Afraid to say it....I had to punt on 23 and go back to 20 full time (modern and classic gameplay).

No matter what I did (your sliders included), I just couldn't balance the game to my liking.

20 I can just plug in your sliders, play and never look back.

23 required so much tinkering, and something still feels off to me (user pitcher vs cpu hitter) regardless of slider combinations.

Just gave up and went back to the GOAT.

Totally get it.

For me with the modern game...I love MLB 23 big time. Hitting is so amazing.....pitching I have no issues really other than ****ting the bed with my Yankees in the ALDS vs Cleveland LOL.

I am very much looking forward to playing some Winter Classics with classic rosters in post season mode come October and hitting that Yankees 1985 Season Replay hard next Spring along with Yankees YR2 on MLB 23.

All good!!!!

And I have zero urge to pick up MLB 24....no need.

Was playing 24 a lot, but lack of classic teams (aside from Alltime teams which gets boring for me) made me go back to 20. Love the gameplay, classic team selections, and traditional rules. I'll take this over 100 more animations any day...

1975 Turn Back The Clock Post Season Mode

Dr Cj2K's 1980 Post Season Mode.


We will begin with the Big Red Machine and 1975. We already played the WC game as the Yankees shutout the Royals 2-0 behind a Complete Game Shutout from Catfish Hunter.

These are gems in the vast selection of rosters on MLB 20. And no MLB The Show game captures the pageantry of classic baseball better than MLB 20.

Hope to see some of you when we stream. Typically games will be one a day in the evening.

Took home a used copy of MLB 20 for $10 today. What should I do first when I start the game, to truly experience the GOAT of MLBTS for the first time?
Besides dialing in your sliders obviously

My long term project is to play a classic franchise, trying to deliver a ring to Ichiro. Any roster recommendations for that? Anything I should adjust in the sliders on OP to account for early 00s baseball?

Keep up to great work, still love 23 with your sliders as well.

I updated the Yankees Year 8 New wire to simply say we have a Year 8 Spring Training Preview Coming Soon in December.

I am so excited to get back at it on MLB 20 for 2025 with this epic franchise. And we will be doing some other classic roster gameplay as well all thru 2025 and all on MLB 20.

The GOAT.

Last night I started my Angels franchise, naturally now only with default rosters, to see what Sho, Trout, a close to retirement Albert and a MVP level rated Rendon can achieve. First time I'm intending to play every pitch of every game, incl. some of your house rules from the OP. This will be my sports gaming for the better part of next year, as I'm targeting to get in 3-4 games a week.

Sweeeeeet. It truly is an amazing game. I would say the only thing 23 and 24 had over it for my money were:

Better bat sounds
Slightly better defense (especially in the OF but not something that ruins MLB 20 at all)
Fresh presentation and new booth (really well done on 23 and 24 IMO) but I have Sounds of the Show back and that totally immerses me into my franchises.

Look....no question 23 and 24 are find games.....but 20 is the total package for me...and yes I like the older scouting better. New scouting is good.....but we lost a scout and I don't get enough info on more players....anyway not game breaking at all on the newer games but I expected a heck of lot more on the PS5 and we simply have not gotten it at all.

SCEA needs....really needs to break away from the last gen to move this game forward in terms of expanded rosters and better depth inside franchise in terms of team building and scouting.

But playing every pitch every inning....IS THE REAL FRANCHISE experience. All your stories and immersion are on the diamond. And nothing does that better than The Show.

Anyway MLB 20 forever!!!!

Armor, have you gone to auto throw and base running on 20? I really liked it for 23 and will definitely try it when I get back into all of my franchises with 20. Can not put down CFB yet!

Yes we went full auto on 20 after being converted to that style on MLB 23!!

I also can’t put CFB 25 down!!!! But we have started The Fantasy Flashback Giants YR3 and it’s greet to be back on MLB 20.
