    UPDATE - PAGE 1 / POST 1

    MARCH 11, 2021

    VERSION 11.0

All updated sliders are in BOLD with the change noted.

Again, these are a guide, and adjust to your liking. I play primarily classic old school files. The game was a bit different then, so use common sense in your adjustments and for what you enjoy and skill level.

Part of the issue for me is that I'm getting better as I play. Especially user pitching, I'm really getting the feel down. So I raised some CPU batting aspects for a greater challenge. On All-Star level hitting, you recognize the challenge is needed raised, but you also want to get a fair amount of user K's and for the cpu offense to not feel anemic. Personally, I believe all-star level hitting is the most organic, having tried all of them. And I love the hit variety these give me.

mk bud! You moving to 21?

I loved your 20 sliders, hoping I would be able to play with your sliders on 21!

Plunked these into my test RTTS file. Wil try the out in that mode for a bit and report back.

Shocked there aren’t any good RTTS sliders around.
My claim to fame? I started the most popular thread of all time on OS:
The Photographic Side of NCCAA11. It has now become an OS staple for several games.

          UPDATED - VERSION 12.0 - APRIL 29, 2021

All changes are noted with attribute adjustements from previous version provided.

All of the changes have reasons for them through a lot of testing. I went back to power (user and CPU) to 5, but other adjustments keep things from becoming a HR derby.

Note the CPU pitch speeds are elevated. I now like the challenge and do indeed strike out a bit more, which I should.

I believe these can also be plugged into MLBTS 21 - if you are playing that. I have it and have used these sliders, but am primarily sticking with MLBTS 20. Enjoy! And you can also tweak to your liking.

So you've used the OP sliders on 21?

            Curious to hear your results.

2 things you can do (from the page 1 sliders) - for an additional challenge:

              1) raise cpu solid hits from 9 to 10
              2) lower cpu pitcher/manager hook from 2 down to 1

I don't like how quickly the cpu pulls the starting pitcher - it's like a guy gives up a hit or a walk or two, and the cpu pulls a guy way too early, especially when his pitch count is low.

now, i play mostly historical rosters, so back in the day starting pitchers threw a LOT of pitches and this current pitch count obsession wasn't like that. so these two changes really add another element.

if the cpu starts to get too many hits or you feel too many of them are line drives, then just put it back. I want the cpu to strike fear in my pitcher. but i also want it to be fair. the problem with just raising the cpu batting contact is you never strike anyone out.

New to your slider set. What are your thoughts about solid hits maxed. I haven’t tried yet but aren’t you limiting bloop singles and variety. Isn’t everything a rocket off the bat

I find all-star hitting to be the most organic of all the levels. You don't feel cheated and it also feels like the attributes really come to life.

I zero out the hit/contact slider because if you don't then the all-star level starts to show its ugly head of being too easy.

with that said, the solid hits maxed out now makes TIMING the most critical part. You will definitely foul off pitches, and if late, you'll bloop shots and foul off a number of them in foul territory or behind the plate.

Lastly, I have the cpu pitch speeds at 8 (fastball) and 7 (offspeed) to make sure I don't have much time to react. I will definitely strike out - sometimes as few as 3-4, and if a pitcher throws hard, i have struck out double-digits.

I'd suggest giving this at least 10 games. See what you think. And then you'll know if they're for you - too easy or too hard. And either try another set or make some slight adjustments to this set to make it fit better for your needs.

Latest update provided. I have a different approach, so I know these aren't for everyone. But another option.

                    Version 13.0 -- December 8, 2021 (hadn't updated for awhile).

I play pretty much only CLASSIC games with older roster sets, so these might not be for current season use.

I am getting amazing variety and spot on stats. Enjoy if using!

For anyone still using these - I updated them to reflect what I've been using for the last several weeks. I hadn't visited here to provide the update. You can check the sliders against yours, for those who want to use what I've shared. Still enjoying this game!

Having played 22 I don't recommend these exactly. I can look up some differences I have. I don't play 22 much, and might even trade it in. I do know that I have the cpu pitching sliders adjusted higher as it seemed like hitting was too easy for me. I also changed tv's recently and now sit much closer to a smaller screen (to free them up for our family). And that changed some things for me too.

I’m done with 22 this year. No matter what I did, the game didn’t play well. Started reminding me too much of 21. Pitching duel after pitching duel. Every game started to feel the same.

                              Agree 1000%

It feels overly scripted and I didn't get the sense i was playing real ball.

20 will forever be the GOAT for those of us that are OCD about this stuff.

If you like 21, or 22 by all means keep playing.....it's just my opinion afterall.

The Show sliders are becoming increasingly difficult to tune these past 2 years and once slider-itis kicks in......my as well move on to another game entirely.
