I was playing on zone all this time. Moved to directional today. Now I see how much user skill negates actual player skill in the games I've been playing. Safe to say I won't be going back to zone

I'm playing the All Star games for the 1st time ever in years of playing the Show.

I really like the move to 6 on pitch consistency, I’ve been using that for a while. I am playing with timing at 4 rather than solid bits though. I feel like these are close to the same thing, though, since lowering timing to 4 will inadvertently lower solid hits.

There is a difference and I prefer the Solid Hits 4 change over Timing 4 because you are still hitting the ball with Solid Hits at 4 just the outcome is different. I’m not that good at hitting and Timing 4 would have me swinging and missing too often. My strikeouts would be way over League average with the low vision Yankees! Each to their own though and I’m happy to hear as many views as possible in this thread.

There is a difference and I prefer the Solid Hits 4 change over Timing 4 because you are still hitting the ball with Solid Hits at 4 just the outcome is different. I’m not that good at hitting and Timing 4 would have me swinging and missing too often. My strikeouts would be way over League average with the low vision Yankees! Each to their own though and I’m happy to hear as many views as possible in this thread.

To each their own. I'd like to see slightly more strikeouts, and still see a high percentage of mis-thrown balls get smoked. Timing at 4 and solid hits at default seems to do that for me.

Also of note, Armor the one last thing I've always been hanging onto was that I played with manual fielding. In my last game I gave auto fielding a try for a few innings and I have to say, I did like it. I'm not 100% I'll play all my games just yet with auto fielding but I like being able to use the broadcast camera with it and seeing the ball fielded as realistically as possible (and with no blue circle or intrusive ball marker).

Yup, I was manual too. Decided to give auto a try. I always wanted my user input, but how smooth auto is is awesome. I do manual throwing, so that kinda gives me a user feel.

I’ve been burned so many times by auto fielding! In a 2 strike count on Bryce Harper I do not want an extreme shift! He hit a grounder to 3b for double 7 out 10 times lol. Inside change up in the dirt and he always seems to poke it opposite field

Going forward with one additional change and that is going back to pitch speed at 9/8. Was seeing too many walks and too few k’s with it at 8/7. Maybe it was just a coincidence but not sure

At 9/8 I feel a little uncomfortable with guys throwing 95 mph+ as I should. I REALLY have to be ready and guess right if I want to hit a high 90’s heater - makes it that much more rewarding when I do.

I like feeling that adrenaline I feel when I’m at 9/8 and don’t feel like it’s too easy when I do get a hit.

My challenge to you is try to move to a pitch speed that makes you feel a little out of your comfort zone. Then I think you will have found your sweet spot.

I’m actually starting my franchise over with 9/8 and not looking back. It can’t get any better for me than this to go along with the changes we discussed a bit earlier.

That doesn't have anything to do with auto or manual fielding - the shift is controlled by the "Defensive Shift" option. When that's on manual, it won't shift on its own.

What roster did you decide to use?

Mkharsh33 v9.0. I think it’s really solid and uses roster resource (fangraphs) which is the most accurate roster base I have seen. I go and make my own adjustments like putting players like Severino, Mancini, Sale, Verlander, etc. back on their MLB teams as I like to start my franchises with everyone healthy. Then make a few tweaks to lineups/rotations for all 30 teams to my liking (not too many as his roster is really good)

I have been thinking about a bump to starter stamina as well. My starters are almost always out of gas by the sixth inning it seems.

Hey Armor been awhile. I had a couple questions for you. Ive been playing a season with the Mets with all your sliders as is and with timing and power to 4 for the Human/CPU to keep HRs at a respectable level but im using quick counts and playing with Batting and Pitching on All Star. I'm into early June now and on All Star ive noticed that I am hitting doubles into the gaps quite often and homers like crazy almost with ease. Unless I'm just not used to the Mets being this good lol Alonso and Conforto lead the entire league with 27 and 26 long balls respectively. Also I'm not giving up base on balls barely at all. I'm ahead of everyone else in this category I have 120 BB given up closest to me is the Rockies with 212 thats a huge gap there. I know i shouldnt focus on stats like this and I try to just enjoy the game but its glaring to me something is off in a couple categories. And it has been a blast for me on All Star I just feel like I'm too good at times. I'm just wondering if theres something im missing or doing wrong or if theres a way to make it so I am giving up more walks. Maybe control or consistency or playing full count games? I tried to play on HOF really really did. But everytime I do im getting crushed on pitching and even though the hitting side is challenging and fun I am averaging 10-15 walks on HOF batting. Lots of bases loaded walks and Grand Slams. Personally I'm not having as much fun on HOF. Just odd. It feels kinda like Madden where All Star (All Pro) is just a touch easy and HOF (All Madden) is just a touch harder than I would like. I was wondering if you would have any slider suggestions for me using All Star because I'm really loving the game. I want to use all your sliders as is but I know that by playing on All Star things arent going to be the same. So any help here is very much appreciated. Thanks man and stay safe out there.
