Topside said it well in his response, there are some nasty pitchers in Bacon's set. That said, there are some really BAD rostered pitchers too. The overalls may not look bad, but there plenty of mid-70s OVR guys with major flaws (like low BB/9 ratings) that make them stand-out.
The cool thing...if you crunch the numbers in his spreadsheet. The average ratings for MLB quality players fall right in-line with what SDS considers to be "league average" (which is 60 for many ratings). So, it's not biased towards pitching....it's just distributed differently with more extremes. As you work your way through the season, you'll start seeing more "mixed matchups" (like a number 1 SP vs a number 3) which should lead to even more game-to-game outcome variety.
The roster plays a lot like 90s baseball to me...a really diverse mix of players and player abilities.
