the four games i played last night were great
as the Braves vs the Cardinals i Won 6-1, had to pull Soroka in the 9th with 1 out at 106 pitches
as the Braves vs the Phillies I lost 7-4, made a mistake pitching to Harper in the 7th with a base open in a tie ball game, 3-1 count and i should have walked him but i tried to paint the corner low and away and missed up
as the Angels I lost 5-3 to the Dodgers, Walker Buehler dominated this game
as The Braves i beat the Mets 7-3
fielding speeds and baserunner speeds look great with your settings. I also really like the boost to throwing to go with it.
Im not ready to move on errors yet as I had 3, 2, 0, 3 in the 4 games last night
Homeruns have been a little frequent though. 14 in 4 games last night. 7 for me and 7 for the cpu so at least there is balance

Yeah I have a sneaking suspicion that all that's changed between the difficulty levels this year is the contact slider, so in practical terms your CPU sliders are probably equivalent to mine. I just can't condone pulse pitching on anything lower than legendary. It's just too easy to get perfect inputs every single time.

If my hunch is correct, it should make multiple slider sets super easy to make. That's good news, I know that's been a popular feature of my sliders in the past.

I'd be able to assess this a lot better if I were playing the roster I'm more familiar with (my carry over) where I have a very clear idea of what results to expect. The trouble with balancing is that there are so many factors, and I would remind people that last year was one of the most homerun crazy years ever IRL. That has a massive impact on the rosters and also the results. I suspect your not going to see more than 5 home runs out of a 20 power guy still, there are just so many 50+ power guys out there now.

Thats a good take ....I’m using a combo of your sliders and Lowe’s as I Cpu games ect...and I’m lowering the power slider to 4.
The gameplay is so good this year ..and thanks again ..I always defer to You and Lowe and I usually get great results..

yes I used a combination of Lows and yours as well.

having pitching consistency to 6 and timing to 4 stopped the home run Darby games for me so far cut it down from 5 homers a game combined to 2 or 3 much better

          Re: TheWarmWind's Impact Sliders 2020

Another day of testing down, changes in the OP.

The change of CPU consistency up to 7 was made independently of all the home run talk on the main forums. It is a result of my own observations alone, but it is encouraging to see other data backing up the decision.

I'd been suspecting it needed to be moved up again for a few games and practice sessions, but the final straw was a rain game. Both team's pitchers took a hit to consistency (which is actually really cool) but while my pitcher had trouble hitting his spots and finding the zone, theirs (who had higher BB/9 AND higher control) was having trouble finding the catcher. Their was other data (mainly from practice sessions) but this was the most significant.

I was right about mechanical parity not being possible, just like last year. I could just crank up the contact slider for both parties, but that will get rid of some of the wonderfully low bat exit velocities I've been seeing, and reduce hit variety. Sigh, you are the bane of my existence contact slider.

            Re: TheWarmWind's Impact Sliders 2020

It seems like the CPU becomes too little of a threat at timing 4. They may need a straight buff over the player, just like last year. Changed back to 5 in the OP.

On the bright side, coronavirus has allowed me to pump out results at a much more results in a smaller timeframe.

Small tweak to the OP (basestealing ability back to 5). I once again remind people that I am still in the early testing phase, and not yet ready to declare these sliders version 1, so there will sometimes be this kind of back and forth on settings.

                Re: TheWarmWind's Impact Sliders 2020

I am thinking pretty hard about moving fielder run speed and reaction up to 6. Still have them both at 5 but with so many hard hit balls, especially through the infield, I've seen a large number of base hits that i felt like the fielder should have made a play on. The fielder speed, which you already have at 6 may help with some outfielders getting to balls in the gaps and foul territory that i feel they should be making plays on. The reaction to 6 to help infielders get to balls that it seems like they aren't even making the effort for, and because I've had a few bad animations play out in front of the plate between the pitcher and catcher. I had a dribbler down the first base line and the pitcher fielded the ball with the runner a few steps behind and took forever to toss the ball to first resulting in the runner being safe. Then on a dropped strike 3 call the catcher picked up the ball, took a few steps in front of the plate, double pumped, and a runner with 48 speed made it to first safely. I know i have my base runner speed up to 7 just like you, but that should not have happened.

I’m a big fan of using pulse pitching here, but also like Armor’s sliders since he uses auto fielding. How do you feel about using auto fielding with your set? I know you said it’s all just recommendations.

Should work fine. I see no reason why it shouldn't.

I'm going to be rolling with the current OP settings for a while, and settling into longer term testing. As such, I've declared the current OP version 1, and uploaded to the vault.

I'm going to start testing multiple skill levels. Normally I wouldn't do this this early, but I have a theory on what is the difference in skill levels this year. If I'm right, should make managing multiple skill levels super easy.

Hold your thumb above the button, and wait a while as you get used to the timing of the pulses. Nodding your head or slightly rocking back and forth can help. As the pulse reaches its maximum, being your thumb down in time to the shrinking pulse. The goal is to bottom out the press right as the pulse reaches its minimum.

Don't worry too much about the feedback. The finishing pulse size is based on three factors.

                          1. How small the pulse can get. This is based on the pitch type, the pitcher's BB/9, and the human control slider. Confidence and fatigue can also be factors.

                          2. When you press the button.

                          3. An amount is sometimes added to the circle in a somewhat random matter. How often and how much is added is based on a pitcher's control, the pitch selection, and the human consistency slider. Confidence and fatigue are also factors.

The issue here is that the timing feedback is based on how small or big your final circle is, not on the actual time you pressed the button. So when playing pitchers you have low control you can often get feedback that says your timing was poor even when you perfectly timed your button press.

Be sure you have a tv with a good response time and that it is in game mode (if available). High latency between button input and image can cause pulse pitching to feel impossible to do.

#3 explains what I’ve been seeing. The ball is supposed to be thrown anywhere within the circle, but I’ve noticed sometimes that isn’t the case. Makes sense now.

And props for being able to pitch on Legend. I am struggling on HOF. I can rarely get the CPU to chase anything with 2 strikes which forces me to throw in the zone and they usually make me pay my the price for doing so.

Just a quick update, so I noticed a bug where the game was randomly switching my profile as I went to select my team, even though my custom profile was set to default. I managed a work around by deleting the profile it was switching to, but the issue is that I'm not sure how long the bug has been affecting me. It's something I'm likely to notice quickly when it happens, but I can't be certain.

Problem #2 was that the profile that it was switching to was had the exact same settings as mine, except hitting difficulty was set to All-Star.

As such I'm throwing out the results of the past few weeks and "starting fresh" on the version 1 settings. I'm not sure how this will change things, as I was getting wonderful results before, but I can't be certain if that was tainted by the bug. Just keeping you guys informed.
