    Re: Manage mode sliders

Glad to hear they’re helpful dman. The pitcher stamina and manager hook adjustments may be needed due to the changes made in 25 vs 24 to address complete games. Also, I like a lot of injuries in my franchises to help better simulate MLB, but it’s personal preference.

After you play more games, let me know if you have other feedback on how they’re playing or if you make any other tweaks. Also I’d be interested in your overall impressions on MLB 25 and how it compares to 24. I’m sure I’ll be picking it up at some point. Thanks.

Ok yea I'll try a bunch of games and see if anything needs adjusting. I like a lot of injuries but w only having 90 man rosters it can be tough to handle a bunch of injuries. 5 makes it manageable but u still get random big time injuries that could derail your season. As far as how 25 is compared to 24 I haven't gotten to an offseason yet to test out the free agency portion. I also need to start watching the cpu to see how they form a roster. Until I see those in action if I'm being honest the gameplay is about the same which isn't a bad thing. W u finding a good slider set for 24 i would wait. The presentation in franchise mode is much better to me. Once I test the offseason out I'll come back and give u a better review of that

Ok, sounds good. I hear ya on the 90 man roster limit. Both I and other cpu teams in my Franshise help supplement the rosters through signing Free agents or players put on waivers, but some may not like that concept.

By the way, I’m assuming you’re finding these sliders have helped with the high # of strikeouts problem you were having, at least so far?

I moved Contact up to 8 and am getting some great games, at 6 All games were 2-1 and 3-2 with 30 Ks a game and a total of 10-14 total hits.

At 8, 6-5 games 20 hits but still 20 Ks a game. Can't figure out how to get Ks down

ALTHOUGH - I'm using the OP sliders - not the ones up above which I'll try today in a few MoM games - thanks

It's so weird because the gameplay on your sliders are awesome but there's always some weird game in the midst of like 4 or 5. I've played maybe 12-15 games or so w your set and 2 of those games my cubbies had 20 strikeouts. The other team was high as well but then right when I think well I may have to adjust this, the next game they'll only have like 5 ks smh. Now I'm just tryna test this over like 50-60 games and see if it average out. It's just weird when those games happen because u can sense that the cpu is all wonky. Some of the swings they take are terrible. Idk either way I'm thinking this is the set I'm gonna run w cuz everything else is amazing

Interesting. Can’t say I’ve seen a 20 strikeout game in my franchise. Certainly have seen 14 or maybe 15, but not 20. Low has been 3 I think. Also have seen walks range from 0 to 10 or 11. That’s part of what I like about them is the variety. Not sure if what you are seeing is a function of 25 vs 24, cpu vs cpu instead of manage only, or maybe different rosters. I do know I will sometimes have 4 or 5 high scoring/high hit games in a row, and just when I think they may need adjusting, then I go through 3 or 4 low scoring, low hit games. Also, I like it when the pitchers throw a pitch well outside the strike zone and the hitter takes a bad swing, just like you see sometimes in real life. I think it’s a good thing to try a large sample size to see how things go and maybe adjust as needed.

One other thing I just thought of is in order to help with my franchise Sim stats, at the beginning of the year I lowered all MLB starting pitchers K rating by 3. I make this adjustment through the year as players may be called up or sent down to the minors. Not sure if this would have much effect to played games or not, but thought I’d mention it.

One point of clarification is, I use these only for games I play in manage only mode, not for games I sim. For those I use a different set of sliders.

dman - To give you additional data, below are the walk/strikeout totals for my last 14 games using these sliders:

                6/6 2/10
                3/8 6/8
                2/9 1/8
                3/5 4/10

Thought these my be helpful as a reference.

Yea I hear u. I'm tryna get a volume of games in it's just those 2 stuck out when u talking 20+ ks per team. I'm gonna keep trying these and if they don't work for cpu vs cpu I may just incorporate my all star hitting settings w your fielding settings and see how those play out. Overall it's a great set

One other thing I do is turn off "Check Swing Appeals" It drives me nuts when I get barely moves the bat and the appeal and the ump says he swung.

This is basically the same set I have used the past 4 years. The only change is I bumped the timing up to 6 (from 5).

Is there some kind of strategy to pitching in MoM? I swear my best pitcher gets slammed for 6 runs every start despite having 90+ in each rating. It's so goofy. Normally I just let it play without touching anything in this mode but sheesh maybe I'm playing it wrong.
