      Re: TNK MLB 21 Sliders

Here's my plan for getting my Red Sox franchise started

      * Friday 9pm - Ridin Rosters drop and I'll download them from the vault

      * Will start my franchise with the Red Sox, the other 29 teams will be selected and assigned to use a CPU profile (another way of achieving 30 team control)

      * I'll spend a significant amount of time editing equipment for the Red Sox and my first opponent (Baltimore). Then I'll update the equipment, stances, etc as necessary before each series throughout the season

      * I'll post box scores and some highlights from every game of my season in this thread

Hoping to possibly get game #1 of the season in late Friday night....worst case Saturday night

So how do you do equipment edits? Like what do you use and are they all in the game?

Once you have the rosters downloaded, you can edit players equipment

Most players will be pretty accurate, but you can go into great detail editing everything

Thanks. What information do you go by? Do you use what they really use or just use equipment that you want?

I've got hundreds of pictures saved on my hard drive from Getty Images, and tons of screen captures from watching live games on my PC. They don't always wear the same thing / color in every game but there is plenty to go off of.

I go off Getty Images and you obviously can't be 100% accurate at all times as some guys wear different sets of batting gloves, cleats, etc. ....but I try to be pretty accurate and at least stick with something guys wear fairly routinely based on whether they are home or away

** Playing one final test game before the rosters drop and I begin my Red Sox franchise. I have scrapped my "test" Mets franchise (although I was enjoying it) and will get a practice game in with Boston @ Texas

                  TNK - "TEST" Exhibition Game

Boston Red Sox @ Texas Rangers
Pitching Matchup - Garrett Richards vs Mike Foltynewicz

The Red Sox opened the scoring in the top of the 3rd when Kike Hernandez took a hanging slider from Foltynewicz deep for a solo HR to LF giving Boston a 1-0 lead. The Rangers loaded the bases with 2 outs in the bottom of the 3rd but Garrett Richards would get out of the jam as Adolis Garcia grounded out to Arroyo at second base to end the inning. Richards found himself in danger again in the bottom of the 4th as the Rangers loaded the bases again with 2 outs for Nick Solak who hit the ball deep towards the gap in left-center but Kike Hernandez would make a nice running catch to end the inning as Richards escapes again and the game would move to the 5th inning with Boston leading 1-0. The Red Sox stranded two runners in the top of the 5th as Foltynewicz struck out Hernandez to end the frame and Richards would walk Garcia to put a man on with 2 outs in the bottom half of the 5th but came back to strike out Dahl to end the inning and send the game to the 6th inning with the Red Sox up 1-0. Richards was running out of gas and would depart after Culberson singled with 1 out in the top of the 6th as Matt Andriese came in from the pen and back to back strikeouts to get out of the inning as Trevino chased a cutter away on the 9th pitch of the at bat for the 2nd out and Andriese would freeze Calhoun with a changeup away to end the inning and the game would go to the 7th inning with Boston leading 1-0. Foltynewicz would walk Bobby Dalbec with 2 outs in the top of the 7th and was at 100 pitches in the ball game but came back get what may be his last batter faced as Arroyo would ground out to SS to end the top of the 7th with the score still 1-0. Andriese retired Solak to begin the bottom of the 7th and Boston would go to Darwinzon Hernandez with a pair of left handed batters coming up and Hernandez would get Lowe and Gallo on a pair of ground ball outs to end the 7th inning and send the game to the 8th with the Red Sox leading 1-0. Brett Martin took over on the mound to begin the top of the 8th for Texas and Hernandez would smoke a ball in the gap for a lead off double. Alex Verdugo was up next and he ripped a ball up the middle for a RBI single to extend the Sox lead to 2-0. Boston had two men on with 1 out but Martin would avoid the big inning as he would get Devers to ground into an inning ending 4-6-3 double play. Hernandez retired the side in order in the bottom of the 8th and the game was headed to the 9th inning with Boston leading 2-0. Taylor Hearn worked around a 2 out single by Dalbec in the top of the 9th and the Rangers would come to bat trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the 9th with Matt Barnes coming on to try and close it out for Boston. Barnes struck out Culberson looking for the 1st out on a 97 mph fastball and Trevino grounded out to Devers and the Rangers were down to their final out. Willie Calhoun would short hop the wall in right-center for a two out double and the Rangers would bring the tying run to the plate in Nick Solak. Barnes would strike out Solak on 3 pitches for the final out to record the save and the Red Sox win 2-0

                  * That's a wrap on slider testing and meaningless games, it's time for Ridin Rosters to drop Friday night and then it's franchise time!

The Rangers left the bases loaded in the bottom of the 3rd and then again in the 4th inning when Solak drove a ball deep to CF but Richards escaped the jam as Hernandez would get there to make a running catch and end the inning keeping it a 1-0 game

                    Re: TNK MLB 21 Sliders

This year I wanted to choose TNK MLB Sliders for giving a shot for my playing.
Already last year I had started playing with this set and then I changed for trying another kind of gaming.
I have made very small changes to some parameters and I have tried this set into a test match.
I would define as really good as a result.
I keep stats based on the set of sliders applied.
In the first 3 matches I had very poor results while as soon as I applied this set, the results were much more encouraging.
In the next matches I will check and confirm the goodness of this set for this year. Obviously the gameplay is totally the same as that applied with this set of sliders.
                    Well done.

Do you edit anything slider wise for simming games?

From the Youtube vidoes, why is the pitch speeds so slow...shouldn't you increase it?

If you like it faster - tweak and set it to whatever you want.

Pitch speed does not impact gameplay other than the users ability to pick up the pitch and time it

It's all personal preference when it comes to pitch speed....I personally like it right where it is (I'm getting older).

I never understood this way of thinking. The user's ability is "Entirely" dependent on his/her's ability to pick up on a pitch, its the most important determining factor on hitting. A slight adjustment on say default 5 to max 10 would mean a batting average of .250 to .350. Its prolly the most important adjustment to any slider set. Before any adjustment to Contact or Power or Timing could even remotely be considered should be based on timing and pitch speeds.
