Irish made a good point too. Really didn’t think about the draft classes not matching up at all with the roster. I guess I’m going to stick with the SDS roster for now

Has to have its own sliders for that roster. The majority of the players have extremely low visions. On the tigers for example he has Haase at 8 and Baez at 12. That would be way too hard to hit with them.

The only successful custom modern day roster I have experienced in the past was Willards Hybrid Roster with Mav’s pitching edits (back on MLB 15). I always used Knight’s and now Ridin’s crews OSFM.

I am using the last Live update in my current franchise and am not looking back......Probably the best OTTB roster I ever seen and Ridin’s crew helped develop that base roster. Do I make some custom edits to my favorite prospects and some players....yeah...of course. But wholesale ratings changes never end well for long term franchises with prospects coming in each year too. It get’s way too complicated and cumbersome.

I agree with this. If you’re gonna do any ratings edits, they need to be subtle or else they’ll mess up the gameplay. Honestly I think the regular live rosters are perfectly fine for me this year.

I agree. I don’t want to take the time to edit the draft class. If we had carry over saves and I could do that while I wait for 23 to start the next season I might. My time is limited with a 3 year old and will be even less when he stops napping. So when I have a chance to play, I want to play the game. And I’m a sucker and will buy 23 next April.

SDS really got back on the right track with 22.

Quick question for you all, how do you get a good jump stealing bases?

I am 2 for 10 on stolen bases, with both successful steals coming from a player with 99 speed. All of my other attempts are players above 75 speed, and I am thrown out before they even begin the slide animation.

I usually start adding to my lead with L1 until the pitcher begins his animation but I am getting gunned down constantly.

I have pretty good luck tapping L2 and then holding down L1 until the pitcher moves. You have to find the right counts as well. If the CPU does a pick off I’m usually a dead duck. I don’t extend the leadoff. I don’t want to risk them throwing over.

so my playing every game of the season sadly came to a end when I accidentally simmed a game I didn't realize was remaining. Seattle V Tigers

and Tigers win 2-0 the simming still is broken Pineda had complete game shutout LOL!!! the first game I sim and the CPU screws up my season stats already. it had already auto saved too before I relapsed I had done it Not happy about it but anyhow. it shows the simming is broken. complete game shutouts are a rare thing as hell now and we will be lucky to even see one this year in real life let alone Pindea getting one lol and Seattle were hot 3-0 at the start too. so kinda pissed about it but gotta move on and get over it.

other then that I played every single game on the calendar so far.

Cardinals are the team on fire right no 4-0 start Nolan already has 4 homers and hitting 500 along with bader. (yeah that is right a guy who can't hit in real life lol)

I know you don't simulate games but SP stamina at 0 and hook at 10 for simmed games worked really well for test sims. Only 29 irl last year and in a sim there was only 41. Not great but literally the best you can do. SP still got plenty of innings pitched too

Yep still loving the game and seeing lots of variety in games. I will eventually start simming once the stats calm down a bit.

I mean the Nats just beat the phillies 10-2 after the phillies smashed the astros in the opening series.. so the game has variety and like real life bad teams can just turn up somedays randomly.

I really don't see anything that is bothering me right now as far as sliders and game play go.

in the game I actually haven't been able to have a starter or see a starter go past 7 innings yet which is pretty good. which is why the Pineda thing really annoyed me. Stamina matters this year.

Homeruns overall are still too high a percentage of hit distribution overall. So just me I am trying out power at 3 for human and cpu. I raised human solid hits to 6 too. So for both I am testing a 5/3/6 hitting combination. I finished one series with this vs Houston and so far early it felt a bit better. Astros still hit 7 in the series while I hit 2 homeruns on the series so at least we know they're not nerfed at all.

They had hits of 10, 15, and 17 each game so I got lit up pretty good unfortunately for me. Robbie Ray gave up 8 runs in two innings game three after Bregman hit a grand slam top 1st then a 2 run homer in the 2nd.

I am definitely going to continue testing this out since it's clear they're not nerfed. We want around 10-13% of hits to be homeruns (12% is perfect). Before the series I was at 23% for me which is way too high. Can't remember for cpu but after this series they're at 16.4% now which is too high.

I think as I play more the homerun numbers will go where we want them. No need for anyone to do this. I just wanted to let others know where I am at. Last year we had cpu power at 3 as well for our final version so it's definitely not out of the question or realm to have it there again this year. Obviously they can still rake and hit homeruns.

So yeah, don't freak out by hearing power at 3. SDS the last 3-4 years really cranked up the homeruns by default. Maybe it was needed but it's now an extreme amount on default where it's not even fun for a sim player like myself. Maybe they did it to appease the casuals idk. Everyone does love the long ball afterall.

might be a good time for me to report my Home run totals triples doubles singles etc. if I can find them in the stats and add them all up. and work out the average so far.

Philadelphia came into Seattle with a big series. They were 25-9 going in while we were 22-13. We lost the first one and came back and won the last two. The 2nd game was probably the best game of 22 so far with a come from behind win and walk off.

                              Game one:

                              PHI 7 12 1
                              SEA 5 8 1

                              W- Eflin ( 3 - 3 )
                              L- McCaughan ( 0 - 1 )
                              S- Knebel ( 13 )
                              PHI SP- Eflin 5.1 IP, 6 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, 1 K, 4.58 ERA
                              SEA SP- McCaughan 2.1 IP, 6 H, 6 ER, 3 BB, 2 K, 9.72 ERA
                              PHI HRs- O'Hoppe (2) Herrera 2 (5)
                              SEA HRs- Haniger (9)
                              PotG- Herrera 3 for 5 - 2 HR, 2 R, 4 RBI

Notes - Kelenic was activated from the DL. Sent down Julio Rodriguez back to AAA.

                              Game two:

                              PHI 4 9 0
                              SEA 6 13 1

                              W- Castillo ( 1 - 0 )
                              L- Knebel ( 1 - 2 )
                              S-
                              PHI SP- Wheeler 6 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 2.17 ERA
                              SEA SP- Gilbert 4.2 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 8 K, 2.66 ERA
PHI HRs- Schwarber (8) Herrera (6)
                              SEA HRs- Suarez (4)
                              PotG- Suarez 2 for 5 - HR, 2B, 2 RBI

Notes - This was probably the best game I had this year so far. Gave up the go ahead run in the 9th and tied it in the 9th. Suarez hit a walk off HR to win it.

                              Game three:

                              PHI 1 7 0
                              SEA 8 15 0

                              W- Gonzales ( 3 - 2 )
                              L- Nola ( 4 - 1 )
                              S- None ( )
                              PHI SP- Nola 4 IP, 8 H, 4 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 1.99 ERA
                              SEA SP- Gonzales 7 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 4.33 ERA
                              PHI HRs- None
SEA HRS- Winker (19) Haniger (10) Toro (5)
                              PotG- Haniger 2 for 4 - HR, 3 RBI

Notes - Gonzales had his best game of the year so far. Will be going to Allstar + for hitting.

                                Game one:

Notes - Kelenic was activated from the DL. Sent down Julio Rodriguez back to AAA.

                                Game two:

                                PHI 4 9 0

Notes - This was probably the best game I had this year so far. Gave up the go ahead run in the 9th and tied it in the 9th. Suarez hit a walk off HR to win it.

                                PHI SP- Nola 4 IP, 8 H, 4 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 1.99 ERA
                                SEA SP- Gonzales 7 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 4.33 ERA
                                PHI HRs- None
SEA HRS- Winker (19) Haniger (10) Toro (5)

Notes - Gonzales had his best game of the year so far. Will be going to Allstar + for hitting.
