Stream is up live for anybody wanting to kick it and talk baseball as my 1-2 Mets try to take out the Phillies.

PS: If anybody got some tips on getting more punch outs it would be much appreciated as I think I'm still trying to get used to the HOF difficulty with classic pitching.

To me you seem to be a much more advanced hitter than a lot of us and you have way more games under your belt than me. You also seem to adjust to slider tweaks very quickly. Basically it's you dominating the game.

I’m envy you. I played out a full 162 gm franchise last year (didn’t sum a single plate appearance) on default sliders and my offense was admiringly too high for real life but still in the realm of “somewhat reasonable”.

This year has been a completely different story for me, which is exactly why I’ve been in the slider forums recently. One key may be the hitting interface. I’ve experienced a surge using zone, but perhaps directional has stayed more or less consistent? Seeing that A&S suggests directional (which I assume you use also?) you may be experiencing less of an effect.

I love this game , and yeah that's probably my own fault for playing 5 games daily for the last 8 months or so . Maybe u remember i had no life even before this corona virus lol . But again in the show 19 I was being challenged with the same pitch speed and pretty much the same sliders as here , something is just off here and I'm sure there's a fix for me . There's just so many Damn things that you can adjust here and without knowing exactly what sliders need adjusting to help me out personally I'll still be here adjusting sliders by the time the show 21 comes out for ps5 [emoji38] Even today I went back to play 3 games on the show 19 and hit a big fat 0 home runs and had amazing challenging games , then went back to the show 20 and crushed 5 homers in my next 3 games with a boat load of runs and hits . I hate that this is happening to me and that I'm becoming that annoying guy who complains and constantly says it's easy. Just sucks cus I know this game is amazing and I just want to enjoy it like the majority of people here do

Y'all must be really good! Haha, I'm having very realistic games and honestly really struggling on the offensive side of the ball. Getting over 3 runs in a game has been a struggle for me lately.

However, my pitching has been killing it! I know some people have struggled getting strikeouts but my SP5 got 10Ks in 5.2 and was blowing people away but his control wasnt great so his pitch count was too high to continue

Armor, how you getting used to the ball cursor after every pitch? I don’t mind it but I wish it didn’t come up when you hit the ball.

After playing tons of exhibition games to get used to the “clean screen” approach I finally started my franchise. The Yankees are my favorite team so that’s who I’m using.

Obviously opening series is against the Os so take it FWIW. Won opening day 10-0. Good mix of homers and hits. Of course I lost DJLM for the entire season in the first inning...

Second game I was down 6-2 after Severino got shelled but I was able to come back and win it 8-6! Obviously my offense is strong. The lineup is unforgiving and the Os pitching is awful. Love these sliders and this approach.

It is what it is unless they patch back in our toggle “pitch callout” on or off. For some insane reason it was removed. I still do not know if this was an intentional design decision or a simple oversight.

I have moved past it. But it still irks me. Pisses me off to be frank. It’s not like them to do something like this a force us to have it on.

It is mind-boggling if it is intentional.

Welp Mets took the L 6-2. Wasn't a great game from the Mets on either side of the field. Zach Eflin threw 8 shutout innings... (smh Mets) while Matz gave us 5 IP, 5 Ks, 3 BBs, on 9 Hs. Phillies were definitely using other ways to score besides the home run and I think they only hit one or two all game.

My side really couldn't get anything going till the 9th down 6-0 when Alonso went deep for his first HR of the year. Buckle in folks gonna be a long season for your boy.

I think the foul frequency and power drop to 4 has done me wonders though and really might be something to think about for those that might say they're seeing to many HRs.

Game 2 of the series vs the Phillies starts at 11:45 PM ET for anyone who wants to watch the misery of the Mets continue. (Nah but seriously I'm having a great time playing. Scheming out what move we can make to make this team a contender and not let prime Degrom rot away)

This has become my area of focus now. I’m thinking that it’s a timing thing. I’m second to last in strikeouts and only the Orioles have fewer punch outs. I think a drop it timing is probably better than a drop in the power slider.

What really blows my mind is that it's displayed twice, once in the middle of the screen and once on the score box in the corner. Pick one, but not both.

You guys need to learn all of your pitchers release points. I strike out the cpu with relative ease. At one time I was even considering moving control to 4 on the human side because of the amount of Ks I was getting.

For me with Classic pitching I see good strikeout numbers from my pitchers who have a K/9 75 or above. Guys rated above 80 do really well. Otherwise strikeouts are hard to come by and you likely will finish in the bottom 10 in your league from what I've noticed because most guys on a staff won't have high K/9 ratings. You just gotta move past it in my opinion. We have this discussion every year.

Analog is too easy to hit spots and dominte with lesser rated pitchers. One of the core tenets of our best slider makers is staying as close to default as possible. I tested sliders using analog pitching in 19 and to make it challenging enough I had to knock control and consistency down to 2 also. But in doing so I noticed a different feel in gameplay which was less organic for me and more "stat chasing". It definitely impacted the game in ways which felt unnatural for me.
