going to lean toward waiting on the historical draft classes.
Feels like it is worth the wait.
Change of plans then!
Guess I'll run w/ the following:
Magic/Bird era = Pistons
Jordan era = Knicks
Kobe era = ???? Spurs or Heat maybeCardinals Nation - For The Lou

Yankees are now in a commanding 6.5 game lead and their magic number is now 3 games to clinch the AL East for the 6th consecutive year.
I look forward to streaming our entire postseason run and hopefully potential threepeat!!!Last edited by Armor and Sword; 10-05-2022, 10:33 PM.Now Playing on PS5:

Maybe a dumb ? And not sure why I even thought if asking it, but here it goes…
When using 30 team control, does it matter what difficulty level I have the AI set at in their profile settings?

Armor,
Are you still using the injury matrix and card modifier system for your Yankee long-term franchise?
Also, for MLBTS 20, CPU bullpen set up is simply making sure that any high stamina relievers ARE NOT placed in any of the long slots, correct?

I copy my exact profile to create a CPU profile….only difference is the mode settings are all auto for CPU except lineups.

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
Heartbreaking end to year 6.
Yankees (102-60) get swept right out of the ALDS 3-0 by the Red Sox (wild card 97-65).
Veteran Justin Upton was a wrecking ball hitting 3 HR’s in the series.
Game 1 - 2-1
Game 2 - 7-5
Game 3 - 2-0
Just a tough end to a long journey. The Yankees were attempting to become a threepeat team like the 98-00 Yankees.
It was not to be.
I will post final 2022 player stats, standings and post season results on the News Wire.
We will then stream the off-season and have an off-season write up.
Year 7 will begin sometime in February of 2023!!!
