The L1 stolen base thing is nice! Should make it to where if you want to take a chance and try to fool the CPU with a slower runner it is actually possible whereas just tapping L2 to preload you have NO shot with anyone less than 70 spd.Last edited by hunterdawgs10; 05-02-2020, 09:14 PM.Comment

Here are the numbers and results after two months of play, one with your changes. Should I stick it out or do you think more changes are warranted?

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
Okay so on HOF classic pitching, I notice when the opposing team starts heating up, there is almost nothing I can do to stop it.
I'm curious what y'alls strategy is when that happens, do you start throwing way outside of the zone? Do you attack the zone?JUUUUUUUST A BIT OUTSIDEComment

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
I usually stick to the game plan. I may use a mound visit or step off the rubber to boost pitcher's confidence and energy and really just to slow myself down and keep my mind engaged on the process when all else is unraveling, especially if I'm executing the process and they are just beating me. Other times I may see a flaw in my approach and then maybe it's time to adjust my strategy and then I just go by feel. But I always attack the zone. This may not be always right but it's what I do per my pitching philosophy.

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
Bo Bichette has done it yet again ! He is on a tear , coming into this game he is on a 21 game hitting streak . I have tied my personal best at 21 from the Show 19 but King Bo breaks that record in style.
We took on the very dangerous and talented White Sox and Dallas Keuchel is putting up crazy numbers this season and is a legit CY Young candidate and has a ERA below 2 coming into this game. These white soxs always put a beat down on me and i hate playing them , i fear each batter .
Ryu takes the mound for us and Keuchel on the mound for the White Soxs , and just have a look at the Stud Bo Bichette and how he extends his hitting streak to 22 games now which also gives me a new personal best hitting streak . How awesome is this game , just love it !

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
I can't lose right now. I've had some absolutely insane comebacks the past week in my franchise. However, this one was a bit of a blowout...
JUNE 24, 2020 | CINCINNATI, OH
The Chicago Cubs belted eight home runs in an 18-4 drubbing of the Cincinnati Reds Wednesday afternoon, extending their winning streak to seven games. Steven Souza Jr., Victor Caratini, and Jason Kipnis hit back-to-back-to-back solo homers off of Reds starter Wade Miley in the top of the second inning to start the onslaught. Javier Baez and Kris Bryant were the only two positions players not to hit home runs. But despite not launching any longballs, both Cubs sluggers ended the day with impressive numbers.
Baez, who has to be in consideration for the NL MVP if he continues to play the way he has during the first half, finished with a double, triple and a pair or RBIs. Baez was thrown out at home in an attempted inside-the-park homerun.
Ian Happ and Steven Souza each homered twice and Tyler Chatwood enjoyed an abundance of run support on way to his 5th win of the year.
The Cubs racked up a total of 23 hits in the win and continue to be baseball's most potent offense. Their 153 home runs is the most in the Majors and 17 more than the next closest team (Oakland Athletics). The Cubs, like many other clubs last season, set a new team franchise record for home runs with 256. The Minnesota Twins set a new MLB record with 307 long balls. At the half way point in the season, the Cubs are set to shatter their single season franchise record for home runs and could possibly set a new mark for the league. An impressive feat for a National League team especially, considering they do not have the luxury of the designated hitter for most of their games.Comment

Seeing a lot of people on heaters in their Franchise. Man I couldn’t be the opposite lol.
5-15 in our last 20. It’s something different every game. Either my lineup can’t produce, my starter is completely off and gets shelled or the bullpen blows it in the late innings. Cannot buy one lately.
30th in average, bottom 5 bullpen, you name it, we’ve got it lol.Seattle Mariners
Las Vegas Raiders
Vancouver Canucks
Vancouver Whitecaps

Actually doing a Jays franchise right now. Their prospects were more MLB ready etc.
Boy was I wrong. One through 9 struggling, 4 different players at or under .200, every arm struggling except Ryu. Lowest bullpen ERA is 4.53.
I expected to be challenged for a WC position but at this point we’re fighting Baltimore to stay out of the basement of the AL East lol.Seattle Mariners

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
You absolutely should be aiming pitches outside the zone with regularity imo. I’m throwing outside the zone like 50% of the time at least. And not just when I’m getting hit, I mean almost all the time.
A few reasons for this:
1) You can get exceptional movement and location from stuff aimed off the zone, to the point where they are invariably some of your nastiest pitches.
2) As the pitcher, balls are yours to play with, that’s what they’re there for - they’re your three chances to get him to swing at a piece of trash and nub a slow roller to 3B or pop out into foul territory or something. Use them to your advantage. Don’t wait on poor accuracy to throw your balls for you, distribute them where they make sense, like a 0-2 brushback at a guy’s nose, a 2-2 changup in the dirt, three straight sliders away after getting up 0-2 with a couple of fastballs, etc.
3) I find allowing a walk or three is not nearly as bad as allowing hits. Yeah it’s still scary and you’re still in the stretch but man if you can get out of the inning you’ve still got that zero in the hit column. That’s just friggin huge compared to an inning with three hits allowed imo.
Plus everyone always lead the league in fewest BB allowed anyway, the more the better imo. Would much rather have a laborious inning with 1 hit 3 walks and 1 run on 38 pitches than I would let things slip away and allow a slew of hits on 16 pitches or whatever.
There’s also the very real chance there’s just nothing you can do. You don’t get the calls, you walk a guy you didn’t mean to, low confidence, error, boom five-run inning. Sometimes that’s just gonna happen. When it does I just start pitching to contact and pray for quick innings lol.Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.Comment
