I say start off on the hardest difficulty...Legend hitting and pitching with pitch speeds at 10!...play for a month with these settings then start adjusting sliders...don't be like 90% of players and settle for All-Star with default pitch speed.

Looking for beginner sliders
I’m sorry but this is literally the worst advice. This individual wants beginner sliders and we’re over here like MAX OUT PITCH SPEEDS ON LEGEND.....
What!?
The difficulty you chose will also really depend on what interfaces you are using. So if you’re using directional and classic for example, I would absolutely not recommend using legend on 10/10 pitch speeds Lol, especially for somebody that flat out in their post asked for BEGINNER sliders.
Not everybody is like the “competitive” crowd. There’s some weird alpha male stuff going on here lately where “if you don’t play on legend you suck!”
What people fail to realize, especially people that have been here for less than a month... is that most of these all star “newbs” on here COULD play on HOF or legend. I mean I have HOF pitching on my personal set.
that’s simply not what a lot of us on here are after though. We’re looking for an authentic franchise experience, one where ratings matter. That’s the whole point of using directional and classic, just to sit back and enjoy the game, and let your team you built play out the games.
Just for clarity I’m not bashing legend. I respect whatever anybody wants to play. It’s a GAME after all, the goal is to have fun.

Re: Looking for beginner sliders
To answer your question though id actually recommend dynamic difficulty, like a lot of people said already if you’re just starting out. You can get a nice gauge of where you can play this game and still have fun with it.

Re: Looking for beginner sliders
I choose to be on all star. All star balances ratings with skill. It is why I suggested that or even veteran. I personally don't dig dynamic so starting in the middle is the best.
Plus as I mentioned above there is so much more than just sliders that come into play in this game.
If skill dictates, the OP can adjust pitch speed, etc to match skill level.
But he was looking for a starting place. Legend is not the place to start here. If it isn't handled, it leads to frustration.
Sorry not trying to snap at you but someone doesn't need to play on legend or pitch speed 10 to enjoy the game. I play on all star, pitch speed 7 and get what I want. Ratings that dictate play. Albeit it is on 20 right now but the same applies.
Edit: I did not see the above response till after I posted this.Last edited by Funkycorm; 06-06-2021, 12:28 PM.Funkycorm

Thanks for all the feedback. As you can see below, I'm a big 2K player so it's nice to get some help on a new game!Comment

Re: Looking for beginner sliders
The out of box game plays really well.
They have a casual mode in the game this year that will provide a lot of aids that will help you to onboard into the game. I highly recommend you dive into this first to get a feel. From there, switch over to simulation style and roll with default sliders on dynamic difficulty...it will ramp you up more naturally.
Once you get into steady-state difficulty wise, you can begin making individual slider tweaks.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: Looking for beginner sliders
I am so tired of this if you don't play legend get good attitude. I have been playing since 09 and I could easily handle legend but I don't want to.

I think the logic of start at legend on dynamic is because they feel playing people online necessitates this. IT DOES NOT! IF someone online has figured out a spam or cheat they'll exploit it. WHY!? They don't have to face that person face to face. There are certain things you'd NEVER say or DO on a court or a field. BUT ONLINE... the NEVER athletes can feel good they can pull off the impossible!Comment

Re: Looking for beginner sliders
Sorry for the inactivity in responding to this thread.
I have really just been exploring the game in a great way...and I must say, I feel almost overwhelmed by the amount of game modes (especially compared to other sports games).
This just seems like a game you can play for a few years without completing most of the stuff.
Still figuring out some of the baserunning and all of that, but I think I will get a hang of it with more experience.
I did have one question though: why don't I have the option to change the difficulty setting in Diamond Dynasty? Or am I missing it somewhere?Comment
