Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders
I use the universal DH so this may not help you, but usually I'll alternate my DH who is an outfielder, with my other 3 starting outfielders, just at random times to keep them fresh instead of waiting for the prompt. And my backup infielder, lets say he hits lefties really well, I'll plan on using him when facing certain lefties to give the starters a rest. This way I get in a rhythm and don't end up waiting too long.Hey, guys. Not a slider related question but was looking for some feedback on how yall go about resting your players in franchise? Do yall just rest a player when the game prompts yall too or do yall sometimes just do it before it does?
I ask because right now in my Rockies franchise Trevor Story, Ryan McMahon, and Garrett Hampson could all use a break but I'm hesitant to give them all 3 the day off at once as they're 3 of the best hitters in the lineup. Should I just rest one at a time or wait until the game prompts me to do it?
Thanks.

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders
Been bouncing between 2 franchises as I can't settle on which one I want to stick with.
I have a Bacon Tigers franchise, we're 10-10 on the season. We've been wildly inconsistent all season. The team just lacks solid contact hitters and my solid pitching staff has been a bit more hittable thus far than I had hoped. We did pull off a trade, acquiring SS Tony Nunez from the re-building D-backs for a couple of A prospects. Nunez is a FA after the season, but he's a great defender and has solid contact skills with some pop. Nominal SS Jose Brazoban will shift over to 3B to replace Jaylen Pain (who is out for the season with a torn ACL).
I recently bounced back to my Bacon Braves franchise. We're 3-5 on the year and our pitching has gotten lit-up like a Christmas tree. I know this roster well and I know where I got a bit too trigger-happy before on making deals last year. I'm going to allow things to play-out a lot longer with this team before reacting. I will say this, Gavyn Cook still hits bombs....
----------------------------------
On the slider front, I know we sputtered out of the gate as we all struggled with figuring out the balancing on this year's game. But I absolutely love where we've landed now. The hit variety is insane, the CPU is DEADLY if you aren't focused, and that manager hook adjustment has worked well beyond any expectations I ever could have hoped for.
I'm definitely settled into this setup. It's simple, it's highly ratings-oriented, and it's challenging.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

I have definitely settled on this set (on AS+). I literally get so caught up in the action I am hanging on every pitch it seems. Every game feels like a great challenge to get a win. And the way team is, talent wise, that's how it should be.Been bouncing between 2 franchises as I can't settle on which one I want to stick with.

And rewarding! Just played a game, Nate Pearson was out for a month with a concussion, he came back and pitched a gem. Perfect through 7 innings, ended up going 8.2 with 2 hits and 1 walk! Best performance I had so far this season from a starter.

Now I understand why you said stay the course….. Lost my last three games…. Two of which I was shutout in… God I love these sliders with Bacons set… Only change I have is my solid hits are down to four and contact for user is at 5. where I like them. Great job Josh

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders
I HIGHLY recommend you try out the exact OP hitting sliders for the user if you haven't done so. The hit variety is infinitely better than with a more standard approach of lowering solid hits and I think it is really allowing for ratings to stand-out even more across the board while rewarding you a bit more for good swings. Just my two cents there....Now I understand why you said stay the course….. Lost my last three games…. The only problem I have with that is I was already getting too many hits with contact at 5 and solid hits at 5. If I move contact up to 6 I’m going to get way more than I already have.

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders
I wouldn't make that assumption without verifying. You might get a tick more initially; but I also believe the CPU pitches a better overall game with the contact up a tick. I've had plenty of double-digit hit games; but also a slew of low hit total games. My team Batting averages are in the .250 range....
Also bear in mind that you can also elevate the pitch speeds a tick to compensate as well if you so desire.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders
Ok so the couple of glaring issue with the contact changes are
1. Even though the cpu is hitting a bit better, I’m absolutely raking now.
2. Foul balls. At first I was like ok a few more can’t hurt. But after 13 games of using the new set it’s becoming ridiculous. The Indians have 25 foul balls off my starter on 3 innings. This is not a one time thing. It’s happening every game.Comment
