Looking for Advice
I have been playing around with sliders in Franchise, but keep experiencing a hard time, where pitching is too easy but my hitting is atrocious. I have never had issues with hitting, I can't hit for any power (18 HR's in the 29 games), I pop-up way too much, even when it looks like I lake good contact. And I barely average 2 runs a game. Any suggestions how too balance out my pitching and my offense? The sliders are not seeming to make much difference...Tags: None -

Re: Looking for Advice
Dynamic Difficulty for pitching & batting , also set that Dynamic slider @ 10
play about 30 Play Now games before returning to Franchise
unless you're already playing on dynamic difficulty
that's the single biggest thing I do to keep from being overdominate (or completely dominated)
I find it captures the ebb & flow of a 162 game grind very nicely. lotsa hot streaks, with slumps mixed in as well
after another 30 games played in Franchise (and the 30 Play Now games) I'd set the Dynamic Slider back to default 5
after another 30 games in franchise with dynamic sliders at default 5, I then set it at its final resting place at 1Last edited by Caulfield; 05-23-2021, 08:28 PM.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Well in that case I’d simply lower the difficulty. Sometimes you gotta leave the ego at the door!

Re: Looking for Advice
I completely gave up on sliders this year. I gave dynamic difficulty a try and ill most likely wont be going back. For someone who has played this game every year it has been available and for a setting that's six years old , I cant believe it took me this long to figure it out. I look for variety and realism in games won or loss and final scores, which is exactly what dynamic difficulty has done for me. Give it a try. I doubt ill ever have to worry about sliders or what difficulty to play on again.Comment

If you're still looking for a slider based solution, based on your symptoms you probably want to raise solid hits.

Re: Looking for Advice
Yes it can be changed but I’m not sure exactly what you are asking? Dynamic difficulty changes the difficulty based on your performance. So if you’re hitting gets hot you’ll see the hitting difficulty go up say from all star to all star +. It works the same for if you are struggling. The difficulty adjust based on your performance. The same for pitching. The dynamic difficulty slider that I think you are speaking of affects how fast or slow the difficulty changes.Comment

Re: Looking for Advice
You can always turn it on/off in the setting and adjust the slider to have more/less of a hit to the good/bad on the fieldComment

For the OP, check around the slider forum. I use dynamic difficulty with slider at 10 just as Caulfield is suggesting. Check out my sliders if you'd like. Not sure if there are any other dynamic difficulty slider sets or not, but check those out too if so.
Typically with slider at 10 you're going to slide between 2-3 difficulties. For hitting I go from Veteran+ to Allstar+ usually. Occasionally drop to straight Veteran if I am really struggling. For pitching I'm always between Allstar+ and HOF+. Occasionally getting to Legend.
Also, idk what you use for pitching and hitting interfaces but most use classic pitching and timing hitting interface. I assume you probably do the same as a MLBTS vet.
Lastly, I think there seems to be a general consensus that hitting is much harder this year than previous years. So whatever difficulty you're used to is much harder this year. I always used HOF hitting and this year Veteran+ can still be a challenge.Last edited by DarthRambo; 06-03-2021, 02:17 PM.Comment
